Chapter 41: Chapter 41
(Vivienne)
I shifted my body a little and slept on my side. I've never enjoyed sleeping in my life like I was. From the soft bed to the sweetly scented linens to the pleasant atmosphere. The gentle cool breeze caressed my legs and I slowly curled in a ball.
I smiled in my sleep as I snuggled to the soft pillows which smelled familiar. I knew of only one person who managed to attract my attention just by his natural scent and that was Victor.
If he knew how he smelled then I was sure he would feel proud because I was a fan of how he smelled although it sounded so silly
"Hmm" I groaned in my sleep and tossed to the sides until I found a comfortable position. I didn't feel tired or in pain anywhere hence I slowly turned to lie on my back and lifted my hands to my eyes and rubbed gently while yawning a little.
I could hear birds singing and chirping which indicated morning. It was morning already and I smiled as I flickered my lazy eyes which felt heavy.
It was another beautiful day. I smiled at the thought of waking up to a day full of surprises. Unlike before I didn't have to worry about myself or what I was going to do. Being a surrogate was different.
I was under someone's care although it sounded too good to be my reality. But still, I was not used to this kind of life or being waited on as they did
"What time is it?"I mumbled and fully opened my eyes only to gasp loudly when I looked around and the room wasn't mine
The design of the room I was in differed from my normal room and looking around I nearly collapsed as I jumped up out of fear
"No no...he's gonna kill me" I cried out and landed on the floor. I looked around just to be sure it wasn't a dream but reality slapped me across the face because I was in Victor's room.
I slept on his bed and when I shifted my eyes to the open window, it was bright. The sun was shining bright which meant it was the next day. How on Earth did I sleep in his room? I recalled playing with his puppy, I wanted to go but I found myself chasing him even on the bed.
It was fun and good while it lasted but I didn't know why I ended up falling asleep and even if I did fall asleep in Victor's room then why didn't anyone wake me up.
"I'm so dead...I'm so dead... he'll kill me" I mumbled as I rushed to the door, I couldn't afford to stay any longer because if I did then the chances of Victor killing me were there.
I slightly opened the door and peeked out to check if the coast was clear. Of course, the passageway was empty. No movements whatsoever hence I bit my lower lip and slipped out of the room and prepared to rush to mine but I didn't even get far when I stopped nearly bumping into Kyan.
I stopped immediately and scratched the back of my head wondering why Kyan was up early in the morning and showing off his upper body
"And look who we have here...the little witch...has anyone told you... you look just like that little scary doll... Annabelle"Kyan said sarcastically as he stopped right in front of me and crossed his arms over his toned chest. His words were nothing sweet it wasn't like I wanted to hear him say anything good
"Oh...look here you little vermin...you made a mistake...your brother is mature enough to know the kind of brat you are"I retorted with a snarl as I fixed my cold eyes on him. He wasn't happy with my words and I didn't care. He could get angry and fume all he wanted. I saluted Victor for seeing how irresponsible his little brother was hence Kyan had no power over me
"Don't be so cocky...you living in my house doesn't mean you are one of us…" he countered back sarcastically as he extended his arms to the sides.
His expression was that of mockery that I just wanted to slap him across the face and wipe it off but I knew he was right.
The truth hurt more than anything else and I had no way of defending myself when I was just a stranger
"My brother only sided with you because you are expecting his child...he doesn't give a damn about you little girl…"kyan added with a sly smirk as he scoffed disdainfully and he started walking around me. The truth hurt and I knew exactly what he meant, he was wrong because I only came for the money not to stay with them but I couldn't bring myself to tell Kyan that hence he continued his words "you are just his surrogate...the girl carrying his child and at the end of the day... you'll give birth and be thrown out of here like a peasant you are!" he finished as he grabbed my hand so fast that I couldn't dodge or move away and he pushed me back and slammed me to the wall so hard that I winced in pain feeling the back of my head hurting at the sudden impact
"Let me go!"I muttered through gritted teeth and tried to free myself but Kyan was powerful, I guessed being a good swimmer gave him the advantage of training and formed a good physique
"I know you are a little liar...you think you are so great huh...but wait and see how I expose you in front of my brother...then we'll see how he treats you like a loser you are!"Kyan leaned closer to my face and whispered bitterly, I could see how red his eyes were, his brows curled and his jaw looked clenched. His breath had quickened but I managed to push him away so hard that he stumbled backwards but didn't get angry instead he started laughing like a crazy person.
