Chapter 151: Chapter 151

**8 Months now**

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes ma'am... everyone is ready"

"Good...arrange the tables in the garden and tell...that Cassy girl to make sure nothing is out of place"Monica gave instructions to a couple of female servants lined up before her. She scanned them carefully knowing they had to do a great job with everything. Julia was now the head of the servants hence it was up to her to make sure all the decorations were in perfect order

"Ms...she's arranging everything outside," Julia said with a low bow knowing there was so much to do around the mansion. All whole morning they have been busy running around making sure nothing was out of place

"Alright, and where is Kyan...I asked him to get the cake... Kyan!"Monica was agitated as he glanced at her phone and it was almost time for the baby shower. For the past months, Victor has been delaying this. Not like it was a sin to throw a baby shower even if the baby would be born via surrogacy but she just wanted to fulfill all that her sister wanted if ever she had a child

"He went out...I'm sure by now he will be back" Julia said and Monica exhaled heavily as she pushed her hair back. She gave it a something simple to do and he had been gone for ages

"Move along and make sure the food is exquisite," she said waving them off and turned to walk away when someone walked in and she stopped instantly and made her way to him

"So...is he coming now or not... Jayy I asked you to convince him somehow" Monica said to Justin as soon as he walked in. He looked tired every time knowing he didn't take a day off from his work. Sometimes he worked overnight and at other times was called to some other hospital

"He won't come, you know Vic doesn't want all this," Justin said as he walked to the living room. Monica's expression morphed into an unhappy one knowing Victor was acting way too much. First, he wasn't interested in buying baby clothes and now he was against throwing a baby shower

"Jayy, it's 8 months. I know he's going through emotions now...but please...Alisa would have loved this...we are doing this for the baby, not him"Monica said feeling irritated with everything. She was only doing this for her sister's sake. Alisa would have wanted a baby shower for their baby even if he was against it

"Moni you can't force him...he's busy with meetings and won't be here... you should stop this"Justin simply said, not sure why Monica was trying to force things. Yes she was excited about the arrival of the baby and the last memory of her late sister but if Victor didn't want such things then no one could force him

"I know but this is for his child...my sister's child and the only memory we have of Alisa...can't he just honors her one wish" Jayy understood Monica's point of view and knew how much she cared about her sister and having the baby was the closest thing to her but Victor followed his own rules. He hated certain things and Justin understood if Victor chose to treat his daughter's birth as something normal and not a big deal

"The reason I didn't leave from here is because of Alisa's last memory and my niece...I loved my sister and promised to take care of her child…'' this was not about her staying in the Ellison mansion to get comfortable. She had everything her father left for her. She was only here to take care of her niece until she was born but Victor, didn't understand a thing

"Baby I know...I guess you won't change your mind...I'll ask Leo to call him"Justin said with a sigh as he took out his phone. Monica faked a smile when Justin scooped close to her and engulfed her in his arms

"I missed you...can you spare some time for me?"Justin muttered and planted a kiss on her neck. Monica went stiff as she tried to loosen up but no. Justin was already tracing kisses up to her cleavage

"H...hey we...stop it" she struggled to keep him off knowing there was no time for romance. But Justin wasn't giving up as he grabbed the sides of her face and initiated a kiss. He was tired and wanted some love but Monica was hesitant to kiss him back and when he trapped her beneath him someone walked in which made Monica to panicked and push off Justin so unexpected that he ended up falling off her

"I'm...I'm so...are you okay," she said as she rushed to him but he raised his hand for her to stop and

"Don't" he said and managed to stand on his feet

"I didn't mean to interrupt...my bad"Leo said after witnessing something he didn't expect to see and Monica was about to collapse as she stood there not sure what to do

"Did...did you call Vic...is he coming?" she asked, sounding a little nervous but she was doing everything she could to act normal knowing Leo was upset. She promised to come clean about everything but now

"No idea...I'll see Vivienne," Leo said without sparing the two a glance and walked out of the living room. Of course, tension was all over but Monica was saved when Justin received a call and he excused himself.

"Ms...it's not that bad...you've been hooked up in your room please go to the garden and get some fresh air, "Julia said as if whatever was happening was nothing. She wasn't in my shoes to see how much I was suffering. I looked down at my dress and the protruding tummy and let out a sigh and stood in front of the mirror sizing up my belly. This was larger than a watermelon.

"Please don't ask Julia...Vic doesn't want the baby shower…"I said, still keeping my eyes on my reflection. I didn't know months flew by so fast, I had to say the past few months had been so hectic that I didn't know when this would be over soon

"You look beautiful...I think being pregnant suits you" she said with a smile and appeared in the mirror beside me. I frowned and held my belly. By now every small piece of clothing had stopped fitting me.

"Come on...I'm sure this isn't bad...very soon the guests will start arriving"Julia said and walked to my bed. I glanced back at her and exhaled heavily. Walking was a problem. Forget that but due to slowed movements, my room was shifted downstairs so now I was using the guest room.

"Okay, I'll come, just give me five minutes to arrange myself...hoping I don't…"

"Nothing will happen, stop worrying about how you look dummy" like he knew that I wanted to see him. The door opens and the person whom I asked to come to see me walked in with happiness, I turned around as my lips quivered upwards

"Leo?" this was a surprise, he rarely came and I was damned if I said I saw him the entire month but what the heck. This man was always disappearing and like a fool, I forgot I was heavily pregnant and rushed to him

"Hey baby…." he said and we both ended up hugging. He smelled wonderful. I didn't remember the last time he came. I didn't know what was going on in his big head but Leo was somehow distant from everyone

"So...did your work finish, h,  I asked when he broke the hug and I moved backward and he ended up running his hand in my hair playfully

"Well I heard someone wanted to see me...tell me...how does it feel like to be...so pregnant" he joked knowing I was suffering. I always got tired, my back aches like hell, and my feet were always swollen

"Terrible...I didn't know it got worse every time"I whined as he led me out of the room. I wanted to ask him why he stopped coming to the Ellison mansion like he normally did. I guessed it was about Monica. She still was with doctor Justin which I didn't understand

"Don't worry very soon you'll get through this...so I came to take you out" he said and held my hand. I guess I could waste some time seeing the city. It had been a while since I went anywhere because Victor was now particular about my movements

"Will Vic allow it...did you call him"I wanted to be sure everything was okay before going anywhere. Victor was caring and concerned about his child. If anyone asked me if I ever tried to get close to him in the past three months then I'd lie because he never got close to me like before. I didn't blame him seeing how unattractive I looked with a big belly

"Don't worry I'm sure he won't mind...you need to get out more often"Leo said when he walked outside the mansion and I had to say the sun was shining brightly blinding my eyes that I could need some sunglasses to protect my eyes

"Wow...so we are going for a ride," I said seeing g the black sports car parked just by the entrance

"Yup... we'll grab some ice cream and all…" he said and guided me to his car. I looked around and I guess Monica was hell-bent on throwing a baby shower without Victor

"Won't Moni...get upset that I left"I didn't want the grumpy lady calling me careless but seeing the dark expression on Leo's face. I knew he didn't care about Monica or maybe she did something to upset him.
