Chapter 37: Chapter 37
ALARIC'S POV
The instant we got to Seattle, I became restless but for some reason I could feel the presence of Lenora closer and it made me a little bit calm.
Josh had given me a call immediately we landed and asked if we've arrived safely. He was really watching over me like I was a kid but I am not complaining, he might not know this but I consider him the closest person I have to a family.
Before hanging up, he had sent a list of all packs in Seattle and have insisted that we searched all the packs first before searching the whole town itself and I found that smart about him.
Jenny had also contributed by checking for the locations and we decided to start our search immediately, well I decided to start my search for Lenora immediately even though Jenny had said we start the next day but I was too impatient for that.
We started off by searching for the first pack on the list but she was nowhere near them. The Alpha's were all scared of my sight immediately I entered their pack and they all said they had no idea where Lenora was.
I would have said they were lying but with the looks in their eyes, they dare not lie to me, and I wasn't able to perceive her smell either and it was driving my beast and I crazy.
All we wanted was to just hold her in our hands again and inhale every smell of her that we've been missing for the past few days.
"Oh wow, the next pack is a really strong and powerful one, " Jenny brought my attention to her with a smirk on her face and It slightly irked me.
Since we started this journey, she had been more casual with me and I really don't like it as it disgusts me but then I would let her be for now because I need to focus on the search of my mate.
The Red Moon Pack seemed familiar to me and I was left wondering where I could have come across the pack but I had no clue at the moment.
Maybe I might have visited them some decades back or even a century since everything around here kind of looks like a deja vu to me.
"Drive us there " I commanded the driver as he took some turns and in no time, I found myself in the front gates of the pack but on getting there, my heart raced like never before as my beast kept on pounding its head on my chest in am attempt to force its way out.
A strong smell filled my senses and it was at that moment I knew that my Lenora was here, she was right behind those gates.
I lost my senses immediately as I commanded the driver to stop the car so I could walk in, I had at least expected them to just bring my Lenora out but on getting to the pack house. The guards were all trying to misbehave with me and I was damn sure they knew that I was not a mere wolf like them.
"Where's Lenora? " I growled as I asked a guard who seemed to have emerged from the pack house. He seemed to be the leader of the guards.
"What brings you here, mighty one?" He asked as he bowed before me and it made a smile tuck its way on my lips. At least someone here knows who I am but that wasn't still my concern as I wanted to take Lenora away with me immediately and leave these pests alone to their misery.
"Where's Lenora?" I asked again but got nothing in response as his head was still bowed.
They were all delaying me and toying with my very thin patient because I had no time to wait and was really trying my best to not let my beast out yet.
Since Lenora had disappeared, he had been begging for me to let it out because he thinks I'm doing a bad job at finding Lenora but now I could smell her everywhere in this pack yet they don't want to bring her to me.
"I don't have all the time in this world, young man!" I growled with my teeth clenched as I was still trying to keep my cool with them.
"I'm sorry but no one of that name lives here" He lied still with his head bowed and it suddenly put me off the edge as I lifted him up by his neck with just a hand.
My eyes were now glowing gold as I stared straight into his eyes. He was trying to hold my hand on his neck as he was gagging and chocking.
"Eddy!" Another guard yelled as he brought out one of those long swords to attack me but before he could get close to me I had already ripped his heart out causing the rest of them to gasp.
Immediately he fell to the ground, I could hear different people running and panicking as they all knew danger was in their midst but I won't strike just yet as I would still give them a second chance.
"I'll ask you again, where Is Lenora!" I roared and another guard was trying to prove his foolishness by bringing out a gun to shoot at me with.
"Don't!" The senior guard whose neck was gripped by hands commanded with his fists in the air while I scoffed in annoyance.
They were testing my patience but unfortunately my patience has run out.
"Bull shit!" I cursed as I snapped his neck in my hands and threw him to the floor, his blood was now all over my body that it made me sigh in frustration.
I didn't want any of it to resolve to this but they weren't taking it easy on themselves by lying to me and disobeying a whole lycan prince. The son of Adolph.
The moment the rest of the guards spotted their leader dead on the floor, they tried to come for me but before they could even leave their spots ,Jenny had taken care of them.
I sighed as I entered the big doors of the pack house but there was not a single soul in the huge house as it was dead silent and the only noise was from Jenny killing the guards.
A part of me was telling me that if Josh had been here then he would have definitely stopped me from touching a single wolf in this pack but he wasn't here and I had no time to waste. I just want to meet my Lenora and hug her tight.
