(Vivienne)

"Are you sure sweetie...it's been a while since I saw you"Cassy said and I turned around and smiled at her. I wanted to go back to my old apartment but recalling the old lady's bad behavior I chose to find an apartment somewhere else and I managed to get one where Cassy was renting.

"Yes, Cassy...you didn't have to invite me here plus...I already wanted an apartment on the second floor" I said not sure while Cassy was acting so nice to me. She was right, it had been a while since I saw her. After the restaurant incident, I had so many things going on that I didn't think about anything else other than my problems

"You don't look fine sweetie...is everything okay?" she asked me with her eyes narrowed, as if she could read my thoughts. I smiled and nodded as I took off my coat and set it aside. I loved the apartment because it wasn't so big. It was just a one-bedroom apartment with a decent kitchen dm a small living room

"I'm fine, just tired...tell you what... I'll sleep this one out, and then tomorrow we catch up so you can tell me how work is going, "I said, still smiling. Her apartment was next to mine and I was happy about that. I was so tired that I just wanted to sleep. My eyes were begging me to close them

"Okay fine dummy...you look a little weird...you've gained a little"Cassy whispered with a sly smirk as she sized me up. Her eyes were narrowed shrewdly as if thinking about something else. I frowned and looked at her with a disdainful look. She was being ridiculous. I was just the same size

"Not a chance...I'm fine okay" I remarked more hesitant, not sure if I gained as she said, she laughed at me as she smacked me on the shoulder and I ended up laughing knowing I missed the old days with her. She was like a big sister to me despite everything that happened between us. We were still friends and I respected our friendship a great deal

"Alright...as long as you are okay crazy girl...I missed you at work" she said with giggles and I ended up chuckling as well recalling the crazy times she and I shared. I knew how I troubled her most times then I ran late for my shift. She never refused to cover for me

"It was so funny... anyways I think that boss of yours would have fired me anyway, "I remarked when Cassy and I walked to the kitchen. So much for trying to send her away hence I decided to invite her for dinner. I already got what I needed.

I was still pregnant despite being far away from Victor and his family. That was why I had to take care of myself and eat right but now Cassy and I were just going to make some pasta

"I know...so where have you been huh...the last time I checked Mrs. Smith told me you found a job, "Cassy said while taking things out of the shopping bags. I frowned, not sure why Mrs. Smith told her such a thing. I went quiet and Cassy looked up at me with a suspicious look

"Well I did but not anymore...I'm just tired"I replied before she could ask me anything else. If I told her that I was a surrogate now and pregnant. She would get upset and scold me and would be very disappointed hearing I switched to something risky

"I'm not convinced...where is the crazy Vivie...the girl who never missed a day to crack jokes huh," she said and passed by me walking towards the stove before she playfully bumped into me and I was helpless. I was the same Vivienne she knew,

I didn't change at all so why was she saying such a thing. I took some tomatoes and walked to the sink to wash them. I went quiet thinking deeply about my life. My time at the mansion was a little lonely although it was different that wasn't my world

Monica maybe I was trying hard to fit in when I didn't belong there. I was never a part of them nor would I ever be hence I smiled knowing I did the right thing leaving

"Okay, so how …"Cassy turned to me and said but stopped when she found me holding my head. I didn't know how but suddenly I was feeling terrible. My head was spinning and I felt nauseous. My abdomen area was hurting like he that I failed to keep calm

"Ahh!"I screamed as I reached my hands for my stomach. The pain was too much to bear that my knees weakened

"Vi... what's wrong?"Cassy panicked and ran to me. I was in so much pain that I couldn't stand it. She held me and I was slowly losing consciousness. I could keep still as the pain intensified so much that I started having short breaths

"It's...it's...hurting Cassy", I mumbled as I leaned my entire weight on her. My body was shaking in her hold that she became anxious

"Tell me...what's wrong Vi... Vi open your eyes...Vi"I only heard her faint voice calling into me and her cold hand patting on my face and I lost contact with the world. I couldn't hear anything or feel myself.

Cassy was agitated and anxious as she paced at the door to the room Vivienne was in. She didn't know what was wrong with Vivienne or why she suddenly fainted. That was why she rushed her to the nearest hospital and now the doctors were there treating her. For the past thirty minutes, they had been in there. No one was telling him anything

"Please...is she okay...what's wrong with her?"Cassy rushed to the nurse who had just gotten out of the room but she shook her head and prepared to walk away

"Please tell me...how is she?" she asked not wanting to let her go until she knew something about Vivienne

"Ms. Please calm down...the doctor will be out soon" the nurse replied and walked away just like that and Cassy has left in suspense again. She didn't know what to do. Her mind was so chaotic that she didn't even feel like sitting. The place Vivienne was brought to was rather quiet and more private

This came as a surprise to her because when they arrived she was entirely disturbed to notice that no one asked her to pay the bills. This was a private hospital she brought her to. The closest hospital she could think of and now that she was back to her senses she dug in her purse and rushed to the reception

Maybe if she paid something then they would treat her

"E...excuse me...how...how much is the bill?" she asked the nurse sitting at the reception and the lady stopped what she was doing and looked up at her

"Patient name," she said and clicked a few keys on the computer. Cassy cleared her throat awkwardly

"V... Vivienne Payton"  she said and waited for the lady to say something but when the lady looked up at her. She seemed calm

"No charges for Ms. Payton, "the nurse said and Cassy was surprised, she didn't believe it because she knew how these private hospitals worked. They charged for their services unlike public ones

"Are you sure...I'm going to pay any amount"Cassy said more desperately, were they joking with her so that later they would humiliate her about not paying. She was already angry and frustrated

"Ms. Payton has a frequent appointment here...she doesn't have to pay when she comes, "the nurse said and Cassy's eyes widened in shock. She wanted to ask more but she left from there.

Why on Earth did her friend come to such a place and that too frequently. Was she sick or did she have something serious? Cassy was troubled as she walked aimlessly but accidentally bumped into someone

"I'm...I'm sorry," she said regaining her wits and she lowered down to help the man pick up whatever he dropped but just as she was about to touch the files he had

"Don't touch…" he said and when Cassy looked up at him with a confused expression she didn't know why he was rude to her

"I'm sorry I didn't..."

"Stupid," the man said disdainfully and walked away. She remained standing there surprised not sure why he was so rude but she shook her head and walked back to where Vivienne's room was and to her luck she reached just in time as the doctors came out

"Ms. Cassy?" the good looking doctor said with a warm smile and Cassy felt relaxed at his approach

"How is she?" she asked instead and the doctor smiled

"Don't worry she's fine...for a pregnant woman she just had some abdominal pains...I gave her some meds and…"  the doctor said in one go but Cassy was shocked. She didn't hear right or was he just making misconceptions.

"Pregnant? doctor this isn't a joke...she isn't pregnant, "Cassy remarked more hesitantly, when did Vivie get pregnant. Everyone knew she didn't indulge herself in sexual activities. She said there were so many things to do  better than having a man to entertain so

"She's my patient...are you her friend...I never knew any of M. Payton's friends...nice to meet I'm doctor Maverick"the doctor said in a friendly way but Cassy was still shocked. She blinked a few times as if trying to process whatever was happening but she didn't even acknowledge his hand he put forward for a handshake when she pushed him aside and rushed straight in Vivienne's room and luckily she found her awake although looked tired and weak

"C... Cassy?"Vivie muttered hoarsely and knew what happened.
