"Vic...you don't have to worry she's perfectly fine," doctor Maverick said and I was still not happy. When he said lunch. I thought otherwise but only to bring me to the hospital for a check-up. I was lying on a hospital bed wearing a light blue gown which was loose and tied behind.

Doctor Maverick had to do some sort of ultrasound sound as instructed by Victor because he was worried the baby might be harmed after the previous night's incident

"That's nice...does she need to take any tests or…"Victor said as he walked around the room and I was confused. Sometimes Victor acted like a typical doctor. He did things professionally that stunned people around him and at other times he acted like a clueless man who knew nothing about hospital work. I shifted my eyes to him as he looked at whatever he had in his hands and doctor Maverick walked to him

I couldn't keep my eyes off him. Sometimes I had the urge to ask him if he was a doctor and if yes then why wasn't he working in a hospital

"She's fine. I'm glad you did what was necessary to preserve her life" I heard doctor Maverick say with a smile as he glanced back at me and like an innocent girl, I smiled faintly and placed my hand on my belly. How long did it take for me to hear something or for my belly to become big? I was lost in thoughts, forgetting about the two men in the room who were discussing me. I just wanted to get this over with at least I'd be free to continue my life right now it was on hold and who knew what I was missing

"Okay so you are free to walk around now madam...I'll talk to Vic then get back to you"Maverick's voice snapped me back to reality and I tilted my head to face him and he was standing close to me while Victor was half sitting on the desk busy on his laptop

"Okay...then I'll say hi to doctor Justin, "I remarked with a smile and sat up with the doctor's hand placed on my back. He was kind-hearted and made me feel relaxed. I took off the gown and gave it to him before I walked to the desk where I left my purse.

"Sir...I'll be in doctor Justin's office" I muttered as soon as I stood close to Victor but he didn't even spare me a glance as he fixed his sharp eyes on the screens. I lowered my gaze and took my purse brushing against his arm since my purse was close to his folded leg then stormed away and left the office. I closed the door and exhaled in relief as I glanced at the time and it was almost nighttime

I walked towards the opposite direction where Justin's office was. I couldn't wait to say hi to him. For days I heard he had been busy with work that was why he didn't come to the mansion

"I should greet him fast before the grumpy man comes to get me, "I said and took to my heels. I turned to the left corridor and had to say, the hospital was kinda reserved. The second floor was for doctor's offices and only patients with appointments came here that was why it was cool and quiet.

Soon I reached the door to his office, I knocked lightly but there was no answer

"Maybe he's out"I muttered when there was no answer and turned to leave but when I heard something fall from inside I quickly pushed the door open and stormed in only to stop immediately and froze as my eyes widened in shock

"Mmm...yes more...deeper baby...yes"I heard a woman moaning desperately and I didn't have to guess when I walked in on something private

"Dear God" it was Justin who exclaimed immediately our eyes met and like a stupid girl I averted my eyes from the scene in front of me seeing how the lady beneath him was shocked to see me

"S...so...sorry, "I said regaining my wits and storming out of the room slamming the door shut and placing my hands on my mouth not believing what I saw

"Oh no...how stupid am I?"I scolded myself as I slapped myself a few times and glanced at the door one last time and walked away not sure why I didn't just leave

"Wait...is Monica and Justin...are they a couple?"I asked as I walked aimlessly. I just walked in on something private and that was Monica and Justin making love

I scolded myself not sure how I was going to face the grumpy lady after I saw her naked and moaning like a desperate woman. Both of them were naked and I just caught them

"S...sir,"  I said immediately I took a left turn back to Maverick's office but stopped when I nearly bumped into Victor and he seemed to be heading to Justin's office

"A..are you going to see doctor Justin?"I asked, stuttering the words out as my hands turned cold. And Victor nodded as he prepared to walk right past me however I quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him m back

"H...he's not there sir...I'm tired, can we go home now?"I said, trying to save those two from getting seen by Victor. How on Earth were they doing that in an office not like it was a crime since they were adults but with the damn door open. What if a nurse or a patient walked in and saw them doing that

"Okay...come," he said and walked towards the elevator. I exhaled in relief and ran after him hoping g those two stopped whatever they were doing

When we reached home I found Leo and Kyan in a heated conversation playing some video games. They seemed to be having so much fun that I wanted to join them

"Hey pretty face"Leo greeted me with a smile and turned his attention to his remote control while kyan glanced at me with a sky wink

"Hi troublemaker…" he said and both ignored me and continued playing their games. I shrugged in annoyance and left from there. They seemed too busy to talk to me he I decided to shower and come down so I could join them and play the game too

The thought of that made me smile knowing I was going to be doing something less boring

"I wonder if Vic knows that Monica and Justin are a thing" I was still surprised at that revelation. Those two didn't look like they would get involved but when I recalled how the two urged mostly Justin who got irritated with Monica. I knew only a couple could fight like that.

"Wait is Monica jealous because I talk to Justin?"I asked and turned off the shower realizing something. I was standing under running hot water but I couldn't stop thinking but I shrugged such thoughts away and got out if there

It didn't take long when I was fully clothed and wore my loose t-shirt and shorts and jumped on the bed. And took out some of my books

"Julia said... everyone was inside when I drowned...so who did it?"I thought out loud when I took out my phone. Everything was kinda blurry and going downstairs was out of the question. I knew Victor was already dealing with this but I was just trying to help it

*Knock knock*

Suddenly there was a light knock at my door. I put away my books and sat there innocently and pushed my wet hair back

"It's open come in!"I shouted to whoever it was and the door was pushed. I was surprised to see Victor walk in. He was dressed in matching black sweatpants and sweatshirts. He looked handsome as always and I wondered what brought him here to my room

"I brought you medicine...take it before...10:40 PM," the man said as he placed the bottle on the nightstand and I nodded at him.

"Okay, sir... anything else, "I said with a smile but he was acting strange. He could have sent Julia to bring the medicine but why did he bother

"Ms... Payton...it's best you stay out of this...I'm already investigating this...I'll find the culprit" he said turning to look at me and I sat there crossed legs with nothing to say. I nodded with a smile and scratched my neck awkwardly

"Okay...okay, "I remarked nodding at him hoping he could leave so I could study but he was hesitant "anything...else?"I asked with narrowed eyes but he just shook his head awkwardly. I didn't know what to do but saw his expression. It seemed he came for something but forgot or he was scared which sounded ridiculous

"Well... I'll take my leave... goodnight" he muttered and turned to walk away but my big mouth stopped him

"Do you wanna feel it!"I blurted out and immediately regretted my words because Victor turned around

"Huh ?" he seemed confused but I already said he could do it since he was the father. It was natural so no big deal

"The baby...I know it's small or...what I mean is..do you want to feel my belly?"I didn't even know what I was saying but I said it anywhere and Victor's eyes widened more like he was perplexed

"Excuse me"

"Here...it's your child, sir...if you want..you can feel my belly so you are assured it's in safe hands" I remarked more seriously knowing he was worried about the little one who was yet to show but still I was pregnant

"Ms... Payton" he   mumbled my name and I knew he wanted to but he was hesitating but I insisted leaving him with no choice than to walk closer to me

"It's okay…"I said and shifted around until I was comfortable and my belly exposed. I sat there while he sat beside me. He was hesitant and his hand was shaking. His brows knitted together as if pondering over what he had to do but I closed my eyes so he could feel his child and when his hand rested on my belly. I fisted the sheets tightly.
