Chapter 30: Chapter 30

"It's a female rogue!" A thick voice growled as my eyes fluttered open. It took a while for my brain to figure out that I had thought I slept In a bed not knowing it was a trap and now I am in a pit staring up to see some heavily built figures in a blurred vision.

By their smell and appearance, one could easily tell that they were wolves and I had just crossed my boundaries by entering their territory.

"She's probably lost and harmless" another voice said and there was a loud grumble from the rest of the wolves that it made my ear hurt. They didn't seem to be in approval of what the second wolf said or perhaps they were debating.

"She could be a spy, we can never trust anyone who sneaks into our territory " another wolf said and it made the rest chant in support.

"We should take her to the Alpha, he'll decide her punishment" the same wolf said and in no time, two hefty werewolves jumped into the pit as they stared at me with blood thirsty eyes.

It made my heart skip a beat as I didn't know what else could happen to me in this unknown place. I only kept on looking at them as I didn't speak a word.

A wolf carried me on his shoulder like I was a sack before throwing me above the pit. I could feel the bones in my shoulders cracking at the force he used in throwing me and I flinched but didn't utter any word.

I could see the obvious confusion In their eyes and they probably thought I'm mute but I also didn't know why I wasn't going to talk. That wasn't my main concern but right now I was thinking of how I would escape from these hefty wolves without them catching up to me and ripping my heart out.

Immediately I landed hard on the floor, I was lifted up by a wolf and he dragged hand along with his. Some of the wolves stayed behind and at the end I was only surrounded by three of them.

Even though their number was now fewer there was still no way I could take them down, else I was attending a suicide mission.

We continued to walk through the rough part in the woods and I blamed myself for not sleeping beside a trash can rather than putting myself in this much stress.

All I wanted was to just leave the Serene pack but I ended up getting into trouble. By now, news should have finished spreading about my absence all through florida and it only takes a few more days before the news would reach here. That's if I would still be alive before then.

Perhaps this wasn't a bad idea,it's better to get killed rather than to continue to live in my misery.

"Snap out of it you stupid girl!" My wolf cautioned me and I apologised to her. I felt bad for thinking that way and only considering myself. If anything happens to me then that also means it would happen to my wolf too.

After what seemed like hours of walking in the woods, the wolves decided to take a peeing break.

"You better not leave here!" He growled at me while I only stared back at him. It was quite funny to me to see three grown wolves being this careless with their hostage but that was none of my business and I needed to run as fast as my legs could carry me

"Hey! Are you crazy?" The hefty man yelled after me as I ran away from them as fast as I could in my weak state.

I didn't look back or pay any attention to their voices as I kept on running, not caring where my legs were taking me to.

Something suddenly felt off and I realized I hadn't been chased by them, they didn't bother to run after me the moment I escaped and as I turned my back to see them I suddenly banged my head on an anonymous figure in front of me.

I raised my hurting head to come face to face with a young wolf, whose eyes weren't smiling at me but were filled with disgust. With his smell, I could tell he wasn't just a wolf but an Alpha.

I don't know if it was a trait but all the Alpha's I've ever known always had beautiful features. Not that I know alot but his chiseled sharp jaw left me gawking at his features.

The clouds were still very dark but I could see his hazel eyes glowing in the dark as his thick lashes continuously fell on them as he blinked.

The irritating look on his face slowly faded away as I saw the corner of his lips tucking up to form a smile before he stretched forth his hands offering to help me stand up.

I reluctantly took his hands as he lifted me back on my feet, my eyes still didn't leave his face as I was still admiring him.

"We're sorry sir, she wanted to run and we had left her to satisfy herself before we could catch up with her. We didn't know you'd be close by" One of the wolves said as he stammered with his eyes bowed.

"Stop making excuses Jax, does she look like a fucking toy to you or you don't know how to treat your women?" He scolded with an authoritative tone that made his voice echo.

"We're sorry sir" They all apologised this time but the Alpha wasn't ready to listen to them as I could see the anger In his eyes.

"Oh come on Jika, let them be for now else we'll be late for the function since the moon would be gone soon" Another wolf said as he walked out of nowhere and I really didn't know where they were coming out from.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Cole the Beta of the Red moon pack and you?" he asked and I suddenly had cold feet. I was in the red moon pack, one of the most dangerous packs in history. So why was the Alpha being nice to me rather than devouring my organs?

