Victor was worried about Vivie. He was close to conquering her with Skylar's help but after she came back inside. She was a completely different person. She was ignoring him even when he was standing right before her while she dressed Skylar and did her hair. He watched her closely and he was impressed with her. She was young, full of life but mature. She wasn't Skylar's biological mother but the way she was talking to her and coaxing her to listen to her made him smile.

"Should I use this or this one because it's white and pretty?" she said, showing Skylar the ribbons in her hands startling victor who fixed his eyes on Skylar. His little daughter was nodding and shaking her head a little. They both look cute together

"Are you two going out?" he decided to ask breaking the silence eating him up when Vivienne was done with Skylar

"Yes I'm taking her out for shopping then ice cream later" she answered casually without even looking at him and walked to get Skylar's backpack. Victor scratched the back of his head awkwardly, not sure what to do about this. He decided to stay at home because he wanted to spend the entire day with Vivienne and Skylar but no it looked like he wasn't part of the outing. Skylar was happy that he saw and when Vivie came back she was serious as ever

"Vi is something wrong I mean…"

"Sky sweetie...go and wait for me downstairs I'll be right there" Vivie spoke before he could say anything in front of Skylar and the girl nodded and ran out of the room Victor was even more worried. This was the first time he saw Vivienne so serious

"You're angry...what is it?" the man asked, looking at me with a soft gaze. He knew any better than to ask me such a question when he was giving me all the reasons to be angry

"Did something happen between you and that woman who left?"I simply asked even if I was aware I was not in a position to question him. That woman who left was Beverly. I saw how uncomfortable and angry he got when she walked in. If he fired her over a phone call then why was she visiting him frequently

"She made a mistake which nearly cost your life and my child's life...I detest such unprofessionalism" he simply said but I didn't believe him.

"Vic I'm not a kid please spare me...I'm sure she must have done something for you to get so angry…" it was written all over him that the issue of Beverly wasn't only about her refusing to pick up a call. It was much deeper than we thought and seeing how hesitant he was. I was certain something was wrong somewhere

"Do you trust me?" the man asked as he reached where I was in one stride. I was avoiding anything that had to do with Victor touching me especially when he was hiding something from me

"Tell me what I need to know"all I wanted was to end this once and for all. He asked me if I trusted him. If I didn't trust him then I wouldn't have fallen in love with him

"I don't trust her... especially near you…" he muttered, reaching for my face and cupping my cheeks. His hands were warm and so soft that I just wanted to fall right into his trap unfortunately I had so many questions. Did he have the same doubts I had about Beverly? I wasn't certain about this because it was a crime to accuse someone of murder without solid proof

"Did she try to seduce you…"the question left my mouth without even realizing what I asked him but this was serious, Beverly was Alisa's friend and worked for a handsome, successful man like Victor. She was bound to have some sentimental feelings for him even if she didn't show any

"Ms. Payton, why do I feel like...you are trying to protect your territory?"Victor murmured as he moved even closer to me, slipping his hands on my back and pressing me to him.

"A female as your right hand... isn't that fishy"I mumbled, not sure if he heard me but he did because he used his thumb to tilt my head up so I could look at him. There was that mischievous little smirk tugging at the corners of his lips as he looked at me with a playful expression. His eyes shone with amusement

"You were jealous and you are now?" he whispered the question, smirking at me but I didn't laugh; probably he was trying to tease me. He was just perfect for me. The way I was shorter than him and he had to look down at me. It was easy for me to rest my head on his chest but I kept my hands to myself. I was starving the man for a while

"She must have seduced you right... Having a hot boss was exciting for her...I'm certain she made a move on you"I wasn't even ashamed to tell it to his face. It was written all over him that Beverly must have tried to seduce Victor in the past. And like a man he was, he didn't want that closeness with his employees which was why he fired her. He didn't want to give her ideas and seeing how he was looking at me with interest without arguing with my accusation, I was certain he got seduced somehow

"Ms. Payton, it's getting late...I'm sure Sky is waiting...we should probably be on our way to your little outing" he said mischievously dodging my question, leaning down to me he threatened to steal a kiss but I pushed him away before he could do so and slipped away and left the room. Victor stood there smiling to himself knowing he was going to try hard to win her back and go out with the two girls he cherished in his life, he was likely to surprise her

"Seduced me?"Victor mumbled when he recalled what she just asked him. Other than that he didn't want to hurt her by telling her that the woman was the one who pushed her into the pool years back. She was innocent but trusted the wrong person. He just hoped keeping this from her wouldn't hurt her in the end.

"Are you kidding me...why did you give me a ride when this thing isn't in a good shape"Alexis was irritated as she stepped out of the car to scold the cab driver who was busy a checking his smoking car

"Tell me...is this how you treat your customers or whatever!"Nothing made her angrier than standing under the sun in the middle of a road waiting for a dead car to be fixed. She was rushing somewhere but now that wasn't possible because the man didn't look like he would get his taxi fixed in time for her to go to her destination

"Miss...I'm sorry...there's nothing I can do," the man said, shaking his head and moving away from the smoke rising from his car. It was frustrating that I walked back to the back seat, opened it angrily, and took my purse. I didn't have to pay the fool for being such a bad driver hence I made my way to the other side of the road hoping to get a taxi. In this particular area, I didn't see any cars passing

"Oh god... should I call Vivie?"I was a little devastated by everything but when I saw a white car approaching. I didn't even mind judging by how expensive it looked. It seemed to be a personal car hence I shielded my eyes and tried to look the other way ignoring the driver just by fixing his car. Just as I thought the car would drive right past me. I was startled when it stopped right before me. I stepped backward angry because the person must be blind to just park his car where I was

"Jerk" I muttered and prepared to walk a little to the left when the door opened and the person who walked out surprised me

"You?"It was Maverick looking more handsome than before. I didn't know he looked good in casual but of course, he had the looks and a nice jawline

"It seems I used the right road," the man said shamelessly as he approached me but I didn't want to see him especially when he did something earlier

"Did the doc decide to stop work and stalk me huh?"I remarked sarcastically and Maverick ended up laughing as he took off his sunglasses and smiled at me

"Of course not but...I was wondering how you entered your apartment when…" he started saying and showed me a card. I didn't know what he meant but looking at it. My eyes widened because that was my keys

"My keys?"I must have forgotten them in his office but how did he know I was here or did he put a tracker on me "thanks" I snatched my keys from him and frowned

"I was invited for a day out...do you wanna join me," he said hesitantly and looking at him he didn't seem sincere because just like that he was asking me out. What happened to my reputation as a spoiled girl. No, he was a fool. I had to say no. Vivie was away having fun with Victor and I was all alone about to go somewhere maybe the beach

"No thanks...I have different plans" I refused to flip my hair cheekily and faced the other way and waited for him to leave. The man laughed in a mocking way getting my attention and I saw him heading back to his car

"Then I better tell Vivienne that her friend doesn't want to, "Maverick said, opening his car door and my eyes widened in shock. I smiled and rushed to him and slammed the door shut before he got in

"Is Vi…"

"Hmm" he answered before I could even finish my sentence. I missed her a lot and if he wanted to see me then I was happy to go with Maverick. I quickly opened the front seat door happy about the fact that I would see Vivie

"Hurry up will you?"I shouted for him to hurry while I strapped in the seatbelt.

Maverick, who was left standing outside, smirked knowing he managed to fool her. Yes, he had a word with Vivie, unfortunately, she was busy with Victor, therefore, she asked him to take care of Alexis and he was willing to do that even if he had to tolerate a spoiled girl like her.
