Chapter 89: Chapter 89

Victor left immediately after the sunset. He didn't want his Surrogate to wake up before him. He didn't know why she was so nosy

Countless times she bothered him. Even when he was rude to her it seemed nothing worked on her. It disturbed him greatly that he failed to concentrate on anything

He had asked Jason to be her driver for the day if ever she wanted to go around the city and explored since he knew how women were about spending their time outdoors bonding with nature

Unfortunately, he didn't think it was a good idea to let her run around alone knowing she was a magnet of trouble. He just hoped she stayed away from anything that would make him angry and thinking about it, he failed to concentrate on what he was doing especially when the men before him brought in their wives. All of his old friends were married and their wives followed like bees following honey

He felt uncomfortable because he thought the meeting would only be among men and no women which was why he didn't think of taking his Surrogate knowing she'd get bored hearing about business transactions and profits

"Mr. Ellison it's a pleasure to finally meet you...my husband wouldn't stop talking about what a successful man you are"a lady he didn't even know but was a wife to one of his friends said and like a good man he nodded as he sat there sipping his wine occasionally just to pass time. He already glanced at his watch and it and been an hour and he had not had a profitable word with his partners hence just wasting his time praising him

To him, a second was worth millions. He had so many great businessmen to meet  while he was here but that wasn't likely to happen when they were overpraising him

"I tried her...your owner, the largest private hospital in London, not just that but the central Bank is yours...indeed we are lucky to be a part of this"one of his old friends and business partners, Felix, was into construction while Zion was a wine man. He wanted to explore both worlds knowing Felix was a shrewd man who knew how to crack deals. He earned more than he bargained for. He built nearly every resort as well as a hotel that existed hence he had to make sure he trapped successful men to his side. Zion was just a family man who liked to run behind fruits and explore different flavors. He wasn't an alcoholic but it shocked people how he found himself part of a wine business.

"Is everything okay man...you seem distant? "Zion asked seeing how Victor was behaving as if he didn't want to be a part of the meeting

"I thought this was only a meeting for men...I know you can't function without your women but I need to have a serious meeting with both of you"Victor simply said with a straight face. He wasn't smiling nor did he show any reaction or joking around. The two women exchanged glances wondering why he was so-called

"Mr. Ellison, if you think our presence makes you uncomfortable we'll take our leave, "one of the ladies said, Felix's wife Ella as Victor had heard Felix introduce her. He didn't like her gaze at her.

"That would be wonderful. Victor said more seriously and the ladies ended up laughing to mask the awkwardness in the room. Of course, Victor was serious and once his friends talked to their wives he took time to glance at his watch and another thirty minutes was lost. He took his phone from the table and swiped it on it. The moment he opened it he was stunned. He never opened any social media account but his brother did that and what popped out was

"What?" he muttered when he saw his Surrogate's pics. She seemed to be having fun not just that but she was at a park. Yes, she was looking pretty in whatever she decided to wear. He had to say she was a full package full of doubles but he asked the driver to be careful and call him to ask if he could take her to such places and see every pic that popped. She was smiling and taking selfies with animals

In the last post, she asked if she could ride a horse. Victor felt anger boil inside of him.

She was pregnant and carrying his child, where on Earth did she get the idea of riding a horse in her situation

"Okay that's settled...shall we start Victor"Felix turned to him and said

"Sorry about…"Zion started but Victor was already on his feet. He looked angry that the two men were surprised at his mood. He didn't even answer them when he was already out the door. Currently, the three of them had taken some time to lounge in one of the hotel's private rooms for meetings. The conference room was occupied hence he walked away from there heading towards the exit of the hotel.

He should have known sending her outside and giving her so much freedom would bring trouble.

Since the grumpy man gave me full rights to do as I wanted I chose to have my breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The food wasn't so lovely or tasty like what Victor makes but I had to eat quickly for the baby's sake

I was happy to go and the driver he left was obedient, he took me to explore the city everything felt right because I kept on clicking pics at every corner

"Ms. Is this fine?" the lady Victor asked me as she took two more pics and I nodded with a smile. I loved animals and the park I came to was beautiful. I had to say seeing animals and taking pics with them was a good thing. Later I was going to see all the pics I took.

I also took some with kids playing with swans by the lake. They were so beautiful that I took one in my arms and now I was taking pics with horses. I would have loved to ride one but I was pregnant hence I only posted a few pics on FB and asked if I could ride one.

"This is perfect...great...and this one too...how lovely," I said cheerfully as Mandy and I walked to the nearest bench and sat down. The horses had been taken inside their space and we sat just away watching them. The man in charge told me so many things about animals some I didn't remember but I was happy to see all the right pics

"Mandy this one is terrible do you…"I was about to show Mandy one of the hideous pics she took of me but I stopped when I was receiving a call from the person I didn't know had my number. I didn't remember him ever calling me but now

"Victor?"I was stunned to see his name. I debated to answer it but I didn't know why he was ruining my afternoon. I rejected the call and smiled

"Come let's go to the lake and see more swans...I think a picnic will be fine...did you arrange for the tent?"I asked Mandy about the tent I asked her to arrange for me. This was my chance to have a little picnic of my own. Victor was ungrateful and I wasn't going to answer his call no matter what. Unless he learned a little niceness would I tolerate him for now he had to suffer but why exactly was he calling me constantly

"Ms. Everything is set...you can have your picnic," Mandy said with a smile immediately after we got to the area and I was stunned to see the setup. It was nothing like I imagined and the lake view was breathtaking that I twirled at the sight, the beautiful trees invited pulled me closer as the cool breeze swept me away that I let my hair down. The day was slightly sunny but it was okay for me especially since there was no grumpy man around.

Meanwhile, Victor was about to have a nervous breakdown trying to call his Surrogate. This was the first time he bothered to call her knowing she was probably doing something risky. He didn't even know why he dropped what he was doing and was running to her like some mad man but for the sake of her safety which was also the safety of his baby. He had to run to her and stop her craziness

"Damn her...you are so dead Vivienne" he muttered angrily as he slammed his phone in the seat feeling irritated. He was away from the park and the driver was taking his time driving the car. He was irritated with his Surrogate but he had to get to her before she went horse riding as she said.
