LENORA'S POV

"You're lucky" She commented the moment we left the dining room.

"Why?" I asked but she only flashed me a smile showing off her pearly sets of teeth.

"Hmm, let's get far away from the boys. Their ears could hear from miles and it spooks me up" she responded and I let out a chuckle.

Deep down, I hoped it wouldn't be something too serious because I might not be able to handle it well, I had chosen to stay here because I believed I would live a drama free life and I would definitely hate for me to be wrong about my choice.

After walking past corridors that I don't think I'll remember any time soon, we entered her room as she sat me down on her dressing chair while I faced the huge mirror. I had thought my room was really big but this just proved me wrong as I took my time to notice the interior designs of the room.

"You have a very beautiful room" I complimented.

"Thanks, let's start with your hair" she softly said with a smile before proceeding to lose the really bad braids I had on my hair. I had braided it myself because I was tired of combing it. I was really a mess.

She seemed to be good In what she was doing as I made myself relax in the comfy chair but then something popped up in my mind. it was about the question I had asked her and she had said she would reply once we got to her room.

Here we are and she's not saying anything yet, perhaps I should remind her. As I tried to open my mouth to say something to her, I shut it back when I realised she might not be comfortable with the question but my curiosity wouldn't let me be at rest as I found myself asking anyway.

"Oh, I almost forgot to give you an answer" she lightly slapped herforebead as I reminded her.

"It's cool if you don't want to talk about it " I said to her but deep down I didn't really mean it and might still ask her some other time if she didn't say it now.

"Oh no, it's fine. You have the right to know anyway"

"Oh, " I awkwardly responded with a small laugh.

"Well, I had said you were a lucky one because of how the Alpha treats you. I've been here for almost five years now and I have never seen him so nice to anyone but Cole who somehow always gets on his good side, it took him some couple of months for him to warm up to me but he was never hostile to me"

"Although, he doesn't joke with females and children but if he had found them trespassing, all he does Is to send them back to where they came from with a threatening warning. Never has he ever brought a rogue home, talk more of clothing, feeding and even inviting them to the dining table or events."

"I mean, he really let you see his slide and you both went down the slide, even though Cole somehow knew about him having something childlike like that, he has never for once trespassed because he knew Jika must have wanted his privacy with the slide because he didn't inform Cole about it himself. Jika might not take it lightly with him if he found him near there. "

"Though they are close friends, it's crazy how they still fight a lot of times and end up destroying half the furniture." Shd chuckled a little after saying those words, perhaps a memory flashed through her mind.

"He must have probably seen something special in you and gave you so much privileges and attention. I think we're done with the hair " she finished her statement with a smile and I could tell she was being truthful.

I loved the way the Alpha treats me differently but I wasn't sure I wanted it after what had happened with Alaric and I and how he turned out to be a possessive beast that was only self centered.

"Should i apply some makeup on your face?" She asked as she brought some makeup closer to me but I was quick to shake my head in disapproval with a smile.

"Alright then, I'll get your dress " she said and walked away from the table to the closet.

"You don't seem to be okay after our discussion, what's wrong?" She asked and I had not noticed I was giving out a bad vibe. I wasn't truly happy but I never meant for her to know.

"No it's nothing,I'm fine " I responded with a smile and she was skeptical for some minutes before she finally agreed and in no time we were through with what we were doing.

We left her room and walked down the huge staircase, the men were nowhere to be found as she assumed they must have left before us but on getting outside the house, we saw them standing beside each other. They seemed to be engrossed in a heated discussion but on sighting us, they stopped whatever they were talking about to focus on us.

"Wow, you look beautiful " Jika complimented me as he took in my features from head to toe and it made me really uncomfortable but there wasn't much I could do but stand still with an awkward smile.

After what Fiona had said to me, I wasn't comfortable around him anymore.

"Thank you" I awkwardly said with a smile but he seemed to have noticed. On the other hand, Cole had immediately grabbed Fiona to devour her right on the spot, not caring if we were standing some inches away from them.

It made me chuckle but the expression on Jika's face made everything worse for me as I burst out in laughter. It made them stop making out as they both turned to look at me.

