"Is it okay?"I asked and looked at my belly as doctor Maverick was running the probe on my belly.

It had been a few weeks and I came for checkups. Victor was busy so I brought myself to the hospital

"It's fine. I'm happy you came right away…" doctor Maverick said as he handed me a towel to wipe the jelly from my belly and I took it and did as required. He said I was okay

"I'm glad then...tell me how to stop throwing up...it's become a problem now, "I said while wiping the jelly. For the past three weeks, I've been feeling bad, morning sickness as Maverick described it. Whenever I ate anything spicy or containing spices, I threw up. Any food with garlic made me feel nauseous and the smell of several perfumes did the same. I asked Justin and he said everything was normal, I just had to take care of myself. I couldn't even tell the grumpy man knowing he had a reason to touch me. For weeks I've been ignoring him like the plagues and he had turned extra grumpy

"So...I'll prescribe some medicine for you...take every morning and before going to bed...this way it will reduce vomiting, "doctor Maverick said and I nodded while putting the towel on the table beside the bed. I took the small prescription he handed me and scanned it carefully

"Will it give me side effects?"I asked and shoved it in my purse. I'd get the meds on my way out since I just and to hand the pharmacist the prescription

"Not really but the chances of you feeling sleepy are there," he said and glanced at his watch while leaning toward the table. I looked at him and I had to say he was good-looking. For a doctor, he was calm and patient. He never rushed things and I loved the way he worked. He was gentle and kind-hearted, I wondered if he got upset

"Thanks, doctor," I said and tried to stand but I felt dizzy when I tried to and nearly fell off the bed but Doctor Maverick was fast enough to catch me before I could fall

"A...are you okay?" he asked and kept his hand on my back and made me sit back down. I nodded while holding my head

"I'm…"I muttered, feeling bad all of a sudden.

"Here take this" he handed me a glass of water but I couldn't hold it due to my shaky hands hence he tilted my head to make me drink the water. I took a sip while he held the back of my neck and before I could finish gulping down the water which soothed my dry throat. The door to the room opened and I stopped drinking and shifted my eyes to who walked in. Doctor Maverick did the same too and it was Victor who walked in but stopped suddenly

"Thank god you are here... Ms. Payton please drink up, you'll feel better," the doctor said to Victor then shifted his attention back to me. I took the glass from him and shifted a little and continued to drink my water while he moved back and got to his feet

"What happened here?"I heard Victor ask. His voice didn't sound so friendly and I peeked to see him. How did he get here and why was he here? I thought he and a busy day just as Beverly told me

"She's having some morning sickness and she's feeling irritated with certain foods and smells"the doctor explained and I watched as Victor looked at me with a dark expression then averted his eyes from me

"She didn't tell me"Victor spoke and I cleared my throat knowing I didn't want to tell him anything. I could take care of myself, I didn't have to run to him for every little thing

"I see...but I gave her some meds to make her feel better...you can check them, "the doctor told Victor and I just sat there listening to their conversation which was all about me and my health. I didn't have to say anything

"Let's go" after some time Victor turned to me and said but I didn't know why he was taking me with him

"But I…"

"Come with me" he cut me off and remarked through gritted teeth and seeing his expression, he didn't look happy at all

"Thanks, doctor...have a lovely day,y," I said to the doctor with a bow and followed Victor who was already out of the room. I hurried down the corridor not sure why he showed up and dragged me with him

"Sir...sir stop" I shouted after Victor who was already walking like he was some superman. It was her to keep up with him when he was moving so fast and when he was out the door to the building. I cursed and ran after him. I had no idea why he was upset when I just came to get a check for the sake of the baby

"So my brother left you at the hospital?"Kyan asked as we ate ice cream in the living room. I just finished telling him a long story of how Victor humiliated me at the hospital parking lot and left me soaking in the sun and Kyan was laughing like a mad man

"Yes...now give me this, "I said angrily and snatched the bowl of his ice cream from him for myself. I bought the ice cream for everyone since they didn't have any in the kitchen

"Come on...it's funny...he told your driver to go away then he asked you to drive with him and left you"Kyan went through the same thing I told him and I smacked him on the head to stop being such a hooligan

"What are you so dressed up and what's up...with the presents"I asked, pointing at him looking all handsome in some sparkly suit and at the wrapped up presents on the table. He glanced towards the table then back to me

"Well, we are going to a birthday party...I'm waiting for Monica to come," Kyan said, glancing at his wristwatch and I was surprised. There was a birthday party but how come I didn't know the rest of the family were going out. It was in the evening, the helpers had gone on a weekend break like they always did including the ones who attended to me

"Is Victor coming too?"I asked still eating my ice cream, I wasn't bothered about staying alone because it was more fun than attending some fancy function

"I don't know...he's still at the office...he won't come"saying that Kyan rose to his feet and scanned himself. I guess Monica was going to rub it in. For weeks I've been ignoring her too and since Leo was busy working. I didn't get to talk to anyone hence the thought of remaining alone had me feeling fine

"So...we are going out but it doesn't mean you should trash the house"Monica said coming out of nowhere. My attention shifted to the entrance of the living room and I was stunned. She was looking fine in her sparkly blue shimmery mermaid dress with her hair falling in waves. She and full makeup on and an evil grumpy expression

"I won't," I remarked with a sarcastic expression and she rolled her eyes and walked to get her phone while Bobby, my driver, walked in to carry the boxes.

"Bye kiddo...see you later" Kyan waved at me and I nodded at him and dropped on the couch as they left me alone.

The house felt so empty that I didn't know what to do. Julia was nowhere to be seen because she went to visit her family for the weekend. At least I talked to her

"I should go to the drawing-room," I said, knowing the drawing-room would keep me busy. With Kyan and Monica away and Victor still working. I was going to keep myself busy with learning to paint hence with a huge smile on my face I rushed to the stairs while removing the band holding up my hair and just as I was about to climb the stairs I came to a sudden halt when my eyes landed on the man walking down the stairs. I gasped not sure if he was a ghost but no. Victor in the flesh descended the stairs while checking his shirt. His hair was loose with some strands falling to his face.

"He's here but how come?" I muttered not recalling when Victor came in. Kyan said he was out working so when did he get back without anyone noticing or was he a ghost

"You have ten minutes to change and meet me outside the pool," Victor said as soon as he got down startling me completely

"Huh?"I asked not sure why I have to meet him by the pool so late at night

"Don't you want to learn how to swim?" he turned to ask me with raised brows. I didn't get his point

"Huh?"I was still muddleheaded to understand his words "but it's dark... swimming at night is...well...I feel cold see I'm shivering" I tried lying to him and hugged my body as if I was cold. I didn't want to go swimming, especially with him. Why would he volunteer to teach me how to swim when he scared away my two teachers

"Isn't ice cream cold...Ms. Payton, I'm sure you know I'm not going to wait for you...get to the pool in five minutes" he said as he walked closer to me, his hands rested on his waits as he looked at me like some scary monster

"Okay sir" I agreed and Victor left from there and I watched him head towards the door.

"Swimming...but why?"I whined scratching my head as to why he wanted to teach me how to swim and that too when there was no one around...why was he even at home. I was happy being alone and free but now the iceberg king was bugging me

"Come on Vivienne...just go," I said to myself and prepared to follow him out.
