Chapter 79: Chapter 79

Leo was pacing back and forth in front of Victor. For the hundredth time, he had asked Victor what was wrong with him. Why was he acting so strange and why on Earth hasn't he been back home for the past five days. He was acting so strange that no one was about to understand him

He was extra angry, he gives six of his good and capable employees in a matter of five days

He was grumpy before but now he was cold, he didn't care about anything else. He wasn't even bothered about his surrogate like before and now he was just working ignoring his friend as if he didn't exist

"Okay...so let me get this straight...you left your own house and now you are living who knows where"Leo said as he turned to look at Victor. His hand rested on the desk hoping his friend would look at him but Victor was too occupied on his laptop to pay attention to Leo. For over thirty minutes he had been in his office and Victor hasn't said a word to him

He was beyond frustrated as he slammed his fist on the table

"Fuck you damn it!"Leo cursed loudly as he slammed Victor's laptop so hard and shoved it aside. His breathing was heavy and his nose flared as anger flashed in his eyes and all of it directed at Victor

"Whatever it is we can fix it," Leo said more calmly knowing getting angry wouldn't take him anywhere hence he calmed his nerves and looked at Victor

"Get out now!"Victor made a low yell although he was trying hard not to yell. There was anger and rage to his voice and Leo knew any better than to stay there but he she to find out why Victor was acting so stupid and ignoring everyone

"I'm not leaving...I know you are still hurt about Alisa...please you need to stop this okay"Leo pulled out a chair and sat down but he rose to his feet as if sitting was uncomfortable

"Just go already...if she needs anything, call me," Victor said and rose to his feet. He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone who wouldn't understand him. He was already upset and talking to Leo made things worse and he didn't want that

"It's your child we are talking about...at least think about that"Leo remarked trying to make sense out of everything but looking at victor, he seemed bitter and cold. Yes his friend was still hurt after losing his wife but he was getting better, especially with Vivienne around but now he was so careless. A lot means that he didn't listen to anyone

"Leave now"just like Victor said and Leo stood there without saying a word. He was done and if Victor wanted to be alone for the rest of his life and cry over someone who didn't even bother to tell him she was sick

"At least look around you and see people who care about you...she loved you yes...but if your love was strong then...she would have told you the truth as the man she loved," Leo said and tapped his fingers twice on the desk and turned to walk away. Victor didn't dare look up or say a word as he remained seated there and when the door closed with a loud bang. He slammed his fist so hard on the desk that the pain he felt couldn't be compared with the pain residing in his heart. He betrayed Alisa, he betrayed her. No wonder she was taken away from him. He did so many bad things by his actions. He created from the very beginning and now he was paying for that the hard way

He loved her very much and promised to only love her but the moment he looked at another woman with such eyes

"I'm...I'm sorry Alisa...this will not happen again...you are the only woman I love and will always love...no one will dare replace you"  he muttered as he opened his wallet where he kept her photo. She was everything he loved and it was his fault that she died. If he cared about her enough. If he wasn't so bitter about the fact that his father shattered all his dreams by forcing him into something he didn't want then he would have paid more attention to his wife. Maybe...just maybe she would have shared her pain with him but now he was nothing but a traitor

"No woman will ever take your place...I promise" he murmured as he reached her pic to his lips and kissed her with eyes closed. No one understood the kind of pain he was feeling, no one

It was late at night and Victor had already got back to his Villa. He never used this one frequently but he bought it for him and Alisa. In the past, he always planned their escape after they had a little one. If their little one troubled him and his wife then they would run here and make love all night. He and everything prepared

The villa was the only one there and was surrounded by a lot of space. It was quiet and perfect and after freshening up. He settled for gray jeans and didn't bother about wearing a shirt. He took some water from the refrigerator and walked to the lounge where he set up his work. It was rather cold and coffee would have worked but he hated coffee now. He didn't finish his work back at the office because all his employees were irritating him but now he dropped on the couch and set his bottle on the side table. He checked on his phone and it was still early. He had at least three hours to do his work and sign some documents

Just as he was about to open his laptop the doorbell rang, surprising him as to who it was that came. He wasn't expecting anyone and no one knew of this place hence his eyes narrowed as he set all his files on the couch and rose to his feet

He didn't want anyone to bother him hence he strode to the door angrily knowing if it was Leo then he was a dead man

"I fucking told you not to…"Victor lashed out as he said immediately he opened the door but soon he stopped when he saw the person standing there wearing a long brown coat. She was facing the other way with her back facing him and he had the urge to close the door but it was too late when Vivienne turned around and smiled as she held her purse to her front

"Hello sir," she said innocently, shivering a little because it was frosty outside. It was snowing even more than the late afternoon and Victor was aware of how the area got so cold. It was surrounded by so many trees and hills that made it extra cold, especially in winter

"Leave now" he simply said bitterly and prepared to close the door but Vivienne was quick as she used her leg since she was wearing black ankle boots and prevented him from closing the door on her. It was late at night, what was she doing there

"I'm sorry" he heard her say when he was about to turn away, not expecting that but he hated her voice more than anything. He didn't even want to look at her after what she did and now she was standing in front of him obviously

I didn't know he would leave his own house all because of what happened between us. I tried asking Leo to find out where he was and to my surprise, he managed to tell me and that too after five days of Victor's absence. His behavior added to my guilt knowing I made a huge mistake

"I'm not here to stay...don't worry...I just wanted to apologize to you...I'm sorry for everything that happened"I said fiddling with the strings attached to my purse, I was so nervous that I didn't know where I got the courage from and came to him but I didn't want him to leave his own house

"I'll stay at my old house...I'll let Beverley know if I need anything and I promise to take care of myself and the baby, "I said seriously hoping he would say something but he didn't hence I did a low bow and turned to walk away

It was best I rented an apartment just for the sake of peace. I didn't mean to create so much drama in his life hence I already found a small apartment I was going to live in. With some of the savings I made to add to my fees, I tucked my hair behind my ears and walked down the few stairs which led down to the gate. I didn't take his car but I boarded a taxi hence I entered the taxi, looked back at the beautifully lit villa and

"Let's go"I mumbled and the cab driver nodded and drove away from there. I felt so bad but living alone and far away from Victor was the best idea. I knew I was carrying his child but moving in with his family was a bad idea.
