"Did you do something or provoke her?"Castro asked in a dark tone as he shifted his eyes to Victor. Both men stood face to face with angry expressions that felt the tension between the two. He looked at Victor and he was angry enough to forget that Castro was his friend and soon to be a business partner
"This is not your house...better watch it, "Victor said through gritted teeth, doing everything he could to ignore the anger he was feeling. Castro scoffed sarcastically as he stepped backward and sized up Victor
"I came here and she didn't let me in...she never acts this way unless you did something"Castro spat out bitterly as he looked at Victor with rage in his eyes. He was busy the entire day arranging his work since he only had two days before he went back home.
"She's my Surrogate...you better keep your hands in check"Victor warned in a deadly tone and stormed out of there. He was in a bad mood after a long day. He thought he could talk to his Surrogate but she was acting up. He didn't know what wrong he did for her to be so angry that she threw him out of her room. Castro and Leo remained standing there with their eyes fixed on Vivienne's door. Castro clenched his fist angrily and punched the wall with so much rage that Leo was surprised
"I'm sure he didn't do something to her," Castro said and left from there. He was leaving the Ellison mansion because he couldn't stand to stay in the same house as victor knowing the girl he liked had eyes for the other man and the thought of it made him feel irritated.
"I hope she's okay" Leo mumbled, knowing he was at fault here. He let his lust get the best of him and ended up with Monica unfortunately Vivie had to see that and Monica was kind enough to upset her
"Leave me alone!"Monica shouted from inside the room immediately Leo knocked. He was damned if she would forgive him after what he did to her. But he got too angry when Monica insulted Vivienne. Yes, his actions were lethal and unforgivable but the thought of Vivienne being reminded of something delicate to her made him angry. Even if he loved Monica she crossed the line when she called Vivienne useless
"Let me in" he muttered softly but there was no answer. Leo sighed as he stepped away from the door and prepared to knock it down when one trial seemed to have worked because the door burst open and he ended up stumbling inside
"Get out!" she yelled when Leo walked in and closed the door and locked it.
"We need to talk," he said and walked to where she was. Leo grabbed her arm and pulled her off the floor but she struggled and fought to keep him off her
"Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on me!" she growled as her piercing gaze met his. Leo was stunned to see tears smeared on her face. Her face was entirely red and her eyes were swollen from crying. He didn't let go of her or give her any chance to pry him off even when she clawed at him and smacked him violently
"Stop misbehaving," he said and Monica managed to shrug him off and stumbled backward
"What? Tired of your little girlfriend or did you come to slap me more!" she shouted as more tears fell on her face
"This is enough...stop overreacting for goodness's sake"Leo muttered angrily and grabbed her arm pulling her closer to him. She didn't want to keep still but kept fighting him and he slipped his arm around her back and held her firmly
"You had the guts to lay your hands on me all because of that girl," Monica said, doing everything to get out of the man's grip. He dared to slap her and choked her. She was just saying the truth but Leo slapped her and choked her all because of a girl who had managed to trap Victor
"You can't stop anyone from being happy...stop it now because we both know...not only Vivie but even Victor has something for her, "Leo remarked, reminding her that no one had the power to control their emotions or feelings. Just like her, Vivienne had fallen for Victor, and her love was reciprocated because Victor too seemed to have something for her.
"You are defending that girl... everyone here is Bewitched by her that no one can see her true colors and her bad intentions" Monica lashed out and pushed Leo away from her. She was done with everyone treating Vivienne like she was some prized possession. Any man who came near her fell for her pretty innocent face that they failed to see her wrongs
"She doesn't have any bad intentions...please stop this...she's innocent and maybe if you stopped being so rude to her you can finally see how much she cares about everyone"it was hard to make Monica understand a simple thing. She was too stubborn and thought Victor moving on was forgetting Alisa and the love he had for her but to be honest. Victor deserved to be happy
"My sister loved him but now...he betrayed her...In a matter of a year, he fell for another girl...he didn't love Alisa"Monica yelled as tears lingered in her eyes at the thought of her sister. She sacrificed everything to make Victor and his family happy.
"If she loved him then...don't you think she should have told him she had cancer?"Leo asked this time, he was defending his friend. Yes, Victor would be called stupid and a fool for not knowing his wife had cancer but Alisa did so many things to keep Victor away. Victor never complained even when she didn't have any intimacy with him for a year. She was his wife and he loved her but she shut him off like he were a stranger
"Don't question her love...I know she did wrong to hide this even from me but…"Monica lashed out defensively but she had nothing to say to defend her stupid sister for what she did. She was sick and Victor was a doctor even though he vowed not to work he still could have helped her
"She slept in a different room for a year...she shut Victor off and when he tried to talk to her...she made up stories which made Victor feel guilty to pry more in her affairs, "Leo said looking straight at Monica who seemed surprised with what she heard. Yes, she knew her sister was happily married. But she had no idea this happened
"You shouldn't judge Vivienne for falling in love with Vic...he's broken and crying over a woman who didn't value him as her husband despite the love she claimed to have for him"this time Leo was ruthless with his words. It was high time someone opened Monica's eyes and made her see that her sister wasn't as angelic as she thought. She hid too many secrets from Victor and Victor was a man who feared upsetting a woman
"That's not true my sister…"
"Victor is guilty because he didn't try hard enough to find out about his wife...and news flash...Vic is in love with Vivienne even if he doesn't know this"Leo added, cutting Monica off and by now she had nothing to say. Yes, Alisa was not perfect but she cared about Victor a great deal. She saw how Alisa was always happy whenever she mentioned Victor. Those girly sister chats they had talking about their men showed she was head over heels Victor but now Leo was just trying to push the subject away and bring a reason for Vivienne falling in love with an older man
"He only met her four months ago...he doesn't love her..it's just an attraction which will fade eventually"love didn't work that way. Yes now Victor might have something for Vivienne but what guarantee did Leo have that Victor would still feel the same way even when Vivienne gave birth
"Because Victor had seen Vivienne before she even came into his life...I was surprised too but now I'm sure he loves her"Leo remarked this time he smile saying the words and Monica grew alert as she looked up at Leo in disbelief she was not happy
"W...what do you mean...don't tell me he cheated on my sister while she was alive" she couldn't believe her ears and she was not happy because if Victor had fallen for Vivienne before then it meant he had eyes for her even when Alisa was alive
"That's not it...it happened so fast I'm sure Victor didn't expect this"Leo said defensively but he already made a big mistake because Monica was heaving in rage. Her eyes were deadly that she cod kill with just one look
"So it means...he didn't love my sister after all?"This was a question she had to ask Victor himself. He had some explaining to do
"Don't blame Vivie because she doesn't know about this…"Leo said, shaking her head but Monica was already on her way to the door. It was late at night but she had to ask Victor if ever he loved Alisa or he was just pretending
"Victor is upset...if you go now...then there will be consequences" Leo stopped her before she added any fuel to the fire because Victor was upset
"I should have known...all you men are the same "Monica said looking at Leo with disbelief in her eyes. She didn't think this was why Victor didn't get angry even when Vivienne made mistakes
"Her parents are to blame because they let a girl run around the city freely...I'm not even sure if it wasn't…" she didn't even get to finish when she stopped seeing the angry look on Leo's face. He seemed angry and exactly the way he was earlier when he slapped her and she wondered why
You shouldn't go around judging other people...you know nothing about her,"Leo said angrily and stormed out of her room and slammed the door shut. Monica was in disbelief as she stood there not sure why Leo was so angry all of a sudden. Was he also in love with that girl like every other man out there?
