Cassandra Lancio

I opened my eyes slowly and the first time I saw was the white ceiling. I started to look around and I'm at the hospital. There's no one here.

I looked down to see an IV connected to my hand and I sat up slowly. I need to get out of here because I need to keep my promise. I just woke up but my mind connected really quickly. I pulled out the IV from my hand and slowly got off from the bed. I fell down since my body was still too weak but I need to get out of here.

I walked to the door slowly and felt my whole body aching so much. I looked at the big bandage on my body. I opened the door and started to find a way out. I don't care..

"So you're leaving me again?" I froze and turned my head to see Marco standing not far from me. His shoulder was bandaged and I turned my head away from him. I walked again.

"You're trying to protect me by leaving but you're hurting me more by leaving." He said but I kept walking until I fell down because I was too weak. I felt tears come out of my eyes. I slowly got up again until Marco held my body helping me to get up.

He pulled me into a hug and I was crying in his arms. He hugged me so tightly.

"You hurted me enough, stop running away." He said and that made me cry more. He caressed my back but I was crying so bad in his arms. I miss him so much.

"Please don't leave me again."

"I'm sorry.. I can't" I said sobbing and he held me tighter.

"I'm not going to let you leave again. I wi-"

"You hurted because of me!" I pushed him and he looked at me shock

"This is why I rather die than stay alive!" I bursted and he looked at me in disbelief. Suddenly the nurses caught me, they forced me to get back inside. I kept trying to run away but it was useless. The doctors helped the nurses too to get me back.

"Let me go!" They injected me something until I went back to sleep again.

I opened my eyes and turned to the IV again to pu-

"Stop trying to get away." I froze hearing Marco's voice again. I turned to him and he was sitting on the chair beside my hospital bed.

I ignored him and pulled my IV again. He caught my hand and I pulled it away from him. I got off from the bed and walked towards the door. Suddenly the door opened, revealing Marco's family, Matt and the 7 Gold Lifes.

"I'm leaving." I said looking the 7 Gold Lifes and Matt

"You guys hid this from me. You all know that she's alive!" Suddenly Marco bursted angrily and made me stop.

"I was the one who wanted this." I turned to him and looked at him straight to his eyes.

"What?"

"I was the one who wanted this.. I was the one who asked them to keep it secret." I said and he looked at me with his eyes full of hurt.

"I'm leaving.. don't find me again." I said to him and I looked at the 7 Gold Lifes and Matt one last time. A promise is a promise. I walked out from the hospital room.

I walked towards the lift and pressed the button when suddenly Nicholas Lemiere stood beside me. We got into the lift together.

"Thankyou for protecting Marco." He said

"I'm sorry that I was so clumsy until I brought him to danger again. I promise you tha-"

"Kolen's dead. No one will chase you again" Nicholas cut me and I turned to him

"I don't think so.. someone will come-"

"You're under my radar now, no one will dare to touch you." My eyes widened and we walked out from the lift.

"I'm allowing you to see Marco again but now it's your decision if you-"

"No.." I said before he even finished his sentence

"I've seen him hurt a lot because of me and I don't want to repeat it again. I don't want that again. I'm going to disappear again but this time.. I won't be clumsy again. I promise." I said as I looked down to the ground trying to prevent my tears to fall down

"Please don't." I turned to the side to see Marco's mom

"Don't leave him again." She said

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Hastington. I can't. I hurted your son if you don't know. I can-"

"Please.. he suffered a lot. For months he went to the doctor for therapy. He's not himself for months and he can't function well. Please.. We forgive eve-"

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Hastington. I would rather not repeat everything again. This is the second time and I involved him into my mess and I don't want to drag him to be drag for the third time. I can't predict the future.. I might be in your radar but I'm dealing with a mafia. I can't just be with your son even though Kolen was already dead." I said smiling to her

"I'm sorry.. Mrs. Hastington. I have to go." I said and she looked at me sadly. I turned to Nicholas

"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry for everything. Thank You too for putting my family in your radar, sir. I can't thank you enough but now I won't interrupt all of you again. I promise. I will keep my promise serious this time." I said to Nicholas and he nodded. I turned my body and started to walk out of the hospital.

"Cassandra" I turned my head to see Luke Hastington running towards me.

"I'm sorry, sir. I will-"

"Please stay with my son." He said and I looked at him disbelief

"Sir, I can't. I d-"

"If something happen in the future, we can solve it together. You know we're the 7 Gold Lifes right? We can solve it and handle it together. So please.. stay with my son."

"I can't sir.. I don-"

"Please.. he suffered enough. As a dad, I saw his downfall because he thought you were dead. He kept locking himself inside his room, crying, drinking, punching the walls and mirrors. He can't sleep because his nightmares. He can't eat properly. He can't function, Cassandra. It was our fault for seeing him like that while knowing that you're still alive. As a dad, I felt my heart break every time seeing him so sad. We went to a lot of doctors to help but he can't recover fully. Only you who can fix him so please stay."

"Stay.. we already forgave you. You did everything for him and now it's his turn to do everything for you. You've sacrificed enough. You've done enough so please.. please stay with my son." He said. Suddenly Lauren walked to me, she held my hand and slowly pulled me back into the hospital. My tears was starting to fill my eyes

Do I deserve to be happy?

"You do.." Suddenly Lauren said and I turned to her blankly. The lift door closed and we went up.

"You deserve to be happy. Thankyou for protecting my brother. Don't leave him again. Please.." She said and tears started to fall down. We got out from the lift. She slowly held my hand and pulled me back towards my ICU room. The 7 Gold Lifes were already waiting for me in front of my room earlier and they were looking at me along with Matt and Christian.

"You've done enough, Cassandra. Welcome to the family." Matthew said and smiled. Lauren led me back to my room and Marco was still sitting there looking at the hospital bed blankly.

Lauren released my hand and walked out from the room.

"Why are you crying idiot?" I asked and he turned to me. His eyes widen and he walked to me. I slipped my arms around his hips and hugged him tightly.

"I'm sorry.. I will never leave you again" I said and he started to cry. He hugged me back tightly and caressed my back.

"If you do.. I'll find you no matter where you are" He said and that made me smile.
