"Fuck,I can't breathe!" I gasped out loud as we ran up the high hills that were clouded with fogs, making it almost impossible for me to breathe and I wondered how well he was running up the hill so fast without even slowing down a bit but I guessed he was already used to it.

"Stop whining, we're almost at the top " he yelled from afar and I inhaled a deep breath. I might as well just complete this training and reward myself with a good sleep.

If only I had just been honest to tell him my head still hurt and I wasn't well yet, then I would have probably been enjoying myself on the bed with a bag of chips in my hand than this punishment.

I was actually surprised at myself when I didn't fall or pass out despite the throbbing ache in my head and the burning feeling in my lungs crying for fresh air to breathe. If I was still in the Serene pack then I was most likely to have passed out in the first five minutes but here I am still on my legs running for thirty minutes straight.

"You made it!" Jika chuckled as he wiped the sweat off his face with his arm. He didn't look anywhere near someone who had been speed running for over thirty minutes while on the other hand I looked like a thrash.

"Yeah but how do we go down the hill, my legs can't move an inch anymore " I whined and a smirk tucked at the corner of his lips.

"Well this is the fun part of the run, no one but me knows about this but I'm suspecting Cole though, since he is always around me and mischievous " he said as he was leading me to another part of the hill.

He pointed to a pile of dried swines on the floor leaving me confused but the moment he removed the dried leaves I saw a slide leading down the hills and before I knew it I started to burst into laughter.

"What's funny?" He asked with a cringed brow and I tried to calm myself down hoping I hadn't offended him.

"No, I'm sorry but it's just too cute and child like" I said as I bit my lips hard to stop myself from laughing anymore.

"Well then let's slide" He said and made me sit on the slide first before he joined me and I loosened my tensed muscles to let my body freely slide down while he was sliding behind.

I looked at my back to see his hands raised in the air as he was enjoying the cool breeze but to be honest I loved this too and it definitely paid off for the long thirty minutes run.

"Tell me I'm the best Alpha you've ever met because you don't find other Alpha's having a secret slide and taking you on a joy ride" he yelled out loud so I would be able to hear him through the breeze and I chuckled.

He might have been known to be as ferocious as Alaric and also deadly since he was obviously the Alpha of the Red moon pack but he was just like a child to me.

He has always been cheerful since I met him and it somehow made me happy. Even though I met him in less than three days I found myself trusting him and growing fond of him.

After some while on the slide we finally came down but I realised we landed on the other side of the pack house perhaps this was to make no one to know about his slide which I still found really hilarious.

"Let's go in"He said and held my hands as he led me inside and something immediately felt strange with the touch of his hands. They were gentle and warm on my hand and it made most of my worries vanish that there was not even a single room in my head thinking or worrying about what was going on in the Serene pack.

I shouldn't focus on that pack anymore but right now I should focus on my new home and do whatever I can to fit in.

We entered the pack house both in our sweatpants and sweatshirts as he was leading me to my room. On getting there he crashed on the couch that was right opposite the bed as he closed his eyes for some while.

"Today was fun" I said with my eyes looking down at the cute Nike shoes the maid had left in my room. It fitted perfectly and I was still wondering how they got to know my shoe size.

"I bet it was, let's do it often " He said and opened his eyes. I could see the obvious excitement in his eyes .

"I'm not so sure about "often", I almost died today " I whined and he smiled before standing from the couch and walking up to me on the bed.

My breathing reduced the more he came closer to me and I secretly prayed he wasn't going to touch me or do anything with me. As much as I didn't want to think of the Serene pack I.was still traumatized with what they did to me.

His face was now in front of mine and only inches away. If I shook my head a bit then my lips would undoubtedly be on his lips so I just froze, but me holding my breath for so long was making my face turn purple.

"You have a fucking grass hopper in your hair!" He chuckled and reached for my hair before pulling it out and I released a sigh of relief.

"Oh my fucking rubber duck! They're more than just one in your hair" he said and I suddenly felt some ratches on my body. I hated insects and slightly felt awkward when he removed just one but knowing there was more made my whole skin react.

"Please get them off!" I cried with my eyes shut but the cute chuckle that filled the room made my eyes flutter open and I met Jika laughing hard at me. Made me a little angry and nervous.

