Chapter 76: Chapter 76

Pack Square
Natasha
"Not there," he said and he stretched out his hands, using his thumb to wipe the stain off the left corner of my lips.
He wiped his hand against his handkerchief without taking his eyes off me. I gulped as he stared at me with his bright blue orbs and I felt rooted to the spot where I was.
He slowly moved closer to me and his hands pushed aside a strand of my hair that was in my face.
He leaned in closer and with our faces so close, I could feel his breath linger on my skin.
His eyes flickered to my lips and I gulped again. Hard.
Oh My God, he was going to kiss me.
He leaned in closer with his hands at the back of my head and I closed my eyes, but just as he was about to kiss me, someone knocked on the door.
Damn it.
He broke away immediately, blinking like he just snapped out of trance and he walked to the door, opening it.
It was Nathan.
"Landon just called me. They are waiting for us," he said and Dante walked past him, leaving.
Nathan faced me, raising his eyebrow with an inquring stare, but I shook my head and also walked past him.
"It's totally fine that you two ignored me. It is," I heard him say behind me and he closed the door of my room.
I climbed into the car, seating next to Dante and I noticed that he shifted to the other end and looked away.
Nathan climbed in at the front and he started the car, driving onto the road.

The car slowly came to a halt at the entrance of Gemini's pack square and I gulped. Being back here brought back so many painful memories.
I felt someone grab my hand and I looked at my hand to see Dante holding it and squeezing it lightly.
He gave me an assuring nod before taking his hand away and climbing down from the car. I put on my most confident look and I climbed down from the car, following him and Nathan into the square.
As I walked through the square, I noticed that everyone was staring at us but I kept my head straight, trying not to look scared or intimidated.
We were directed to an the elevated podium and there were two sets of chairs at both sides.
I saw Alpha Jack, Alyssa and my father seated at one side of the podium. My eyes met with everyone one of them and I returned their stares before looking away and sitting down beside Dante and Nathan.
According to Nathan, Dante and Jack are friends so I really hope that this issue doesn't create a rift between them.
Elder Logan walked up to the front of the crowd and I didn't hear a word of what he was saying as I was too busy looking around and seeing the reactions of everyone in the square.
I saw that there was another podium in the square where a wooden stake had been erected.
One thing was for sure, I won't be the one who would be burnt on that stake. Even if Dante is unable to proof my innocence, I won't go down without a fight.
I blinked as I saw that Alyssa stood up after she was asked to explain what happened.
"Well, in high school, my sister began to show signs of extraordinary power that normal werewolves didn't have," she started and I folded my arms so I could listen to all the lies I knew she was going to say.
"I was happy and excited for her at first, but we noticed that the powers were beginning to affect her mind. Her body couldn't hold it and she was going crazy," she added, sniffing and I scoffed.
"I was desperate to help her so I asked my father for permission to go to the Petrova Sisters and after telling them my problem, I was given something to suppress her power every full moon so that she save he mental state," Alyssa continued and I squinted my eyes to see if the drop of tear at the corner of her left eyes were real.
They were. She was really a pretentious lying bastard.
"It was working for a while and everything was okay until when I found out Alpha Jack was my mate and she got jealous of me. Her craziness kicked in again and she started hallucinating that Alpha Jack was her mate, throwing tantrums in the house. Even the servants became frustrated at having to monitor and clean the mess she creates even though they refuse to say it," She explained with so much sincerity that I would most likely believe her if I was in different shoes.
"After the shameful incident with the prison guard, I confronted her and that was when she tried to stab me with a scissors in the heart. I would have died if Alpha Jack hadn't shown up," she said and sniffed again.
"Thank you," Elder Logan said and Alpha Jack softly pulled Alyssa down to sit with sympathy in his eyes. I rolled my eyes and looked away.
"Natasha, let's listen to what you have to say," Elder Logan said and I nodded, standing up.
I gulped, maintaining the confidence in my eyes..
"Everything that Alyssa just mentioned was all a lie," I started with that and people began to murmur.
"First off, my body was never too weak to control the powers I had and I never had a mental issue or throw tantrums as she said," I stated and swallowed, trying to process the words rapidly forming in my head before talking.
"And Alyssa never surpressed my powers, she was using magic to steal them for herself," I added and murmurs erupted in the crowd.
"Could that be possible??"
"She started winning conclaves all of a sudden."
"Was she stealing her sister's powers?"
"She kept doing this every full moon, and when I reported her to my dad, he replied that 'she deserves it more than you do'." I added and I paused for a while before looking at their seats and staring at Alpha Jack.
I was about to talk about the issue of mates so hope he was ready to listen to all of Alyssa's manipulations and deceit.
