Alexis woke up in the morning only to find herself wrapped in strong muscular arms. It shocked her to see the person was Maverick. As much as she knew there was an attraction between the doctor and her. She panicked and tried to get away..how on Earth did she end up in such a predicament
"Oh no," she mouthed as she fixed her eyes on Maverick. He had refined features, from his thin red lips to his beautiful closed eyes. The contours of his face were rare and exceptional. She had seen handsome men before but Maverick was something else. So peaceful and caring. Recalling what had happened between them the previous day. She felt her cheek burning up from embarrassment.
"Stop staring"Maverick mumbled in a sleepy voice unexpectedly startling Alexis who was caught staring. She quickly averted her eyes from him and prepared to run away from the bed when the man suddenly trapped her. A warm shiver ran down her spine feeling Maverick's hands on her shoulder
"Good morning...did you sleep well?" the man murmured huskily. His voice was low and deep, more as he spoke from his chest. A sense of anxiety jolted in her heart, not sure what to say. Did she have a good night? Of course, she had never slept so peacefully in her life.
"Doctor, you should leave now...please don't…"Alexis panicked and said as she wiggled out of his grip. Unfortunately, the man suddenly flipped her in one go and trapped her beneath him.
His hands slipped under her head while the other rested to her sides, the beating of her heart caused her to swallow the dry lump stuck in her throat like Maverick.
Fixed his soft mysterious gaze on her so piercing and held many secrets. Alexis relaxed as she took up the starting challenge. The man blinked a few times as he slowly reached for her face, his entire weight was on her. Faces an inch from each other that Alexis tried by all means not to let certain images from crowding her mind however Maverick's actions caused her to whimpered
"You look so beautiful in the morning" the man murmured as he caressed her cheek with his thumb. A simple touch from him caused a flame of fire to burn even more. Such a heartwarming compliment.
"No...please leave...this isn't right. I can't allow you to bully me like this"Alexis said, pushing Maverick off her with enough strength to keep him off. Maverick didn't protest but moved away just as Alexis jumped off the bed and fixed her pajamas as she ran her hands in her tangled hair. Who knew how hideous her face looked when she woke up.
"Alright," Maverick said and scanned her form for a while before he said his goodbye and walked towards the door. He didn't understand women one bit. The previous night both spent the night together. She clung to him like a leech. She didn't even let him have a goodnight's sleep all because she kept on waking up in the middle of the night screaming
"That jerk is so full of himself"Alexis muttered, checking herself if she was still in one piece. Heaven only knew what would have happened to her if she didn't stop him the previous night when they started making out, however she had to admit how much she enjoyed his kisses. His soft lips and his smooth hands. The best part was when he sucked on her tender sensitive breasts. It was nothing but a sweet dream
"I should get ready," Alexis said as she started arranging her bed. Forgetting about Maverick was imperative because it was a new day with new things to do

"Sir...these need your signature," Jason said as he handed Victor some documents to sign. Victor didn't say anything knowing his day started white early. He woke up early mainly because Skylar was his little alarm. After Vivie left he decided to spend the night in his daughter's room because she kept on waking up in the middle of the night
"Is Ms. Payton here?" he asked while signing the papers given. Jason was hesitant to say anything because he didn't see the lady anywhere which meant she wasn't around
"N...no sir...madam isn't here yet" Jason answered nervously. Victor paused for a while upon hearing that. He called her first thing in the morning and she told him she was getting ready for work so how was she not in the office yet
"What's on the schedule?" he asked as he continued signing the many files.
"Actually...there isn't anything for today," Jason said, checking his tablet. There was nothing on the schedule for his boss to do for the day. Victor was stunned that he had a day off. How on Earth did he get a free day without any work
"No meetings or more work?" he asked arching his brows at Jason.. normally he would have a bunch of things to do daily but for the past few days his work was lighter than usual
"Sir...madam does all the work...she took about four to five files you were supposed to look at today," Jason remarked with a smile on his face. Victor was caught off guard as he looked at Jason without blinking.
