Chapter 52: Chapter 52

MIA

It's been a month since the day the war ended. A whole month of no worrying and no fear. The pack could go on with their daily lives in peace.

Noah and I have been doing good. We have been talking about our future a lot. Talking about what we want for ourselves and for Kieth. I have started to get back into my healing again. It felt so good to do it. I have been making new salves and new medicines for the pack. It felt amazing knowing I had a purpose.

I had also officially become a part of the pack about three days after the war. I did the ceremony with Noah by my side. I had officially been labelled as the Beta Female. It felt right to have such a title that matched Noah's. I think it made us even closer. More tied together.

I felt that I had everything I had ever wanted. Everything I had ever needed in life. Except one. I needed to do one more thing before I felt officially complete and content.

I am currently in the woods. Flowers were blooming everywhere. The trees are turning into green leaves again. The fire had really damaged the place. Carrow and a couple of her other witch friends from her coven offered aid in healing the forest. Now it looks even more beautiful than it did in the first place. As I was walking I took a deep breath. I felt nervous for some reason. She's not a scary woman. My palms became sweaty as I see her up a head.

As I stand before her. I just look. I took a deep breath and with my whole heart I say, "Hello Eleanor, my name is Mia," I bend down on my knees and looks at the purple flowers of where Noah's wife is buried, "I am Noah's mate. And I know that you are his wife. I just wanted to say that I got your letter. I know that as a wife and as a mother you would be scared of what type women might come into their lives once you were gone, but I'm here to let you know that you don't need to worry. I love those boys with all of my heart, I would do anything for them. I would die for them. And I will take care of them. You were already such a good mother to Kieth...I will try to do my best in your stead. I will try be a good mother. I will try to be a good mate and wife to Noah. So don't worry about them anymore. I'm going to take care of them. So please Eleanor...rest...and be at peace knowing that your boys are going to be okay."

I stand back up and take another deep breath. It felt right doing that. I think I had to tell assure her that everything was going to be okay.

"Mia." I turned around to see Noah leaning against a tree.

"Hey."

He made his way towards me and say, "What're you think you're doing?"

"I felt like I needed to let her know that the two people she loves most in this world...are going to be okay. And that I will love them for the rest of my life."

Noah'smouth forms into one of his rare smiles, "And that is why I love you so much," he leans down and kisses me. I link my arms around his neck and kiss him back.

He pulls back and says, "I want to show to something."

I tilt my head and squint my eyes slightly in suspicion, "Okaayy. What is it?"

Noah smirks and says, "Close your eyes."

I cross my arms and arch my brow in question, "Is this a prank?"

Noah laughs and shakes his head, "It's not, love. Seriously, please trust me and just close your eyes."

I roll my eyes playfully and say, "Fine."

As I close my eyes, Noah takes a hold of my hand and guides me as he leads me to wherever the hell he's leading me to.

NOAH

I hold her small hand in mine as I lead her to our destination. I was a bit nervous. I just really hope she likes it.

"Noah you're freaking me out, just tell me what it is!" She exclaimed.

I chuckle and say, "No can do, love. It won't be a surprise if I tell you, now will it?"

She groaned but I knew she was excited to see. As I made sure she was okay as I lead her, the surprise came into view. My heart was beating fast. I have been working on this everyday for a month. I hope she likes it. As I positioned her right in front of it I say, "We're here, you ready, love?"

She smiles and says, "I'm ready."

MIA

I was nervous and excited to see what this surprise was. Maybe it had to do with Noah working extra Beta hours? Whenever I asked about why he was working late, he was always vague about it. He made the excuse that he just had to do extra beta things. But I knew that there was something up.

As he positioned me he asked me if I was ready. I sure was.

His hands lifted from my eyes and I opened them. My heart stopped. My breath left my body as I behold the most beautiful cottage I have ever seen. I was shocked. It was big, but not too big. It was just right. There was a garden of flowers with a gazebo in the middle. The front porch had cute seats and tables.

"That empty space over there next to the flower garden is where you're going to plant your herbs." Noah said while pointing in the direction.

