From the hospital, I wanted to go to the apartment and get my things but unfortunately, Victor was in his boss' grumpy mood. He didn't even allow Maverick to see me again, not sure why but he banned Leo and Justin from seeing me.
I wanted to talk to Cassy but the man refused and I went straight to his car
It was like he was all moody hence I just entered the front seat of the car since he was driving. I relaxed and embraced my ride.
It was late at night maybe after midnight hence I leaned back to the car seat and relaxed, closing my eyes lightly. The car started moving and I was well aware of his presence. My body felt heavy and weak hence I didn't know that I was slowly drifting to sleep and my head was slipping towards Victor. I jerked back to reality when I heard some car noises, I was a little confused as I looked around and the car had stopped at the traffic lights. I yawned lazily and went back to sleep. This time I didn't want anyone to disturb me and I felt nice as I snuggled to the closest thing to me. I didn't care as I snored away to my heart's content.

"Now this is life ..with that Surrogate gone...I feel fine" Monica said as she stretched her arms and sat on the couch and took a glass of wine Julia was handing to her and led warmly. Kyan frowned as he stopped writing and looked at her with a questionable glance which Monica saw but just arched her brows at him and smiled as she took a sip of wine and leaned back
"I think the house was more lively with her around...it hadn't even been two days and I'm so bored" Juan complained as he slammed the pen in his hands hard on his book and slammed it shut. He was irritated with Vivie, yes she was annoying on another level but it had been a while since the Ellison mansion felt so alive and her presence made a big difference
He was happy having her around, in fact after the drowning incident he wanted to teach her how to swim so that one day when she gave birth she could try out swimming as a hobby as he did but now everything was so boring that Monica talking made him even more irritated
"Come on...that girl was nothing but trouble"Monica remarked, sounding angry, at least they now had some peace without Victor running around all over the place trying to save his Surrogate. Victor was always on the move and slept with one eye open not sure what sort of danger his Surrogate would bring even in her sleep but kyan didn't think so
"Are you sure...it seems to me that you enjoyed having her here...she made mistakes and you lectured her like an elder sister"kyan said with a sly smirk when she looked at Monica who stopped drinking his wine and made a thinking face. Did she enjoy having the Surrogate girl around? The only thing she recalled was Vivienne getting on her nerves that she was always angry but now she didn't have to trouble her mouth to talk non-stop about the same thing
"I still think my bro will bring her back...she's safer here, especially with my nephew or niece in her belly"kyan said with a shrug as he took his phone to check the time and both were up until after midnight. He was supposed to finish his assignments for the next day when he'd be having another lecture.
He had gone for his swimming training and forgot he had school work and now Monica was punishing him to finish before going to bed and he was irritated and tired and lazy. He wished Vivienne was here. In the last assignment, she helped me and she was a good listener
"I think my bro loves having his Surrogate around"Kyan blurted out realizing something he noticed about Victor that he thought wasn't possible
"What nonsense!?"Monica choked out her wine and said between coughs as she glared at Kyan who just said something so ridiculous
"Have you seen him...he tolerates her...last time I found them cuddling in bed together...it was so romantic"kyan said with a mischievous smile recalling how he accidentally woke up early in the morning. He wanted to see how Vivienne looked in the morning. If she was naturally beautiful or an ugly duckling with drool all over but when he got to her room and entered without knocking which he regretted doing. He was stunned to see his brother cuddling his Surrogate in his arms. She was sleeping like a baby in his arms. She was small but fit perfectly well in Victor's arms
The sight was so shocking to see but above all, he liked the idea. She was annoying and at some point, he thought she was trying hard to have Victor like her but she didn't have to do anything when her innocent nature was already drawing Victor to her
"She's only his Surrogate okay...Victor only treats her nice because she's carrying his child"Monica lashed out feeling angry, she didn't know Victor would spend the night in his Surrogate's room and hold her in his arms
"I think Victor is secretly doting on her"kyan said his mind and Monica was about to explode from anger
"That's not..."she started but was cut off when she heard a door opening
"Don't think so...check it out"kyan muttered in a low mischievous voice as he pointed towards the entrance to the hallway which led to the stairs and when Monica followed his gaze, she was stunned with what she saw that she immediately saw who just walked in with him in his arms cuddling her like his own wife or girlfriend
"Victor?"Monica said as she walked towards the stairs where Victor was heading to with Vivienne in his arms. She seemed to be sleeping and was wearing Victor's black jacket around her
"Bro...you brought her back...yay!"Kyan exclaimed, smiling from ear to ear as he jumped up, seeing that the person he wanted was back. Victor didn't spare then a glance as he ascended the stairs leaving them standing there like they were nothing
"What rubbish, "Monica said out of frustration as she stormed back to the living room and dropped down on the couch angrily. Kyan was humming to a dance tune as he moved his body
"Uh-huh...she's back...oh yeah...she's back...and my brother brought her back...and I said it" he murmured the song as he swayed his hips like a girl and passed right where Monica was sitting fuming like an angry lion but he didn't care as he danced to his victory
"That fool, I was going to find the culprit who wanted to kill her"kyan heart Monica mumble angrily and he stopped dancing and singing as he turned to her with narrowed eyes
"Vivie said she has her suspicions but no proof, "Kyan said and Monica widened her eyes
"And who is it?" she remarked but Kyan shrugged as he took his phone and backpack after packing his books and walked to the stairs leading to his room. Monica sighed heavily, she was desperate to find the person who wanted to kill Vivienne. She knew it wasn't Vivienne they were targeted by the baby she was carrying hence who tried to kill her nephew knowing the baby was the closest thing she had of her sister and she was going to sit still.

Victor was disturbed especially when he reached the mansion only to realize his Surrogate was snuggling on his shoulder with her arms hooked around him. He failed to think of a way to wake her up when she was sleeping and snoring
But he knew he had to get used to his situation hence he got out of his car and walked to the other side and had to carry her inside. He didn't want to disturb her sleep there he got her out of the car, wrapped his jacket around her shoulders since she was shining and was cold and he carried her inside the house
He was aware of his behavior toward her. He understood the kind of girl she was by now and when he carefully laid her on the bed he covered her with a blanket and supported her head with soft pillows until she was comfortable. He wanted to leave her and go to his room but he found himself rooted in one place looking at her
She had an innocent face, he thought girls with innocent faces were misleading and pretenders but she was real. She didn't hide anything she felt which made him wonder if she had any brains in her head
"Who are your parents?" he muttered as his eyes fixed on her. He already had information on her background and from what he found out, she didn't have any family. Leo told him she was raised in an orphanage. He ordered Jason to ask around and the orphanage said she was thrown out because she stole from them and that too at the age of ten
"Don't you feel lonely?" he asked, not sure why he was concerned with someone who was just a surrogate for nine months. He wasn't supposed to care about her or her family but for someone like his Surrogate, he was curious. She didn't make it obvious that she had no family
She was always smiling, causing trouble. He wanted to know more from her
Victor shook his head trying to calm himself. Seeing her made him recall what he did and he wanted to avoid her hence he switched off the lights and only left a night light on and turned to walk away but something stopped him and without even knowing what came over him he bent down to her face and planted a kiss on her forehead, his eyes closed automatically as if savoring the feeling he got and when he drew back his eyes opened and his lips quivered upwards but suddenly maintained his cold aura and left her room without looking back.
