Chapter 162: Chapter 162

"How long huh?"Monica asked after a while of sitting there. The rest just looked at her with blank expressions knowing it had only been five minutes since the entire process started. The family was gathered outside despite the many times they told them to go to the private waiting room but they refused and wanted to be there to hear the baby's first cry

"This should be done...what's going on...is Vic leading this"Kyan added, he was more than agitated as he paced back and forth just trying to get it out of his system. Martha and Justin had an emergency hence they left from there while Leo was standing by the door drinking coffee

"Kyan do I look okay...I mean the baby needs to see her aunt is the most beautiful"Monica said checking her face but she looked horrible with all the dark circles around her eyes. She had been crying for a long time and barely got any sleep all because of Vivienne. Who knew what happened to her to be here but she prayed Vivienne made it as well as the baby. It was too early for her however things happened when they were intended to happen

"Aunt, I'm sure the baby won't know the type of makeup you used or perfume," Kyan said, rolling his eyes at dramatic Monica already making plans for her niece...Leo was just worried about Vivienne. She wasn't ready for this but he knew she was a strong girl and would do this without fail

"Leo, what do you think?"Kyan asked Leo who had been quiet the entire time.

"Vic is there...no need to worry, "he said with a half-smile because he knew Victor was a formidable doctor despite the way he hid what his actual calling was. Victor always did his work effortlessly and helping his Surrogate give birth was something he was willing to do no matter what

A few minutes passed and the three waited patiently. Fantasizing and imagining their little addition to the family. For some,  it was a memory they had been waiting for and to them it was like they had to hide. It didn't take long when Monica exclaimed not just her but Kyan was alerted and he rushed to the door of the room while Leo detached himself from the wall he was leaning to and looked towards the door.

"Is it?"Monica asked as she smiled not sure how to hide the happiness she was feeling

"Y...yes I heard it too!"Kyan exclaimed and Leo felt his heart race. He heard the little voice of a baby crying and Monica confirmed it when the baby cried this time continuously that the three

"Oh god oh god...it's here I'm an aunt!"Monica was overwhelmed with happiness as she nearly jumped in excitement. She couldn't stop laughing so did Kyan who pulled her in a hug while Leo smirked. Of course, he trusted Victor and Vivienne with this,s and now he wanted to know if Vivienne was okay

"I have a niece, "Kyan remarked and moved away from Monica. This was good news. He had always wanted a little sister but life didn't give him one but now he had a nice he couldn't be any happier than he already was

"This is interesting," Leo muttered, interested in knowing how Victor was feeling. This was a big day for him. The man was finally a father, he had for he always wanted and that was Alisa's memory but something hit his mind. A realization that made him fall into deep thoughts. What would happen to Vivienne now? He knew she had something strong for Victor and it wasn't surprising that Victor too had a thing for her for now was the right time to know if Victor truly liked Vivienne or if he just cared about his baby Vivienne was carrying.

"Congrats Vic...she's a beautiful little doll, "Maverick said with a smirk as he watched Victor hold his baby wrapped in sheets. She was beautiful and looked like some doll, with smooth pink skin, and cute red lips. The moment was special for Victor. After a while of struggling to make sure both his Surrogate and the baby were alright, he did what he had to do although Vivienne had passed out immediately after she gave birth. The female doctor was taking care of her and doing all the after birth things needed for her to be healthy again

Everything was different, the air was something else knowing he had another addition to his family. A cute little princess just for him. He was more than emotional because it had been nine months since he waited to hold his little girl in his arms, he couldn't help but shower her with kisses even when the nurse asked him to give the baby so they could make her wear something warm

"She'll be fine…. Vivienne will be shifted to another room because she'll be out for a while, "Maverick said when the two nurses and the doctor took the baby from Victor who looked as if something had just stolen something from him.

"That's nice," he said, glancing at his Surrogate sleeping peacefully, she did a great job. She was exceptional despite everything. She fulfilled her task flawlessly and now he was just waiting for her to regain consciousness.

While Monica and Kyan followed the nurses to see the new baby, Maverick made sure Vivienne was treated with utmost care. Asked the nurse to change her into something warm. Some normal clothes would be nice and a freshly cleaned room

"You should see her...I know you want to, "Maverick said when he left Vivienne's new room and found Victor standing outside. He looked hesitant as if he was debating on whether to get in or not but when Maverick said that, Victor shook his head

"It's best if I don't stay here...take care of her," he said, patting Maverick on the shoulder and walking away heading to where newly born babies were kept. He was overjoyed and nervous at the same time. He had a little one now and everything was different. He had a princess finally. He waited for so long and now his world was complete. He loved his little princess with all his heart and stood outside the glass wall watching his child from a distance as the nurse did all she had to do

"She's beautiful, Vic...very beautiful, "Monica said as she joined Victor and handed him hot coffee, he took it and nodded without reacting much

"She's just like Alisa...so cute and her beautiful brown hair so perfect...I'm sure it will grow with time" she said with chuckles because she could barely see any hair although it was there. She was just happy she finally got a chance to witness such a beautiful scenery

"Alisa will be proud of you...you finally fulfilled her wishes... your daughter is born"Monica added feeling emotional, she was scared of the outcome but it seemed fate was on her side. Her sister's blood was born and she couldn't help but shed a few tears. On the other hand, Victor was blank, he didn't want to think about anything but one thing was certain. His wife would finally rest in peace knowing he fulfilled their dreams.

"She's beautiful...I'm glad she's okay" Leo said as he caressed Vivienne's face, tucking a few strands of hair behind her ears and smiling. Maverick stood to the sides watching at a distance. He was extremely nervous when the process of delivery was going on. He didn't know if the baby would be born with red hair like Vivienne but to his great shock. The baby chose to inherit Victor's brown hair but one thing was certain. And that he feared the little one might end up looking like Vivienne or better yet have blue ocean eyes like Vivienne and well that would be a disaster

"She's still exhausted and needs proper care...I think she might end up spending a week here...I need to make sure she's fine"Maverick said informing Leo who came to see her Leo looked over his shoulder with narrowed eyes

"Is everything okay... please don't tell me there's some complication" Leo said feeling scared for Vivienne. She wasn't fit to be a surrogate but Vivienne was too stubborn to understand that. It was dangerous for a 19 years old to be a surrogate unless she had given birth before. It wasn't the same as getting pregnant the normal way but Vivienne was Vivienne

"Can't say but for a while, she needs to be here...I'll tell Vic to let her stay for further care??" Maverick said knowing he needed to be extra careful with Vivienne, she gave birth successfully but she needed to be healthy. She was too exhausted and worn out and other things

"So I can't stay huh?"

"Yup no one can...I'll have a nurse watch over her in case she wakes up...don't you want to see the baby?"Maverick said, turning to Leo who lowered to kiss Vivienne on the forehead and Leo nodded. He was too worried about Vivienne but he saw the baby when the nurse brought her out but he was likely to see her since by now they must have put her in a clean fresh room as per the Victor's orders

"I'll see her...please let me know once she wakes up," Leo said with a half-smile and Maverick nodded and smiled back. Leo left the room and smiled, but he was worried about Vivienne. What would she do when she woke up and what was Victor thinking about this. It was too much to bear and since it was already morning he was looking forward to knowing what would happen next between the two.
