Chapter 28: Chapter 28

"How is she?" It was Victor who asked the two doctors he specifically invited to his house and were at his disposal no matter what time it may be. This was important to him and when he was called that his surrogate was having a fit. He dropped whatever he was doing and rushed to her

"Sir...she's calm now...I gave her an injection to stop the pain"one of the doctors answered as he continued checking Vivienne. The entire house was shaken by the incident. No one knew what had happened to Vivienne and victor was the agitated one.

"You told me there was nothing to worry about...what the heck is this... it's been two weeks and she was fitting!"Victor made a low yell as he said the words bitterly. He warned all the highly trained and capable doctors he could find around the country. He even went as far as getting one of the oldest and most utmost  well-known doctors his father was friends with just to make sure nothing went wrong

Two weeks go they did an IVF, it was a long process that had to be done thoroughly, they needed to monitor Vivienne's body and how she was responding hence he grew afraid as he watched the doctor attend to his surrogate

"Sir...this didn't happen due to the IVF we did on her... as we told you earlier...the lady is in perfect shape to carry a child..so far we found no food allergies or medicine allergies"maverick, Victor's first and trusted doctor said as he walked to him. He knew what to do and of the tests, he did on the lady, everything was fine and nothing was too good wrong  "I think the problem lies with the food she ate...can you show me what she ate" he added and Victor's eyes narrowed as he shifted his gaze from maverick then to his surrogate. He specifically asked the servants to make sure the food his surrogate ate was healthy and had to be nicely prepared so what did the doctor mean by the food was the problem

"What do you mean?" before he could jump to conclusions, victor asked with narrowed eyes.

"Victor, who prepared what she ate...I'm not sure if my assumption is correct but I need to do a thorough test on her...she seems weaker than the last time I saw her"maverick spoke as he handed victor what looked like reports and Victor took the file and hesitated before he opened it. He didn't know what to say or what to think. He trusted everyone around hence who would dare jeopardize his hard work

"Is she allergic to anything...as far as I'm concerned...I oversee her diet...what she drinks and what she eats"after a while of going through the reports victor muttered and handed the file back to maverick and the doctor sighed as he glanced to the lady who was being taken care of by his colleague then turned his attention back to the victor. He seemed worried about the situation

"I'm not sure...bring her first thing tomorrow morning...we need to be extra careful at this point," he said and Victor nodded and the room fell in silence once more. Victor stood to the sidelines as he watched the doctors do their thing and once they were done. Julia came in and escorted them out leaving victor standing there with his sharp eyes glued to his surrogate, she was still unconscious and after a while, the door to the bedroom opened, and soon Monica walked in and stood beside victor. She glanced at victor for a while then turned to look at the troublesome female he took for a surrogate

"Victor you shouldn't have rushed things...I mean she needed a year of observation...this girl is too careless for my liking"Monica spat out bitterly looking at Vivienne with disdain in her eyes. She too wanted her nephew to be born but they had to be careful with the woman they used. This was why she asked victor not to be in a rush in choosing a surrogate but now they had problems

"Is it too late to terminate this? I don't think she can carry my sister's child '' Monica added when she got no reply from victor, of course, she expected such behavior from victor. He wanted nothing but to have his child but he had to be careful in selecting a surrogate. At least he could have gone for someone older, not a 22 years old naive girl

"Clear the kitchen staff...I want trusted people to be hired...and make sure this house is kept in good condition...I don't want anyone over-stressing my surrogate"Unexpectedly victor spoke and Monica was surprised by his words. Her eyes widened as she looked at him then at Vivienne. Instead of firing her. Victor was suspecting the people who worked for him for years

"Victor the staff is…"

"Failure to adhere to my rules then I'll have no choice but to...throw all of you out"Victor cut her off and said coldly just like that Monica shut her mouth hearing Victor give his orders in a deadly way. He was cold and ruthless. Monica remained in the room when victor left, her eyes were on the female sleeping like she owned the place.
