Illusion

Dante.

You can tell your old man

You'll do some largemouth fishing another time

You just got too much on your plate to bait and cast a line

You can always put a rain check in his hand

'Til you can't

You can keep putting off forever with that girl who's heart you hold

Swearing that you'll ask some day further down the road

You can always put a diamond on her hand

'Til you can't

I pulled the gear as I zoomed down the empty road at full speed. It was after 10 in the morning and I wanted to get to the Petrova sisters as quickly as possible so I could begin my negotiation and have time to find another solution if my plan doesn't work.

I slowed down the car and glanced at the bottle on the seat next to me m, grabbing it and opening it. I scrunched up my nose as the nauseating smell from the healing herb filled the car.

I stopped by the clinic after getting dressed and Jared gave me this, claiming it would speed up my healing process and strengthen me.

I felt so nauseated and I gulped. If it smelt this bad, I can't imagine how it would taste like. Well, I'm going to need any energy boost I can get.

I scrunched up my nose and I slowly gulped down the content of the bottle. Surprisingly, the herb was completely tasteless, but it still smelt so fucking bad.

As soon as I finished gulping down all of the herb, I squeezed the bottle and I threw it out of the window.

I pulled the gear again and zoomed down the road at full speed.

I didn't know how far bad dreams go, but the dream I just had was on another level. Images of the scene kept flashing in my head and it scared the shit out of me.

I didn't want to love Natasha, but I don't think I can stand seeing another of my mate die especially when I can do something to prevent it..

I soon got to the house of the Petrova sisters and I parked the car in front of the building. I climbed down from the car and I walked into the building.

This was the second time coming here and it was just as confusing as before. They were

There were several passages and corridors leading to various places that were connected to each other.

"Come forth," I heard a dry whisper and I looked at the corridor where the voice was coming from

"Cone forth." I heard the voice again, but today, I wasn't going to do what they wanted.

They were going to come to me themselves and do what I want.

I wanted to meet with all the three Petrova witches. Not just one of them..

If I am correct, majors were more powerful when they lived together. They could channel power from the earth where their ancestors have been buried and from each other.

The Petrova Sisters didn't have this and they were so powerful so there had to be something they were getting their power from.

Whatever it was, it had to be in this building, somewhere in all of this connected corridors and walls.

And if I didn't know better, I would say they were hiding and protecting it with some sort of illusion.

Something that nobody else would be able to see.

Good thing I learnt that illusions are a play of light and sense of sight. If I could see, even if I get to the illusion, I wouldn't be able to consciously walk through it.

Let's just hope that I am right.

"Come forth." I heard the dry voice again, but I ignored it and I closed my eyes. I took out an handkerchief from my pocket and I tied it around my eyes.

I slowly began to walk forward with my hands stretched out in front of me to protect me.

Everything I could see was total darkness, and I directed my sight instinct into my hearing.

I tried to listen to every detail of sound around as I kept walking. I continued walking for a while and all through, my hands didn't touch a single wall despite all the corridors and walls I had seen before.

I was right. It was all an illusion. If my eyes had been open, I would see those walls and would even feel them.

I kept roaming aimlessly until I began to hear a sound and I stopped walking, listening carefully.

I could hear is slow dripping sound of water or........blood. I continued walking towards the sound and with every sound, I could spell the pungent stench of blood.

Mixed blood. It was a combination of Werewolf, Vampire and even human blood.

For the first time since I had been walking, my hands finally touched something. It felt like a wall, but it was wooden, a door.

I quickly took off my blindfold, but when I opened my eyes, there was no door and I was standing in the middle of a long dark corridor.

Illusion.

I closed my eyes and put the blindfold back on quickly. Stretching out my hands, I could feel the door again and I moved my hand around till I found a doorknob.

I slowly opened the door and I walked forward. I took off my blindfold again and opened my eyes. This time I was standing in a dark room.

There was some sort of altar at the other end of the room and there was a large clay pot below the altar.

There was overflowing blood on the altar, but instead of the blood to flow down, it floated in the air and fell in single drops into the pot every second.

Something told me that this was the source of their power.

I turned around and just as I suspected I saw three women wearing black cloaks step into the room.

Their eyes were dark and their lipsnwere sewn together. I quickly moved towards the altar and I grabbed the pot beneath the altar.

"Take your hands off it." I heard three different voices in my head the same time and I smirked.

Now, I had their attentions.

"I will, but I am going to need you to do something for me," I stated and I slightly tilted the pot.

"Don't!" Their three voices echoed in my head again.

"What is it that you want?" They asked in unison and I smiled.

"Everything there is to know about a particular client of yours," I replied and I let the pot balance on the floor of the altar.

"Alyssa Wolfe."