"We're not some free movie, move along" Cole grumbled while Jika rolled his eyes. He gestured at me to take his hands so we could walk together.

I was reluctant at first but seeing that he wasn't nice to only me made me calm a little, he was definitely better than Alaric who would treat me like shit sometimes and treat others worse. Perhaps there was no hidden motive in his mind.

I walked up to him and gave him my hand as we started to walk through the woods, on our way to the event. I turned to look back but couldn't find Cole and Fiona anywhere near.

"That's why I prefer Fiona going alone, I shouldn't have made this mistake " He sighed as we continued to walk and I chuckled. He must have known what I was thinking when I turned to look back.

We got to the party a few minutes later and it wasn't like I had expected as there were just a few people but it was still really cool with the decorations .

He took my hands and led me to the front seat where he had sat beside me and suddenly a lot of eyes fell on me, with the smiles on some women's faces, they probably thought I was his mate.

After some while, Cole and Fiona came to join us in the party as they sat in the seat behind the Alpha. The party started off cool as the two wolves were made to do some rituals before the Alpha had blessed them then they proceeded to mark themselves.

I could see the Joy In their eyes the instant his fangs went into her throat. After pulling it out, I didn't see love anymore but lust as they both crashed their lips on each other and almost stripped In front of the whole crowd before Jika cleared his throat in a way to inform them that he was still around.

Seeing them this way made me happy for them but the fact that Asher and I could have celebrated this and experienced true love made me sad that it never happened. The moon goddess really stood me up.

The mating process didn't take much time but the rest of the party was left for drinking and eating. The awesome music and fireworks made me smile and before I knew it, I was In a party mood, drinking and dancing to the beat of the song but something wasn't right.

I wasn't fully myself as I suddenly found my eyes blurring and it was getting hard for me to move my legs well without staggering as my head kept on pondering.

I turned to find Jika but he was nowhere near me and my eyes couldn't see past some metres away from me.

I suddenly felt an urge to puke and tried to reach the nearest bush to puke in, fortunately I got there on time before the irritating vomit came out of my mouth.

"Are you okay?" A voice asked and I was thankful Jika was now beside me but as I turned to look at the person, it wasn't Jika but a completely strange person. I was disappointed but tried as much to not let it show on my face.

"Yeah, I'm good" I responded and tried to make my way back to the party until a strong arm pulled me back and it was the same guy.

"Why are you in a hurry, I'm a friend and won't hurt you " he said with a grin on his face but I knew he definitely had bad intentions for me.

"Let me go" I threatened but my words didn't come out as planned but they were rather slurred, a sign of me really drunk.

I was just seventeen and I wasn't familiar with alcohol as I never had the chance to take one. The drink was so good in my mouth that I hadn't asked if it contained alcohol or not before gulping down several glasses.

"Why should I let a pretty girl like you go without getting a taste of you? We both know that's not possible sweetheart" He touched my cheek with the tip of his fingers and I flinched at his touch.

I knew I wasn't In good hands and I was in danger but the more I tried to let myself go from his grip, the tighter he held me until I got really tired.

"Go away you freak!" I yelled but instantly felt a sharp pain on my cheeks followed by a really loud ringing in my ear.

"Be quiet!" He roared and I could feel him lifting me up as he was about to run away with me. With a fucking me!

I tried to scream but my voice wasn't leaving my mouth and as I was about to give up I heard a loud scary sound of bones cracking as he dropped me to the floor.

I had thought they were my bones but I didn't feel much pain but the one on my shoulder with the force he used to drop me down.

"Are you okay?" A feminine voice asked but my vision was too blurred to take In the image of her face even though her voice was familiar.

I heard the same eerie noise as bones continued to crack and it felt like a body was being disassembled. It made goosebumps cover my skin but for some reason I felt like I was in a safe hand now.

"I'm so sorry Lenora " A masculine voice cooed into my ear as I felt a hand lifting me above the floor. I recognised this voice immediately.

"Jika" I whispered not expecting him to hear but it seemed he had heard me anyway.

"We're getting you home, you'll be fine Lenora " He said and afterwards I felt myself drifting into a deep sleep.