The thoughts of me standing in front of a deadly Alpha made me shake even more but why do cruel wolves always have the prettiest faces?

"She's mute" One of the wolves who abducted me said, after a while of me not talking.

"Ah, I see" Cole responded and turned his attention back to the Alpha whose name was Jika.

"We should go now," He said to Jika and the Alpha nodded in approval but his eyes were still on me that it made my insecurities sky rocket. I hadn't showered in a long time and my clothes were smelling along with my rough hair.

"Take her to the pack house and make her clean up, give her food and I'll be with you in less than an hour" The Alpha responded and released his grip on my hands before walking past me.

"I'm Lenora " I whispered but it seemed they heard and the three hefty wolves had a surprised look on their faces.

I could feel their steps halting as the Alpha ordered for me to look at him. I turned and I was now staring at his face that held a smirk on it.

"Well, hallelujah she talks" Cole said in a playful manner but the Alpha didn't respond as the smirk never left his face. Cole seemed like the carefree one.

"I'll join you in an hour's time" the Alpha said before turning his back and walking away. I wondered where they could probably be going by this time and moreso walking with their bare feet in the woods until I heard a loud gunshot but it wasn't the type for war.

There was a different type of sound the gun gives off and it was only used for a specific purpose. The marking and bonding of wolves. There was a full moon tonight so I guessed that was why it was fixed for today.

"Let's go!" One of the men said to me and held my hands but this time he didn't drag me like he was some moment ago, but was now gentle with me, leaving me shocked. I had no idea why they were being all so nice to me.

I do hope this wasn't a scheme to make me happy before they would probably cut my head off. Similar to what we do to our food, we take care of it before eating it.

In no time, I finally arrived In the front of an enormous mansion. I had thought the Serene pack had the biggest pack house but I was clearly wrong. This was way bigger than any other pack house I know, not like I know more than one.

"Right this way " The wolf led me through some really expensive hallway with chandeliers hanging on the ceiling and some quite expensive rugs on the floor.

The rest of the wolves had departed the moment we got to the pack house leaving just me and one of the wolves. After leading me into a room that was twice as big as the one I had back then in the Serene pack he began to scratch his head like he was looking for words to say.

"Uhm, sorry about earlier. We're cool right?" He asked with a big smile on his face showing all of his crooked and stained teeth. For a very big guy, he wasn't as tough as he seemed. Hell,all of them weren't tough on me especially after my meeting with the Alpha.

"It's fine" I awkwardly bowed my head to him and it made him release a heavy breath of relief.

"I'm Eddy, call me whenever you need me" he said and walked out of the room, closing the door behind and leaving me standing in the middle of the room, not knowing what to do.

"Oh shit, I forgot to tell you this " Eddy opened the room door with an awkward chuckle.

"You should take your bath in the bathroom,I'll send a maid to deliver clothes and you'll eat with the Alpha when he is back " he said and waved his hands before finally leaving the room.

Today was definitely an awkward day for me with the amount of twists and turns and the number of people I've met today. Hopefully I won't forget their names by the time I sleep and wake up.

I pulled off my clothes and walked into the bathroom that definitely didn't seize to surprise me, it was just as enormous as the house and they were freshly lined up towels that smelled like new ones.

I got into the tub after I had let the water heat a little and the moment the warm water touched my skin, I felt all of my tensed muscles losing but my mind was still unsettled with the thought of me running away from home. Alaric would be heavenly in search of me and furious,I just do hope that he doesn't hurt anyone I love, especially Ariel since she was the only one I cared about in that pack.

If things go pretty well here then I might as well make this my home and I would surely find a way to reach for Ariel through her social media accounts but that will only be when everyone would have forgotten about me or at least when the news would die down.

At least, without me around, Asher and Tala would be able to continue their romance in happiness with the thought of me gone or probably dead. Depends on what their mind chose to picture me as.

"Fuck" I cursed when I realised tears were flowing down my eyes. I immediately rinsed it off and stood up from the bathtub.

With a towel wrapped around my waist, I walked into the bathroom to meet new sets of clothes on the bed. It made me happy but why was I getting this type of treatment? I hope it won't end up being the same with Alaric's who ended up being possessive.
