Chapter 56: Chapter 56

Sheng Zhou and George were the only only chatting on the table of seven while Lily was busy talking to Sanna. The three young men had been sitting all quiet all along.

Noah who was supposed to arrive in ten minutes, never came so Adrian really didn't lie when he said Noah couldn't make it.

"Miss. Sheng, you seem to like kids a lot. Did you know the Andres kid from a long time?", Ryan asked curiously. Lily shook her head and replied without glancing at him, "Mhm.. we met a while back."

Aiden and Ryan were stunned given they had not seen her smile from the smile she came to the party but right now, she seemed to be a complete different person. Lily was laughing as she talked to the kid.

Even Aiden who treated her in the last year's had never seen her smile or interact like this with anyone unless it was her grandfather.

After around fifteen minutes, a young man came to their table. "Kiddo, don't you think you should have informed me before coming here? I was worried."

The familiar voice made Lily freeze on the spot which didn't go unnoticed by the other three men especially the one who had his eyes on her since he arrived at the venue.

Lily looked up to see a deep frown on the man's face whom she loved dearly. Her lips curved up in a smile when she saw him but it disappeared when the next words left his mouth.

"I just left for a while and you're already offending people!"

Lily scowled upon hearing him and was about to speak when Sanna immediately stood up and apologized before she walked away. Lily was taken aback by Sanna's reaction.

"Mr. Collins, Mr. Sheng, I apologise for interference. I hope my daughter didn't bother you much", Sam said and gave a small bow. "No, she didn't. She is a sweet child", Elder Sheng said without much reaction while Elder Collins agreed.

"Thank you for taking care of her, Miss...?", Sam turned to Lily but didn't know how to address her. "Sheng", Lily completed for him to which he nodded and left.

While everyone had dinner, a certain pair of eyes seemed to be stuck to Lily which she obviously noticed but she didn't bother to look at the person. Adrian looked at the table to the right and noticed Sam looking at Lily.

The rest of time, Lily had a poker face and an unapproachable aura was surrounding her.

A while later, two middle aged men and women came to their table. Lily bowed to them since she knew they were from the Collins family given they address Elder Collins as father.

"Lily, this is my eldest son and his wife and this is my younger son and his wife", George introduced to which Lily gave a small bow in respect. Since they were her old man's close people she would show respect unless they get unbearable.

The two couple smiled at Lily.

The old lady of Collins family was a chinese lady so the younger son had similar small eyes like his mother while the elder son looked more like George. Adrian's mother was also a chinese. Her name was Xia Lifei but her English name was coincidentally Jennifer as well. Adrian's aunt was Italian.

Jennifer came towards Lily as she complimented with a bright smile on her face, "The media must be blind to call her ugly and rebellious. She is such a good child and so beautiful."

Lily quietly sat on her chair without giving any reaction.

"So true. She is indeed a beauty", said Alicia who was Adrian's aunt. "I can't deny", Ryan said in a teasing tone.

"Pretty child, do you have a boyfriend?", asked Jennifer looking at Lily with expectant eyes. Lily was taken aback by the straightforwardness of the woman.

Just as Lily opened her mouth to speak, Andrew, Adrian's father spoke. "Darling, you shouldn't ask a young lady such question and respect her privacy. Lily, don't mind my wife."

Lily simply gave a nod while the two couple immediately left the table.

"What? I was just asking in general", Jennifer said as she recieved a glare from her husband. "She is a special guest of father. What if he got angry? I don't want you to ruin his special day", Andrew said unhappily.

"Don't you see it, Andrew? Even father likes the girl. Also, our son is not getting any younger, we should grasp the opportunity while she is single and fix everything. I'd love her to be my daughter in law", Jennifer said with shiny eyes.

"But sister in law, don't you think she might already have a boyfriend?", asked Alexander, Adrian's uncle. "True though. It's better to be cautious than be embarrassed later on", Alicia said in a calm tone.

"Alicia, why don't you ask Aiden? He treated her in the last years, he must know something, right?", Jennifer asked as her eyes lit up expectantly. Alicia nodded as she said in a joyful tone, "Yes yes. I'll ask him."

The two women shook hands happily planning things for the wedding.

"But it had been more than half a year since her treatment got over. Don't you think she might have already gotten herself a boyfriend?", Andrew said in a doubtful tone to which Alexander agreed.

The two women glared at their husbands to which the two men immediately shut their mouth.

The Collins family had always been harmonious unlike other wealthy dysfunctional families. The two sons of George and their wives treated each other kids as their own and loved them which was why even the young generation of Collins was so harmonious.

Unlike the Sheng family, Collins never felt the need to spilt the wealth among themselves given that they had so much of wealth.

Adrian was given the main company, Collins Groups as he was the eldest and future head of the family. It wasn't forced on him given that he was interested in technology and finance while Ryan was the Vice-president.

Aiden was a doctor while Noah owned fashion designing company which was passed on by his mother who was a fashion designer. PC Styles was one of the top international fashion company. The old lady of the Collins founded the company which was later passed to Alicia.

As for Adrian's sister, Rose was the managing director of PC Styles and was currently planning to set a foot in the modelling industry once she returns.

"Ms. Sheng, are you afraid of my brother and that's why you aren't talking?", Ryan asked looking at Lily while he felt chills on his body from the man sitting opposite to him who was none other than his elder brother.

"Lily, don't mind this idiot", Aiden said and smiled but Lily did not seem to mind anything and continued eating her caramel pudding. After she finished her pudding, she wiped her lips.

"Lily, I heard you know hacking", George said as he looked towards her. Lily nodded as she spoke calmly, "I know a thing or two. Not much."

"Wow. Which university did you graduate from? And wait, when did you graduate?", Ryan asked in confusion since he knew she had been at home for the last two years.

"I learnt on my own", her voice came out smooth and pleasing to ears.

Everyone on the table were amazed by her talent while elder Sheng felt proud.

All of a sudden she felt her mobile vibrate in her purse so she took it out. She frowned when she saw the caller ID. She excused herself and went to the balcony to talk.

"Why are you calling me now? I told you I'd be busy", Lily said in a cold tone. "I know! I know! But you have to hear this. It's really important and I'm sure you'll go crazy once you hear it."

The voice on the other line seemed too stunned yet excited. The girl was sitting on her chair as she looked at the computer screen with her widely opened eyes as if they would pop out of their sockets if she tried to open her eyes more.

Her shoulder length chestnut brown wavy hairs were dyed purple on the tips and were tied in a half ponytail. Her grey eyes were covered with her glasses which made her look rather cute than a nerd.

Wearing a blue oversized hoodie and shorts, she looked quite youthful. She was a year elder than Lily.

Lily rolled her eyes and sighed in frustration as she spoke, "Cut to the point, Ella."

"Okay, okay. So listen..."
