Intrusive
Landon
I didn't know what to say now and I put my hands in my pocket.
"So, have you-" I stopped talking as I heard someone knock on the door. I looked at the door and glanced at Viktor.
"Are you expecting someone?"
"Did someone come with you?"
Viktor walked to the door and he opened the door. I noticed that he looked frozen to see whoever was at the door so I walked up to him and I froze too.
It was the same youthful beauty I saw in Viktor's memories, "It was their Grandpa."
"My boy," he smiled and I looked behind him, but he wasn't here with anyone. It could be an ambush, maybe they came here through the back.
Viktor who looked like he was in shock slowly backed away from the door and his Grandpa walked into the building with a wide smile on his face.
"I'm so happy to see you," he said, but Viktor didn't say a word and he moved away from him.
"How have you been??"
Viktor remained silent for a while and his lips quivered before he replied, "Fine."
"That's good to hear," his Grandfather stated with a smile.
"Although, the reverse has been the case for me ever since you left," he added and the smile on his face changed into a look of heartbreak.
"I never stopped thinking about you since then and everyday, I prayed that I will see you again," he continued and I scoffed.
He finally paid attention to me and he looked at me from my head to my toe and back again.
"I'm Pedro," he introduced himself and I nodded without giving him a reply.
He looked away and faced Viktor again.
"I know that you almost missed me. So many exciting things have happened since you left," Pedro continued and I folded my arms over my chest.
"I forgive you for running away, you can come with me and we can start all over again. We can do a lot of things together," he said and despite how much I didn't want to interfere, I finally talked since Viktor wouldn't.
"Forgive?? You're going to forgive him?" I scoffed and unfolded my arms, "I think you've gotten it the other way round, and no, he cannot follow you. In fact, he doesn't want to have anything to do with you again!" I said quickly and Pedro faced me in annoyance and irritation.
"Don't you speak so rudely to me. He's my Grandson and he loves me more than you think," Pedro retorted and I scoffed again, chuckling slightly. He was a really delusional man.
"I think he wants you to leave instead," I replied and Pedro scoffed, facing Viktor.
"Rhazien, tell him that he's wrong," Pedro said and I looked at Viktor who still looked stunned.
He glanced at the both of us and slowly shook his head.
"He's right. You need to leave," Viktor said and Pedro looked surprised to hear that.
"It's okay," he said and put on a wide smile, but his fists clenched behind his back said different things.
"I hope you have a nice day," Pedro said and he turned around to go. I followed him to the door and opened it, nodding outside. He stopped as he got to the door and glanced at me.
"Good day," he nodded and smiled lightly before walking out.
I closed the door with a sigh and I turned around, but Viktor wasn't there.
Where did he go??
I felt paranoid about Pedro's presence here. He seemed so okay about Viktor asking him to go and for a man who would like to have Rhazien back and use him as a weapon, he has some mischievous motive. I wouldn't stay the night here if I was Viktor.
I walked out of the sitting room, trying to figure out where he went. I stopped walking and honed my wolf hearing to listen well.
I heard the sound of running water and I quickly walked in the direction of the sound.
I stopped in front of a door where the sound was coming from, and I gently knocked on the door. I didn't get a reply and I placed my hand on the door, slowly opening the door and looking in.
It was a restroom and Viktor was leaning over a sink with his head down. I think I could hear him crying silently. I felt worried for him, everyone he tried to avoid and forget was suddenly reappearing in his life.
"Viktor-" I closed the door and I walked closer to him.
"Are you okay?" I asked and I placed my hand on his shoulder. He shook my hand up and looked up with tears in his eyes and a wet face.
"Am I? Do I look like I'm okay to you?" He asked, sounding annoyed and he turned off the tap.
"Vik-"
"Look Landon, for so many years, I've tried my best to live a secluded live as much as possible. I don't get involved in the matters of others and I don't appreciate it too," he interrupted me, using a face towel to wipe his face..
"I have kept this up for a long time until you showed up and since then you've showed an uncomfortable interest in my personal life and problem," he continued and I looked at him in shock.
Maybe he was right. I shouldn't have asked so much about him right from the start. I shouldn't have asked tried to know so much about a person that I just met.
I had been making him feel so uncomfortable and I didn't notice. Maybe I did, but I was just being too nosy.
"I think you're being too intrusive," he added and I nodded, moving back from him a bit.
"I'm sorry," I apologized, "I'll see you later."
I turned around to leave, but just as I got to the door of the restroom, he grabbed my hand from behind, stopping me.
