Chapter 75: Chapter 75

(Vivienne)

"So is the little miss here for some work or is she stalking me?"Mauricio said with a smug plastered on his face. The man was trying hard to be in my good books but the fact that he was Victor's rival put him at a disadvantage

"No...if you excuse me I have a friend to see" I said faking a smile and was about to walk past him when he grabbed my arm and pulled me back "excuse me" I shot him a warning glare and he chuckled nervously and removed his hand from mine

"My apologies but I just wanted to invite you out for lunch...you intrigue me every time I see you, "Mauricio said, still smiling at me. I disliked his friendliness.

"No...look here, Mauricio...I'm not interested...I have a man already so it won't work"I told him straight without giving anything away. I didn't have to entertain him for so long because he was starting to take advantage and think I obliged his advances

"So Victor is the one you want... Vivie, why do you want to involve yourself with such a man?" he said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking at me with a questionable expression.

"Mr. Moreno...it's my life...I don't think anyone has any right to make decisions for me" was he kidding me. Since when did anyone have the right to tell me what to do, since I was young I made my own decisions

"Even so...don't you think being g with him is a lot for you...you need"

"I don't need a total stranger to meddle in my private affairs with all the respect I can give you...stop telling me what to do"I lashed out, cutting him off before he said anything that would upset me. I noticed how he tries to paint Victor badly. It was too much and serious pissing me off

"I'm..my apologies. I didn't mean to say anything…" he said apologetically but the damage was already done. He had no right to say anything about someone's life like this "but he has a child...he was married before...do you want to shoulder these burdens…" he added before I could say anything. By now I was stunned by his stubbornness. I scanned his form for a while, not sure why he was hell-bent on making me change my mind. I decided to keep quiet knowing we were in a place of work with people passing by

"It doesn't matter now, does it? Whether he was married or not...I don't mind"I replied nonchalantly knowing he would stop if I told him off. I didn't even waste time and walked past him. Now I was guilty...so this was what people thought of a single father, Victor was a great father capable of giving both a mother's love to a child. He raised Skylar well and I was proud of him.

I was the bad one because I couldn't stay and help raise our daughter. What kind of woman am I to leave her little child after birth. I made a huge mistake I should have stayed and faced my problems not running away

"No" sweat broke on my forehead at the thought of Victor leaving me to care for Skylar. If I put myself in his shoes. What would be his reaction if he found out I left our daughter. Just like people mocked a single mother without the father of the child I was certain people looked down on Victor. Was Cassy going through the same thing.. Vivie exited the elevator before it could go up and decided to see Victor...no matter what she had to tell him now...the feeling was eating her up and the only way to feel less burdened was to tell him everything.

"How dare you disobey my orders...I asked you to stay!"Tomas yelled angrily at Cassy who was standing before her.  Casey knew she left work early but she had a valid reason for doing so. As much as work was important to her. She had someone who was even more precious

"I had to see my son..he was…"

"This is serious...do you take our company for fools…"Tomas cut her off rudely slamming his fist hard on the table such that Cassy was startled at such an outburst

"Maybe if you had a child of your own, you would understand what it feels like...have a heart Tomas," Cassy said, hating every moment Tomas, he was a man with no responsibilities. So shameless and thought everything revolved around him

"Oh really do now you've grown wings...come here you bitch" Tomas said sarcastically and unexpectedly grabbed Cassy by the arm and started dragging him towards the door. Cassy struggled to keep him off, unfortunately, Tomas tightened his grip and reached for the door only to open it forcefully and stopped in his tracks when they found a person he had been waiting for standing outside ready to knock. Cassy froze when she met with a man she was trying to avoid. His gaze which had been softly darkened as he shifted his eyes to the arm Tomas had held

"Mr. Monro...it's so good to see you," Tomas said with a nervous chuckle as he awkwardly let go of Cassy and proceeded to greet Leo