I walked around around the house but I really couldn't perceive Lenora's smell in the house anymore, which means she wasn't in the house.
A part of me started to feel bad as to whether she was actually in this pack or not but another part of me made it clear that her smell was everywhere in the house at first and maybe she was in the pack but not in the pack house or maybe I'm not just able to smell her well due to the conc smell of blood that was splashed all over my body and face.
I decided to wait a little longer even though it was vexing my beast but there really wasn't anything much that I could do and if she doesn't show up on time then I'll have to continue the search in the remaining two packs that I haven't visited yet.
I sat at a corner of the huge room while waiting for her in hopes. It was then I suddenly realised that neither the Alpha or Beta of this pack were around and I definitely hope they had not run away with Lenora.
After seating for about five minutes the huge doors flung open again and the smell of my beloved became even stronger.
I raised my head to see her with worries all over her brown eyes as she entered the room and in front of her was a really familiar face. He was touching my lenora in an attempt to protect her but the sight of his hands caressing her bare arms sent me over the edge and it was then that I suddenly remembered who the guy was.
As at when I met him, he was only just a teenager and was the son of the Alpha of this pack. My father had laid a command for me to get rid of every single person in the Blue moon pack but unfortunately a teenage girl had also escaped.
He found her and claimed she was his mate, his father also helped to hide her and they both ran away after some while.
According to my father's rule, no one was to help anyone from the Blue moon pack but the Alpha of the Red moon pack did and paid for his actions as I slit his throat and separated his head from the rest of his body so his son must have taken over the pack now.
I had long ago forgotten about their case as other cases had been assigned to me and I'm always dealing with new cases every week.
If my father was to know that I killed just the Alpha and not his son even though they were both involved then he would definitely be mad at me. Perhaps this was an opportunity for me to kill him afterwards and maybe this was definitely meant to be.
Lenora still had worries all over her face and it looked like she would pass out any time soon with the amount of fear in her face but there was something different about her though and I hoped that little boy had not laid a finger on her.
My focus was on Lenora as she took in the image of the room and it was really surprising to me that none of them looked my way.
"Run, run, Jika run!" Lenora yelled with her eyes widened In awe and I guessed she must have noticed my presence. She was trying to drag his hands away but the Alpha was only confused as he stood his ground and didn't move.
"You can never run from me" I finally decided to say after observing their every moves. I would have just loved to take Lenora along with me but I don't think I'll be able to do that as news would definitely spread about me invading their pack and my father would be as curious as to know if I had killed the Alpha even though he would still be mad at me. He was never satisfied.
The Alpha seemed to have recognised me immediately as his face was mixed with fear and curiosity.
"We meet again and my second meeting always ends with one person dying but unfortunately it'll be you dying!" I threatened but It was definitely not an empty threat as his body became rigid at my words while Lenora was more shocked than ever.
I fucking missed her cute face and all I want right now Is to savor every bit of her body right this spot but first I have to deal with the Alpha for sneaking a member of the now extinct Blue moon pack and now sneaking away the mate of a lycan prince.
"Stay behind me, Lenora" he whispered into her ear as his hands were all over her and it made me even more upset at how close he was to my Lenora that all I wanted to do was to end him once and for all. My beast and I both want it at the same time.
I hated the way Lenora was looking at him with care in her eyes, I have never seen her looking at anyone that way before not even me and it made my blood boil in jealousy.
She was scared for him as she knew that I would definitely kill him off, she was trying to tell him to stay back but the Alpha had to do what most Alpha do as he chose to pick up a fight he can never win.
I watched how he changed into his wolf form and was getting ready to pounce on me but with the anger and jealousy boiling in my blood, I had taken no mercy on him as I slit his throat before he would touch me with his filthy hands .
I watched how Lenora ran to him the instant he dropped to the floor and how tears were flowing freely down her eyes. It hurts me to see her that way especially when she was crying for another man.
She had guilt, pain, sadness and anger in her eyes as she laid her head on the dead wolf's body and there wasn't much I could do to than to stare at her showing affection to another wolf.
"That's enough, get up and let's go back to the pack. I'll deal with you later" I said in frustration as I was tired of watching her like that but I didn't really mean it because my beast wouldn't even let me punish her for a second. We just want her to be all over us.
On hearing those words, she brought her eyes to mine and for the first time since I knew her I felt threatened by her eyes as they were not just her usual big brown eyes but they were blood red and it made me scared.
Females aren't meant to have this eye colour.
