Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Epilogue
Jasper's POV { Eleven months later}
It has been Eleven months since that incident.
Many things changed after that. For good.
Things really turned out to be great. It was a new beginning for all, after all. Daniel did go to jail for what he did to Ava. He was supposed to go to jail for three years for what he did to Ava but because of his other crimes, he was sentenced for twelve years in jail. I was glad that we would live our lives for twelve years in peace until he finally walks out of that place. I would be ready when that happened.
Things had changed in my personal life as well.
Charlotte had successfully started her own business and was running it alone in Italy. During this short time period, she also got married to a guy she met in Italy. She invited both Ava and me. Unfortunately, we did not get to attend it. Ava's delivering date was between that time period, but Charlotte did not take it on her heart. To compensate, I sent her some luxurious gifts.
She kept me updated on what was going on at her place. Ava and Charlotte had come on friendly terms. Sometimes I even caught Ava talking on her phone behind my back.
Charlotte had left my office to become one of the famous fashion designers of our country. She had become one of the most famous fashion designers since her Blue Royal Cruise fashion designs had made her famous.
However, the highlight of the year had been Ava giving birth to a healthy baby, without any disease that the doctor worried about, one that Daniel had asked Ava to kiss her for, and Ava becoming a mother. But most importantly, I became the baby's father. Official one. On the birth certificate, the baby's father's name was mentioned as Jasper Grey.
ME.
I had done all the paperwork and everything that needs to be done in order to be the father of the kid. And now, in the eyes of the law, I was officially his father. Him. Because it was a boy. My boy.
Ava and I had named it, Herrick.
Ava's POV
Things have changed. I had become a mom, and Jasper a dad. Once when I was pregnant, I had thought about if Jasper even wanted to take care of this baby. If he was only faking love because of me. Or would take care of it as a way to just have me, but then I was proved wrong. He proved me wrong.
Every night of cramps and pain and discomfort, he stayed by side. Holding me, rubbing my belly lovingly, talking to my baby.
"Don't kick your mom, baby. You can kick your dad instead, when you come into this world." He'd said. More things like had been said by him, and I couldn't be anymore grateful. When Herrick was born, Jasper almost passed out. However, he handled himself pretty well. He had taken into his big arms and whispered lowly to him, "My boy." My heart melted at the sight. Especially when Herrick grabbed Jasper's one finger and did not let go.
Jasper had laughed like a little kid, showing me that Herrick wasn't letting his finger go. "Our boy is just as strong as us, Ava." He had said.
Chuckling, while a few tears managed to escape his eyes. It was such a loving and heartwarming sight.
I looked over at the kid in the crib and smiled. For now, he was sleeping in his crib silently. I was glad that Maria was here, otherwise taking care of Herrick would have been a nightmare. He woke me up at the odd hours of night asking to be fed or cleaned up or woke up just to cry. Maria had helped me through all of this. Jasper had been here too. But work has been one of the causes for him to be away.
I had taken off from work for a few weeks. Since I left Jasper's office, with his protest being over the top, the work had been more intense than usual. Especially, because now I was leading my own team.
There was a knock on the door before it slid open slowly. Maria's head looked inside the room and she gestured to me to come outside. Not speaking because she knew it would wake Herrick up. No one wanted that to happen.
I stood up from the bed I was lying down and walked outside, closing the door behind me as quietly as possible.
"What?" I asked in a quiet voice. She did not say anything, just gestured for me to follow her. Which was strange. I did follow her. She led me outside. When we finally emerged from inside the house, I saw that Jasper was waiting for me outside with a rose in his hand. As soon as he saw me a bright smile adorned his face and he handed me the flower in his hand. He was not wearing anything fancy or anything, it was evening so I did not know where this was going.
"What's happening?" I asked him in a whisper. He gave me a dashing smile before he grabbed me by hand and walked around the house, which had been turned into a backyard garden on my request, and walked me to it. At last when we finally reached it, he pointed at the middle sized box and pointed to it.
"Open it." He said. I gave him a suspicious look and he laughed it off. Finally, I did as he had asked me to. I walked toward that box and opened it.
The face of a puppy, a German shepherd, popped right up. It let out a whine.
I gasped and looked over my shoulder at Jasper with a surprise cry. He grinned at me, seeing my reaction but then he pointed at the puppy once again. It was then when I noticed, on the collar of the puppy was written something.
Reading the title had me bursting into tears.
"Will You Marry Me?" It asked.
I said, Yes.
