Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Lily walked through the main door of the mansion while all the servants lowered their heads in respect, also because they could feel the murderous aura around her.
"What happened to my little lioness?", Old master Sheng asked as he walked in through the glass door of the living room. "Who dared ruin your mood?"
Lily did not say anything but her brows tugged together in annoyance while her lips tugged down in a scowl. "Nothing, grandfather. Just someone seems to have a death wish", she said as her lips curled up in a sinister smirk.
The butler gulped in fear hearing the way she spoke.
The old master chuckled since he could guess the name of the person. Today his son and daughter-in-law called him to convince Lily to get married to the boy they are choosing for her but when he denied they seemed to have called Lily directly.
Lily took a look at her grandfather then excused herself.
"Old master, young miss seems much angry tonight. What do you think will happen?", the butler asked worriedly as he looked at the disappearing silhouette of Lily. The old master laughed meaningfully and said nothing.
On the other side, Lily made a call to Kylie and ordered, "Fix a meeting with Julius Reynolds."
…
The next day, Lily reached Hotel Norland and went to the private room on the 14th floor. The manager opened the door for her and let her in first then followed behind.
Lily walked over and Julius smiling devilishly as he looked at her. Lily came and sat opposite to him then gestured the manager to leave. The manager bowed and left the two alone.
"So, why did princess call me here", Julius asked as he looked at her. Lily frowned and said in a cold tone, "Don't call call me that." He laughed looking at her and found it more fun to tease her.
Although the two were like sworn enemies, he found her cute everytime he annoyed her.
"Stop that laughter before I shoot in your mouth, jerk", Lily said as she controlled her anger. "Have some wine and chill, Xiao Li", he said annoying her more.
"Ugh! Stop calling me that or I swear I will kill you right here", she warned as she glared at him. "Ok, ok. Tell me why you called me here", Julius said in a serious tone.
"Oh well..." Just as Lily was about to talk, the waiter knocked and entered the room with the trolley to serve them their food. Lily stopped the waiter when he was about to serve her wine to which Julius raised his brow.
"The little Sheng who loved to drink wine is denying for it today. Why?", Julius asked curiously as he dismissed the waiter. "Nothing that you should know", Lily said rolling her eyes at him.
He did not find anything weird since she was always like that.
"I want to kill someone and I need your help", Lily said as she took a bite of her Alfredo. "Oh my! The world famous assassin needs my help. What an honour!", Julius said exaggerating things as he lowered his head in respect making her roll her eyes at him.
"Don't overreact everytime, it's annoying", Lily said clicking her tongue in annoyance. "Anyways. Who is the one that's on your target?", he asked sipping on his wine.
Lily smirked sinfully.
…
Rahim knocked on the door and a voice came from inside the office. "Come in."
Rahim went in and said to Sam in a confused tone, "Bro, some Kyra had been calling on your old number from India." He gave Sam the phone while Sam raised a brow when he saw the Indian number.
"It's wifey's old friend. But why is she calling now?", Sam asked in a confused tone. "I don't know. Just call and ask her", Rahim said and walked out of the office.
Sam called the number and it was picked up almost immediately. "Hello", rang voice of Kyra on the other line. "Why did you call?", Sam asked in a cold tone. He didn't like her much.
For him, she was the reason why his wife died in the last life of hers.
"I'm getting married to Shane, Sam. If Jen was alive she would have definitely come but since she is not here with us. I want you to attend my wedding in December. Also, bring your daughter and others too", Kyra said in a calm tone.
"I see. I'll come if possible. Bye", Sam said and hung up.
Sam took his other phone and called Lily. "Guess who is getting married", he said as soon as she picked up the call. "Who?", Lily asked as she read a file.
"Dear dear K.O. She called just now to invite to her wedding with that hoe of hers", he said as he played with the pen in his hand. "Oh. You should go then, it's her happy moment", Lily said as she remembered the last time she saw Kyra.
"You're going with me", Sam said firmly leaving no space for argument. "I'll be in India anyways that time for some meetings. Grandfather is sending me", she informed to which he hummed.
"Ok then. By the way, will you be coming tonight?", he asked hoping for an yes but to his disappointment she denied. "Baby, I can't come everyday for now. I promise you that I'll come live with you forever after a while."
"Are those Shengs bothering you too much, wifey? Should I wipe them off?", he asked as he missed her. His hands itched to caressed her soft skin and hairs right now. He wanted to kiss her and hold her in his arms and never let her go away from him.
He once did the mistake of losing her but no more. He won't let her leave or lose her at any cost this time. Not just because he loved her way too much but also because he would die this time if he lost her.
"No, it's fine. They aren't a bother. I can handle them", she said as a smile appeared on her face. "I miss you, my love. I need you", he blurted out making her stop reading while her heart skipped a beat when he said that in his low tone.
Both of them went quiet for a while but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. Although the two were alone in their respective offices, it felt peaceful.
"I want to marry you again, my wifey. I want you, kiddo and our coming baby to live with me. I want to take care of you. Marry me now", he said making her heart beat faster.
She bit her lower lip without saying anything. "Was that a proposal? If it was then it was too unromantic of you, bastard. I won't marry you this time unless you give me a nice way", she said in a hushed tone.
Her heart skipped a beat when his chuckle rumbled on the other side of the call.
"Don't worry, I'll give you the best proposal this time and a grand wedding too", he said as he thought of a plan. Lily chuckled and nodded as she spoke, "Sure. I'll be waiting for it."
She played with the ring in her finger and smiled contentedly.
