Chapter 144: Chapter 144

Second Clinic
"What's her name?" I asked and I heard Riley talk in the background.
"She says her name is Kara," Riley replied and I sighed in frustration.
Ah, Fuck!
What the fuck is Kara doing here?! How does she know this place?!
"Alright. I'll be there soon," I said and I opened the door of my car, climbing in and starting the engine.
I drove back to the estate gate quickly and pulled over by the side of the road.
I climbed down and slammed the door shut, going to meet Kara who was leaning on her car outside the gate.
She looked up as she saw me and she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Kara, what are you doing here?" I asked, but she seemed annoyed.
"Where is Natasha?" She asked.
"Kara-"
"Nathan, where is Natasha?" She asked.
"There's a clinic in the estate. I took her there," I replied.
"Oh. Doesn't Mr. Rivera live here too? How is it the three of you live in the same estate and why wasn't I allowed into the estate?" Kara asked with a raised eyebrow and I sighed on the inside.
"There have been attacks in the past, we tightened security measures to avoid attacks again," I replied.
"Alright. I want to see Natasha," Kara stated. See her?!
We didn't normally let humans visit or come into the estate, but how could I refuse to let her see her friend who is supposed to be in the clinic.
"Alright, Hold on," I said and I walked to the guards.
"Do you know where Dante went?" I asked.
"No, but I saw him leave with Delta Nico and other men," One of the guards replied. I was right, he went on a fucking mission and didn't even bother to check his phone for messages or phone calls.
I created a telepathic link with Jared, "Jared can you go over to the mansion and take Natasha to the clinic real quick. It's really urgent."
"Okay," Jared replied.
I cut the telepathic link and walked back to Kara.
All of a sudden, I heard a loud, deafening sound I saw an explosion far into the estate.
I moved back instinctively.
"A bomb! Oh my god!" Kara exclaimed and covered her mouth in shock.
I gulped as I heard screams and cries of pain and struggle.
Kara tried to walk past me, but I quickly pulled her back, "Kara, what are you doing?"
"Natasha is in there, we have to do something," she said and tried to shake my hand off, but I held on to her.
"No, you can't go in there, it's dangerous."
"And Natasha is in there!" she retorted. Immediately, there was another exposure and she flinched.
She almost fell backward, but I quickly caught her and pulled her back.
Oh, God! What's happening?! Is this what Natasha tried to warn me about?
I have to do something. I have to find out what's happening and stop any other bomb from exploding.
"Wait here, I'll be back," I said and I quickly ran back into the estate. I climbed into my car quickly and I drove to the second place where I heard the bomb explode.
I realized there was a clinic in that area and I gritted my teeth, but that wasn't Jared's clinic.
I quickly created a telepathic link with Jared.
"Jared, where are you now?" I asked, pulling the gear as I drifted into the street on the left.
"I'm still at the clinic. I wasn't able to leave because of the explosion," Jared replied and I could sense his panic inside my head.
"Alright, stay where you are. I'm sure Natasha will be fine," I assured her.
Two bombs had been detonated now so there could be more. I just have to think of where the next one would be and find a way to stop whoever is planting and detonating this bomb.
The first one was detonated in the street with all the shops and supermarkets, the second one was detonated at the second clinic.
They were targeting places where the bombs would take out a lot of people.
The first clinic! Where Jared was! That had to be it!
I slowed down the car as I neared a T-junction, trying to decide where to go. Whether to try stopping another bomb from detonating or to help all the helpless patients at the second clinic.
Where was everyone when it was fucking important! When lives were at stake! If Dante and the others were here, we would be able to search for the intruders and help victims at the same time.
I finally swerved to the right, pulling the gear. If there's another bomb, then I have to try my best to prevent others from getting hurt or worse.
I soon got to the clinic and I brought the car to a screeching halt in front of the building.
I climbed down, slammed the door shut, and ran into the clinic.
Jared ran up to me as he saw me, "we heard the explosions. What is happening?" He sounded scared.
"We are under attack and I think this clinic might be next," I replied straightforwardly.
"Where's Alpha Dante?"
That ass was nowhere to be found and he wasn't picking his damn calls.
"He's not around. We have to evacuate the clinic immediately."
"Alright. I'll get on that," Jared said and ran away, his long overall coat swaying to his movement.
I turned around and ran out, standing at the front of the clinic and looking around.
I couldn't hear anything apart from the distant cries. What if I was wrong? What if there were no more bombs.
Every minute I spend here is a minute I could use to save the life of someone injured or trapped.
Or what if, the intruders were going to attack the main pack mansion. There was one there except Natasha and if they do anything to her, she would likely manifest as the Tribrid and solve this.
I was about to run back to my car and leave when I saw someone jump down the roof of a building, holding a black bag.
Gotcha.