"Don't" Leo said, stopping Tomas from touching him and talking of a handshake. His eyes were on Cassy and he saw how the woman was trying to find a hole to hide in. Her shock showed that she wasn't expecting to see him and Cassy felt the same way

"My apologies Mr. Monro...I didn't know you would come...this is such an honor" Tomas said and Cassy was stunned. A second ago, Tomas was barking like a top dog but now in front of Leo he was like a soaked cat pleading for attention

"Who is she?"Leo asked pointing at Cassy who was startled at how he asked such a question

"Well...she's...she's just a loser sir...some bitch who doesn't do her work correctly," Tomas remarked disdainfully as he gestured for leave. Cassy was happy to leave them knowing the last person she wanted to see was standing before her. She had to see he had changed a lot. He looked even more handsome and well built or was sitting on just the leather jacket he was wearing. With the blue ripped jeans and white muscle shirt inside. His haircut had changed.

"Can I talk to the lady alone?"Leo requested, shifting his eyes back to Tomas. Tomas was not happy as he narrowed his eyes suspiciously

"Sir...your meeting is with me and my mom...the owner of the agency...this is just a damned…"

"Insult her again and you'll lose everything you have including this little place" Leo cut him off angrily and Tomas grew afraid. Fear washed over him. His eyes shifted to Cassy but she had her head turned away

"Y...yes sir" Tomas stammered the words out and looked at Cassy before he left the office. He wasn't happy as he stormed away leaving Leo standing there with his eyes fixed on Cassy

"So...you work here?"Leo asked as he walked around the foreign office. Cassy nodded, not sure what to say to him. She wasn't expecting to see Leo of all people which meant he was the model the agency wanted

"Yeah...it's good to see you," she said, keeping her eyes away from him. There was silence in the room. Neither party said anything to break the ice but Leo looked up at Cassy. She wasn't looking at her. She was different in her demeanor. Her aura.

Her presence was not like before. In the past she never missed a chance to annoy him, she went all out in renting his card which she never paid for. He knew how much she used to drive him insane with her demands. He was helpless and never refused her

"What happened?"Leo asked softly. It was more of a whisper but Casey heard him loud and clear as she looked up at him. Such a place was not the right one to confront or say anything

"I have work...please respect that," she said and prepared to leave when Leo grabbed her arm and pulled her to him. Cassy was startled at his advance. Why was he bothered about her? He had a woman he loved so why was he asking her what happened

"This is a place of work...I don't want my boss getting angry" she murmured when Leo's arms circled her back. His presence made her uncomfortable, his soft gaze made her feel even worse

"I know but I didn't know I'd find you here" he whispered looking straight into her eyes. Cassy nodded and averted her eyes from him. Whatever he was doing

"How's Monica?"Cassy asked and Immediately the words left her mouth. Leo's grip on her loosened. the smile on his face disappeared.

Vivienne arrived at Victor's company...her head was a mess as she rushed inside. She didn't even get a chance to drop her purse at her desk when she proceeded to Victor's office. Luckily Victor just came back from his meeting.

"Is he in?" she asked Jason who was coming from Victor's office. He stopped and greeted her

"Yes miss...sir is in the office," Jason said and Vivie nodded a thank you and proceeded down the passageway. It was a good thing Victor was alone and free. That way they both could talk about this. She didn't want to wait for his birthday

Upon reaching the door to his office she knocked several times. And pushed the door open without getting a reply from the man inside

"Hey, boss I…"Vivie said as soon as she walked in but stopped upon seeing Monica standing by Victor's desk, Victor didn't seem so happy but angry  "Is...is everything okay?"I asked, feeling agitated as I made my way in. I ignored Monica who scoffed in disdain and elegantly stepped aside

"Vic what…"

Victor rose from the chair "Why did you do this!?" he made a low yell accompanied by a hard slam on the desk which startled me as my heart raced rapidly. I shook my head unconscious, unaware of what was going on. Looking at him he was nothing but a raging beast "answer me!" his angry voice echoed throughout the room causing me to jerk back to my senses...why was he angry at me?
