When I woke up, I couldn't move my body. Everywhere was hurting that it was so unbearable that I couldn't help but let out sounds
"Careful...don't move too much"I heard Victor say and when I looked up, he was standing close to my bed supporting my back with his hands. I didn't know what happened but when I looked around. I saw that we were in a hospital room
The sight of machines and the smell of medicine scared me and I became restless.
"It's...it's hurting...why is it hurting"I muttered trying, by all means, to keep calm but my abdomen was hurting so much that I closed my eyes, biting my lower lip to keep the pain at bay.
"Shh...it's going to be fine, the painkillers have worn off" Victor whispered as he moved closer to me and sat on the bed, and pulled me in his arms. Victor sat beside me and wrapped his arms around my body. I ended up resting my head on his chest and exhaled heavily. I wasn't in control of myself
"You'll be fine sweetie...I can't give you an injection for now...please try to endure this" he murmured and gathered my nearly lifeless body in his arms. Everything was hurting his touch and seemed to be making things worse. I recalled seeing blood in the morning. I tried to hide it but I fainted on my way to the living room. What happened after that I didn't know and now I woke up only to find myself in the hospital
"V...Victor...did...how's the baby...I was bleeding...the baby"I got anxious and said trying to get away from him. My heart was racing fast at the thought of something bad happening to the baby. I looked at Victor and he was doing something else"The Baby is fine but you are not...you need to rest Ms. Payton...it seems something is wrong...I sent some blood samples to the lab…the results will be out soon" Victor said as he slipped his hand into my hospital gown since it was open from the back and rested it on my belly. His sudden touch was so gentle that I felt a warm shiver throughout my body. It was like immediately he touched me, the pain disappeared. I didn't want him to remove his hand and when I heard the baby was fine. I leaned back on his chest and closed my eyes and tried to relax
"From now on I'll take over as your doctor" he added softly as he drew circles on my belly. It felt so good that I found myself drifting to sleep however I could hear him. I wanted to know what was wrong with me, everything was okay but what happened so unexpectedly had me feeling scared. If victor found out I was 19 years old. Then he was furious. Maybe everything was happening because I was too young to be a surrogate. The thought of it made me feel scared and if the tests came out bad then he would ask questions. I didn't want him to be my doctor. I was free with Doctor Maverick and doctor Justin but if Victor said he'd be my doctor. The chances of him watching me 24/7 were there
I stayed in his arms without moving. It seemed he was good at calming people down. He didn't have to try hard to calm me but with just words and gentle actions, I felt relaxed. The pain subsided I glanced up to look at him
"S...sir I'm fine now...you can go"I mumbled hoarsely and prepared to move away from him slowly. I was bothering him with my situation and childishness. When I glanced out the window. It was dark. Questions of what the time was and how long I've been unconscious and when did he come to know of what happened
"Ms. Payton...it's not good to chase your doctor away...I thought you were enjoying my company"Victor muttered in a husky voice. His voice sounded deep and masculine as if he was teasing me. I was tongue-tied and lacked words to say to him
"So I…" surprisingly the door to the room opened wide and both Victor and I shifted our attention there the person who walked in stopped and I saw how Leo's eyes widened when he saw the position we were in
"I…"I stammered and tried to move away from Victor unfortunately the man held me in place. I looked at him and e had a dark expression on his face as he stared daggers at Leo who regained his wits and smiled as he closed the door and walked in holding shopping bags
"So...you two huh...what's happening...I'm so lost" he said as he walked to the table and put the bag there. It was embarrassing to be in Victor's arms but since that time we have been in the pool. He had changed, he was more possessive and clingy that I failed to understand what was happening to him
"Leave... visiting hours are over...don't make me call security"Victor lashed out angrily and moved away from me. I was stunned by how angry he sounded as he carefully rested my head on the soft pillows and made sure I was comfortable
"Chill bro...I was shooting the entire day...I just heard my favorite princess was admitted to the hospital"Leo remarked happily as he took out some boxes from the bags. I saw fruits and certain things. I wasn't in the mood to eat anything
"I'm glad you came Leo...I missed you so much" I said with a smile when he walked to my bed and lowered to hug me since I was lying down
"Missed you too baby...I kept thinking about you the entire time...and I brought you many gifts" he said as he planted a kiss on my forehead. He was a good person and I liked him very much. I smiled when he showed me a pink teddy bear
"This is cute just like you," he said and handed me the cute little teddy bear. I chuckled when I raised it in the air and scanned it carefully. Leo thought I was a child to play with dolls but the teddy made me smile
"It's cute...thank you, Leo," I said and hugged the teddy. He wasn't done yet but he took out so many things I couldn't count. I glanced at Victor and he didn't look happy at all
"Bro...she's beautiful isn't she.. just look at her even in her state she's glowing, "Leo remarked as he moved out of the way as if showing Victor my face. I felt shy when Victor glanced back at me with a blank expression. The fact that Leo said I was beautiful and Victor looked at me
"Gorgeous...I even got a crown...very soon you'll get out of here... Maverick said you need to be under observation for a week or two"Leo added and fit a good tiara on my head. It was ridiculous but I couldn't stop him but laughed softly. My eyes were on Victor and although he had his attention on the medicine bottles he was checking I saw how he glanced at me occasionally
"Vic I…"Leo said, turning to Victor but stopping when Victor's phone started ringing. He retrieved it from his trouser pockets and glanced at it before he answered
"Talk to me," Victor said and without sparing us a glance, he walked to the door and left. My eyes were still glued to the door wondering who called him so late at night. I saw he was already in the same clothes as earlier although he took off his coat and only remained in blue trousers and white shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows
"Vivie...you should tell him your real age...I had a word with Maverick and he said your uterus is too weak to carry a child."Leo said more seriously immediately the door closed and I saw how serious his voice sounded " I'm afraid if you are not careful...you may suffer a miscarriage... Maverick didn't tell this to Vic because he's afraid to reveal your real age" he added and my eyes widen at the mention of a miscarriage. My heart skipped a beat as it ached more than anything. I tried to sit up but the pain started again
"No...no please don't say that...the baby will be fine... nothing will happen to it"I muttered and felt a sharp pain in my heart. I didn't want anything bad to happen to the baby. I wanted it to be fine
"Vivie this is serious...you are too young for this.. this was risky from the beginning.. what...what if something happens to you"Leo was concerned about me as he sat beside me but I didn't want to hear it. The thought of losing the child pained me greatly
"But... Victor...he... he'll hate me if I lost his child...this is his only source of his happiness.. please Leo...I can't tell him my real age" I pleaded with him. I had to beg him to keep my age a secret at least until I gave birth. I promised to take care of myself and the baby
"You are having complications sweetie...you are not even in the middle and this is happening...you need to tell Victor the entire truth"
"Tell me what truth?"Immediately Leo said that the door opened, startling me and it was Victor who walked in but stopped and my hands turned cold as sweat broke on my forehead as my eyes met with Victor's cold sharp, and distant eyes. Leo was frozen in place as well.
