I stood to the sides watching Victor get angry, when he approached I thought his anger was directed at me but he headed straight to Leo. It came when I was surprised to see Leo acting all scared. It seemed they knew each other well but how

"The main entrance is getting remodeled bro...I needed to use the pool area...this girl meddled in my affairs" I heard Leo say to Victor, he sounded nervous as he explained himself and I soon understood why the driver used the back entrance. I thought he didn't just know but it turned out this was the only way unfortunately Leo had a mind of his own. Being a celebrity had clouded his brain and made him think he was the best thing that ever happened to people.

I scoffed thinking about that as I enjoyed my time hearing him act like a soaked cat. The camera crew as well as the fans who were making noise were already ordered to leave hence it was only Victor, Leo, and I as well as the manager left but standing to the sides

"My apologies miss...the main entrance is closed since we are remodeling...we didn't know you are Mr. Ellison's guest" surprisingly, the manager turned to me and said with a low blow and I could sense sincerity from the tone of his voice but I just nodded to the man not sure what to say. I didn't know Victor knew it was me coming. I mean I didn't bother answering his calls because I knew he would get furious about me leaving the house even when he knew he needed my help.

Kyan wasn't around but I had his phone on my way. I was left with no choice but to send back a text just to keep him at ease. Although I was afraid of his reaction to seeing me deliver the files not Kyan. I would have answered the calls myself but this was Victor we were talking about, immediately he would have heard my voice, the man would have lashed out for me to stay away even if it was for his own good hence I had no choice than to go as Kyan

As much as I was helping him Victor was a cold man, I recalled how he told me not to meddle in his affairs not even when there was a life-threatening situation. Looking up at him I wondered why he hated getting helped the most it wasn't like he was some superhero who did things right

He had to understand that sometimes it was good to surrender and let others help you if you can't but I laughed at my thoughts knowing I too hated someone helping me. I hated pity the most and if people helped me, I considered it as them feeling pity for me

"Get dressed now!"Victor's low angry yell to Leo snapped me back to reality and I saw how nervous Leo was. It was tremendous seeing him so helpless and when Victor snatched the files in Leo's hand I stayed calm and got ready to defend myself once the man walked to where I was. I knew he was going to throw a fit instead of saying thank you. I guessed no one taught him how to say thank you when he was a little boy

"Sir...my apologies for this but Kyan wasn't around that's why I came here on his behalf," I said upfront without wasting much time. I had to defend myself in case he said I was seeking trouble and when I lifted my lashes I found him staring at me with intense eyes. There was no reaction on his face

"Meddling in my affairs is forbidden Ms. Payton...or have you forgotten" like I expected it he said to me and my eyes widened in shock. I did him a huge favor. I left my comfortable afternoon just to get the files to him and he called it meddling in his affairs, to which extent was his ungratefulness "life-threatening situation...don't jump and save the day" he added this time he whispered as he leaned closer to my face. I remained there frozen not sure why he was such a big jerk not to say thanks

"You know Mr. Ellison... sometimes just say thank you...it doesn't hurt"I lashed out and said bitterly, I didn't care who he was but I was done with his rude behavior. I wasn't trying to change him but his arrogance was beginning to get on my nerves and upon saying that I scoffed loudly and prepared to walk away.

I did what I came here for hence I was going back with my dignity intact unfortunately I didn't even walk past him when he suddenly grabbed my arm. Not so rough but with gentleness and pulled me back to his front and I was stunned what he was trying to do

"To satisfy your greedy ego...in case I get charged later for making you drive all the way here" he started saying as he let go of my arm and dug in his trouser pockets, I watched as he did his actions while looking at me his expression was blank hence I didn't know where the conversation was going but when he took out his wallet my brows creased instantly

"Here...spoil yourself and enjoy this place while you wait for me" like some Greek god he grabbed my hand and shoved the wallet in my hands. I was shocked as he leaned closer to my face but tilted his head towards my ears and mumbled

"Next time don't snoop around in people's rooms or their phones...it's called being ill-mannered" he added in a husky voice as he moved back and prepared to head towards where he came from and like a fool I followed his retreating form until he stopped where the manager was standing. He whispered something and walked away accompanied by two men who I didn't know had joined us

I remained there standing like a statue left out to dry in the scorching sun. My head was spinning from the hot harsh sun rays and my throat was dry.

"Looks like you saved the day madam...sir was agitated"the manager came to me and said with a light chuckle and I tilted my head to look at him. So he was anxious about the files but he can't admit to my face that I saved him.

"Please this way Ms... welcome to our resort" he added when he noticed I wasn't interested in his little speech of Victor, the grumpy man

"Okay...if I'm not going to get thanked for my good deeds...well I get paid for It...haha"call it greed but I loved getting paid after a good job and delivering the files to the grumpy man was hard work and since he already portrayed me as a greedy surrogate well how about take advantage of that and treat myself to a wonderful afternoon hence I happily followed the manager inside while I waited for Victor. Not sure why but I didn't care why he thought I should wait for him when I had my driver.

While Vivienne was about to make use of Victor's wallet given on a silver platter, the boss was already in his meeting listening to his partners talk nonstop. He wasn't interested in whatever they were saying although he had been rather anxious for the meeting to begin. It would have been a disaster if he didn't manage to seal the deal all because he left his files back home. In the absence of his secretary. He was helpless and when he tried calling kyan who he thought was supposed to be at home. His little brother wasn't answering hence he had no choice than to go back himself and take them but just as he was about to exit the elevator to the back entrance of the resort, his phone vibrated and a new message came(wait I'm on my way)he read it and he wasn't a fool because just one glance at the words written and he knew it wasn't Kyan

He knew his little brother more than anyone and the message he received he knew wasn't sent by kyan despite being sent via Kyan's phone therefore he knew who sent it and who was bringing the files to him

"Sir...we are glad to say our partnership will reach us to great heights," one of the men said but Victor was too lost in his thoughts thinking about his greedy surrogate. If she was expecting a thank you from him then she'd only hear it in her dreams if that was even possible. Although he was grateful for what she did. This time she jumped in and saved the day and he was happy, not sure why but he couldn't hold it against her

"Mr. Chang and I are happy to be a part of your company...the reputation your company upholds compelled us to travel all the way here just to meet you"

"Bro...with this, well all I can say is...the deal is already a success" this time it was Leo who added looking at his best friend sitting there we if he wasn't part of the meeting going on

Leo's eyes narrowed suspiciously wondering why Victor was behaving strangely in a meeting when he was supposed to be listening and taking part as the rest of them

"Mr. Ellison" another one called out to him leaning forward to tap him on the shoulders but before he could even get his hand on Victor one look from him stopped the man Midway

"Sign the documents once you read through...I'll take my leave now"just like Victor prepared to walk out but soon stopped wondering what he just said. This was important he had to concentrate and Leo had his eyes wide from shock seeing his friend behave unlike himself and the four men present looked at victor with narrowed eyes 'damn it, he wasn't thinking me he told his surrogate to spoil herself because one look at his phone and he was getting bank messages of the money being deducted from his account which meant Vivienne was having a blast, he gave her his wallet full of cash so why was she using his card instead?