Tears stung my eyes. I was silent. I didn't know what to say.

Noah stood in front of me and took a hold of my shoulders, he looked at me in the eye and said, "You never really had a home, Mia. You never really had a proper family. You never felt safe or loved. Every time you look at this cottage, I want you to know that this is your home where we are going to be a family, I want you to know that you are safe. I am here. I will protect you, I would die for you. And most importantly, when you walk through those doors, know that I love you with all the pieces of my heart Mia Maverick. You are loved and you are important. This is your home Mia. You belong here, with me, with Kieth, with this Pack. You are not alone anymore, love."

Tears streamed down my face. I guess I knew everything he was saying, but hearing the words so clearly adds a whole new level of depth. For so long, I was alone. I had no one. Now I have a whole pack. But most importantly I have a mate, a home and a family. I'm not alone anymore. That was my worst fear. That I would walk this earth alone and leave it alone. But I know that, that is not the case. I have so much more than what I could have ever dreamed.

"Thank you, Noah," His face blurred through my tears as my bottom lip began to slightly tremble, "Thank you for everything. Thank you for giving me this home, thank you for giving me a family, but most importantly...thank you for loving when I most needed it. I love you Noah Maverick. With all of my heart and soul, I love you to the ends of the earth."

I jump into his arms and he catches me. He wraps his arms around my waist as I wrap my arms around his neck. We embrace each other fully. The feeling of us together is amazing. Who knew I would be here at this point in my life. Maybe there is a God afterall.

But suddenly Noah put me down and pushed me behind him. I gasped and said, "Noah? What is it?"

"I hear a heartbeat near by."

We both were silent. Noah was searching the area for any threat. But he frowned when he couldn't track down where the heartbeat was actually coming from.

And suddenly, Noah's eyes widened. He turned around and looked at me. He just stared for a long time, till I broke the silence.

"Noah? What is it?"

"It's you." He said breathlessly. He then slowly fell to his knees and faced me stomach. He grabbed a hold of my hips and laid his ear against my stomach.

"Noah?" I questioned.

He looked up at me with his eyes sparkling, "The heartbeat is in you, Mia...you're pregnant."

That night I decided to have Xander's family, Eddie's family and Soul over for dinner. I wanted the first meal in this cottage to be a big family meal. And that is definitely what it was.

I look at the big table of people and couldn't help, but smile. Everyone was laughing with each other. The children were playing while the mothers were holding their pups. The males were all boasting and laughing as they do. Noah was quiet as always, but he was laughing along as well. This made me happy. This is what happyness looked like. It wasn't perfect because none of them or me was perfect, but...it was my kind of perfect. And I loved them all.

But then Noah stood up and hushed everyone down, "I wanted to thank every single one of you here. All of you have contributed to not only my life, but Mia's life too. I will be forever grateful. I know that because of Mia's wounds that she wouldn't be able to bare pups. But by the grace of God, we have proven that wrong."

Everyones eyes went wide.

Noah coughed in his hand and said "Mia and I are expecting a baby."

All the women screamed in joy as all the men covered their ears.

"YUSS GIRL!!" I just laughed in joy. I felt the excitement in the room.

The women rushed to me and gave me hugs and kisses. The men also came over to me. They did not touch me, but they all gave me a congratulations. I had the biggest smile on my face.

I looked to Noah and see his eyes were on me and they were soft. He was happy that I was happy...and that makes me happy.

"Hello?" We all fell silent when we looked at the front door which was opened. There stood a little boy. I tilted my head, he looks familiar. Everyone was on full alert.

He had tears in his eyes and he looked scared. He was wet from the rain that was outside.

Xander stood forward, "Who are you, pup? You are not of this pack."

The boys sniffled. His big doe eyes scanned the room cautiously as if he was trying to find someone. Then his eyes landed on Soul.

The little boy points to him, "Is your name, Solomon Nightwalker?"

Soul had a serious expression on his face. He stood forward and said, "Yes?"

"My name is Milo Nightwalker, I am the son of your mate Ayla...you are my Papa. I need your help...mama's in trouble."