"Meaning?"
"Madam said to give her more of your work.. she told me you can check through and see if it's par to your satisfaction," Jason said the very same words Vivie had said to him when he passed by her apartment as she asked and took the files. Victor was stunned as she started going through each file Vivie worked on. Jason left his boss after he took the signed papers
"I see, "Victor muttered as a smile of satisfaction appeared on his face. He was helpless as he slammed the file shut and took another. He knew his redhead was capable but now he was even more convinced that she was formidable. Even better. She worked from the heart
"Enter," Victor said without looking up when he heard a knock on the door. Soon the door creaked open. He only heard the sound of a lady's shoes approaching only then did he look up and saw someone he was expecting to see
"What are you doing here?"Victor asked idly. His mouth changed drastically upon seeing the woman standing before him. He made it clear that he hated the sight of her. She made him feel nauseous, unfortunately for Beverly, she just smiled and looked around the luxurious office. So spacious and the smell of lavender reminded her of the times she spent here. Working for Ellison Enterprises was something she loved until Vivie happened
"I know you hate the sight of me.. but don't you think you are being unfair treating me like garbage"Beverly said and elegantly walked closer to Victor's desk. A playful smug danced at the corners of her lips
"Aren't you ashamed...as a woman you stoop so low" Victor said disdainfully. No one got on his nerves like the woman before him. She was so shameless
"I don't care what you think and I'm done hiding how I feel...I'm not the one who you should hate Victor"Beverly said as she put her purse on the desk and fixed her cat-like eyes on Victor. She was wearing a short blue dress with a deep V-line, it fit her perfectly well and was hugging her hips making her look hot and sexy. She was beautiful and every man died to see her and to be with her however only one man didn't see her beauty
"Leave my office," Victor muttered through gritted teeth. Beverly smirked evilly seeing how angry Victor was. He had to be angry after what she did unfortunately she was a woman in love seeking his attention
"You are so shameless...I hate women like you" he had never seen a woman like Beverly in his entire life. She was capable of anything
"What...do you prefer that list...she's just deceiving you.. she grew up in the streets...Vic that stupid girl planned this from the start"Beverly said as anger flashed in her eyes. She thought with Alisa gone Victor would finally look at her differently as a woman, not his employee but the man was so cruel to choose a little dirty girl over her
"She's busy laughing at you behind your back...she planned to trap you and so much more just open your eyes!"Beverly added as her voice became even louder and strained. Her breathing was something else but nothing would quench her anger other than seeing Vivie out of Victor's life
"You need help...see a doctor because your on is getting out of hand" at first he ignore Beverly's advances, he thought she was just going through a phase but after she tried to drug him and do something so despicable he knew she was crazy
"Vivienne is busy deceiving you...she lied more than me and once you find out...I'm sure you will hate her"Beverly claimed knowing full well Victor was siding with a woman who liked him countless times. She would have exposed Vivie and made sure Victor hate her however she had different plans
"Get out or I'll call security" Victor warned with a death glare which Beverly ignored. Getting her purse her expression darkened as she scanned the man for a while before she turned to leave and once the door closed did he run his hands in his hair before he tugged at his necktie loosening it a bit. Sooner or later the volcano would erupt and she would have the last laugh. Victor sat there with his eyes fixed on one place.
Meanwhile, Vivie had just arrived at Cassy's workplace. She told Cassy she would see her first thing g in the morning and just as she arrived, she asked a few employees where to find d Cassy however they seemed busy of some sort
"Yes down the hallway...take a left turn, the second door to the left is her office"Vivie was given directions to Casey's office and she proceeded to the elevator when she suddenly bumped into someone
"I'm so sorry I…"Vivie said as she lowered herself to pick up the person's phone which fell and when she straightened up to hand it over
"Oh my...it's my lucky day" she was greeted by Mauricio smiling mischievously at her as he reached for his phone in her hand but ended up holding Vivienne's hand instead.