"What's funny?" I pouted as he brought my chin to the palm of his hand.

"There wasn't any more grasshopper in your hair,I was kidding with you and your response was a hundred percent funny" He chuckled and it made me flush in embarrassment that I didn't know when my hands had punched him on his chest.

I immediately apologized because I wouldn't want to offend him but he seemed to have taken it lightly with me because the cheerful expression on his face never fell.

"By the way you should take a shower, you stink of sweat, come down for dinner when you're through though." He said before standing up and walking out of the room.

I smelled my arm pit to confirm his words and immediately flinched when I realised he was correct.

After taking my bath, I found a fresh set of cloth on the bed and wore it before styling my hair a little. The thought of the grasshopper still made me flinch.

This time I was determined to make it to the dining room all by myself without getting lost but I failed myself as I found myself lost in a corner.

I was lucky when I spotted Eddy walking towards me with an airpod plugged in his ear so it would definitely take a lot for him to hear me.

"Eddy!" I screamed at the top of my lungs for him to hear me and it surprisingly worked as he flashed his crooked teeth at me the moment he spotted me.

"Hey" He greeted me when he got close to where I was.

"I need help to the dining room, I'm lost" I said and he didn't seem bothered as he held my wrist and led me towards the dining room but a hush voice had stopped us.

"I'll take her there. '' Jika's voice echoed from behind us and I turned to see him walking towards us. Eddy immediately released his grip on my hand and bowed to Jika. I also did the same before he scurried away.

"I knew you'd be lost so I came to find you but you were not in your room " Jika said but this time he didn't talk to me with the tone he used on Eddy but a much softer tone that left me confused about his personality.

Different thoughts came across my mind but I tried to shove the negative thoughts away. He had already said he treats children and females differently and by the way he also treats Cole and his mate the way he treats me.

We walked to the dining room but this time Cole and Fiona were already seated waiting for us and she was glowing under the fluorescent light that seeing her alone made me feel somehow insecure of my body.

"Finally we can eat now" Cole pouted as he beat on the dining table while Fiona on the second hand smiled at his behavior as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Glutton" Jika insulted Cole and the expression on Cole's face was priceless as it made the rest of us laugh.

We dug into the tasty different dishes that were on the table and the moment the flavoured taste touched and melted on my tongue, my stomach grumbled in excitement and I ate faster. I can't remember the last time I ate so much and fast like this without getting full.

"Slow down there else you'll choke" Cole remarked and my cheeks hinted red as I flushed. I hadn't realized they were staring at me all these while.

"Let her eat in peace, we went for a long run so her wolf must be really hungry" Jika backed me up and I continued my food but this time I was being cautious of the way I ate.

"Laugh my dick out, yall went to have fun in a hidden slide and you call it run " Cole chuckled as he took a bite out of his food.

I looked at Jikas face to see his reaction but his face showed that he was rather tired of Cole's attitude rather than wanting to murder him and it made me smile at how the bond if their friendship was strong.

"I think I'm full" I said after a while and shifted the plates away from my side of the table before proceeding to leave for my room.

"Where do you think you're going to?" Jika asked and it made me halt on my steps.

"My room" I responded and the thought of me not knowing the way back there dawned on me.

"Well, I'm sorry baby girl but there's a full moon tonight and we have a wedding to attend" Cole said and I was suddenly lost in their conversation

"It's compulsory that the Alpha and his family attend the ceremony " Cole added and it made me even more confused.

"But I'm not a family "

"You asked to be part of the pack and Jika made you one already "

"But Fiona didn't follow you to the last one"

"She was already waiting for us there," Cole said before letting out a loud groan.

"Enough with the questions, curious George. Go get dressed already" he groaned and I looked at Jika but he was focused on his food.

I already had a stressful day and really thought I would rest but now I'd have to walk in the woods again.

"I'll help you dress up, let's go to my room. '' Fiona offered and released herself from Cole's grip on her thighs before walking up to me and leading me to her room. Whatever this was I hope it won't drain my energy.

"You're lucky" She commented the moment we left the dining room.

"Why?" I asked but she only flashed me a smile showing off her pearly sets of teeth.
