Chapter 27: Chapter 27
(Vivienne)
I always had this assumption about rich people. They were classy, lived in big mansions, and ate good food. Wore expensive clothes and jewelry. They had nothing to worry about because they had all the things more money could buy for them. I always thought rich people were happy and never went through emotional things or problems because they had money hence lived a happy life
This was the main reason why I wanted to be successful, if I had money no one would look down on me. No one would reject me and call me a gold digger just because I was lacking something. To me having money was a source of happiness and no could make me think otherwise
"Please make sure you eat a lot...sir ordered us to make some fruit salad for you as well, "J Julia said as soon as she came back to the dining room and two other female servers who barely said a word started fishing out the food. I sat there, I counted the chairs at the dining table and they were close to eight or ten. The gold-made table was long and the chairs looked expensive, everything was so beautiful that I couldn't believe people owned such nice things. From the ceiling to the glorious chandeliers which beautifully illuminated the place. I didn't know what to do as I sat quietly and the food was served to me. A plateful of many cuisines, delicious food that I only saw in movies. I wondered if the rest would join soon
"Um...Julia, where is everyone?"I asked Julia who was about to leave as well since the other two had left and she stopped and turned back to face me
"Well, sir isn't hungry...Ms. Monica wanted her dinner served in her room...please you can start eating"Julia replied nicely and bowed a little before she proceeded out of the dining room. I was taken aback by her reply and blinked a few times wondering why the entire house seemed like a dead ghost house. Weren't they a family, from what I heard, the family was supposed to sit and eat together? Not like I was bothered but I never had a family to sit down with but here they were a family. Or was Victor still sad about his wife
"What a weird family" I muttered and looked at my plate then my eyes shifted to the plate of fruit salad. I never knew you could make a salad with various fruits. Putting that aside, I dug in and started eating, although it felt strange sitting there alone. It was like I was a thief eating in the night but I was eating to be healthy and give birth to Victor's baby although it wasn't confirmed yet. Just emphasized eating healthy and taking enough sleep
It didn't take a lot of time before I ate half of the food on my plate then decided to eat some of the salad served.
"Wow...grapes, pineapples...apples...and papaya?"I muttered as I recognized the various fruits added. There were a lot of them but I only noticed a few which I loved. I had to admit the salad was the best part of my dinner and I could believe I cleared the entire bowl of it, after my most favorite meal. I decided to head back to my room. It was late hence I lazily climbed the stairs counting the many steps which was the only thing I was left with. The entire mansion was so boring and empty
I reached my room and to my surprise, I found a little stranger on my bed.
"You! Did he let you go or maybe you ran away?"I asked with utter excitement as I rushed inside my room and jumped onto my bed alerting the little puppy and like I scared it, it made some sounds and retreated to a corner. My eyes narrowed as I extended my hands to it. I was certain the little one was intelligent, he was scared of me because of the last time I hurt him but that was then, I had no idea that it was there and I wasn't expecting to wake up and find a thing licking my body
"Come...come boy" I muttered gesturing with my hand for it to come to me. It was so cute and fluffy. I kinda loved little puppies hence I slowly but carefully crawled to where it was and I grabbed it by the tail and dragged it back to me. I giggled as I snuggled to my chest and ran my fingers in its soft fur. It was so comfy.
I sat on the bed and continued playing with the only friend I had in the entire mansion. It was just an animal however puppies were intelligent beings.
"Okay say tell me something...is your owner that grumpy man?"I asked with a frown as I held the puppy above, I was the victor who owned it and didn't allow anyone to touch it, then again recalling the photos I saw back in his room. I saw the same dog with his wife. Was it hers, did it belong to Victor's wife, if so then was it why he was too attached to the little one
"Stay here...I guess I ate too much and I feel nauseous," I told the puppy, putting it back on the bed and resting my hand on my belly. Since I came to the room I have been feeling a little strange. I thought it was due to overeating but I knew I was careful not to have anything that would make me uncomfortable
"Maybe it's nothing," I said and tried to step down so I could get help from Julia, but by now my stomach was hurting like hell. It felt like my abdomen area was twisting and turning to the point where I fell back on the bed wincing in pain
"Ahh!" a loud cry escaped my throat as I crouched my belly, even more, I didn't understand what was wrong but I was scared. I tried to push myself up or sit up but I could move. I was losing strength. My body was trembling as sweat dripped down my face. I felt the puppy licking my face but I slapped it away. I couldn't take it anymore as I moved around but lost balance and ended up falling off the bed and on the floor. Even so the pain I was feeling exceeded the pain from the fall
"H...help...help me!"I tried shouting for help. I needed help as I tried to crawl. I couldn't feel myself as the agony increased even more but I heard the opening of the door and someone gasped
"Vivie what's wrong!?"It was Julia who rushed and came to me. Her hands were on me but I couldn't open my eyes, she was saying something andΒ kept asking questions I didn't understand
"H..help...its hurting" I managed to mumble as I fisted her clothes
"D...don't worry I'll call sir"I heard her say and she left me lying there. I wanted to shout for her to come back but she was already out the door. I felt fear, I failed to understand what was happening. I never got stomach aches that I knew hence the fear of it being something else engulfed me to the point where I couldn't keep from groaning in pain. I was hurting inside and losing connection with consciousness, I could only hear distant voices and felt a pair of hands lift me off the floor taking me to a place I didn't know.
