"Please take care of yourself and the baby...if you feel any pain then don't hesitate to call me"Maverick said to the pregnant lady she was from attending to while escorting her out of his office and the lady nodded with a smile plastered on her face

"Thanks, doctor...have a wonderful day," the lady said with a smile and was led away by the nurse. Maverick smiled warmly and walked back into his office

So far his day was okay not to mention the countless patients he had earlier but now there was nothing for him to do. As much as he wanted to sit back and relax he didn't know if that was possible when his days were nothing but trouble

"Damn it all to hell" he muttered a curse, nearly throwing everything on his table from anger. He was never this careless with life. He never drank alcohol as he did two days ago and so far that night was still haunting his dreams and reality. He didn't expect something so terrible to happen to the point of being handcuffed which was a full taint to his clean reputation

"Hey doc...so I guess you are off the clock" the door opened unexpectedly and Justin walked in but stopped when he saw his friend half sitting on the desk lost in thoughts

"Do you have any patients I can look at?"Maverick asked and got off the desk and made his way to his seat. Justin was surprised, narrowing his eyes in disbelief. It wasn't every time that Maverick got a free day like this one which everyone wanted so badly. He was supposed to be happy and finally have a good relaxation at home but here he was demanding more patients to attend to

"Well no...just go home okay…"Justin said, shaking his head. Maverick didn't look like himself lately. He was a total mess and unprofessional. It was worrying him to see such a distinguished doctor make mistakes.

"Has Vivie decided to tell Victor?"Maverick asked instead, changing the topic. He wanted to know if Vivie thought about telling Victor the truth for once. He wanted to do so on multiple occasions but she asked him not to do that

"She's afraid but I think now is the right time for that"Justin said knowing Vivienne needed to tell Victor about Skylar being her daughter before things escalated.

"I need to have a word with her...if she prolongs this...huge problems will be created" he made a mistake in the past..he did something horrible which Victor would hate him for. But he had no choice but to do that. If Vivie was scared then he was the one to explain to Victor to make him understand that whatever happened wasn't Vivienne's fault

"Then you better do that...and Vic called...you should go to his office, "Justin said, nodding at him and Maverick looked up, not sure what to say. He was free now and had no excuse not to see Victor but he didn't want to see that girl. She was frustrating him to the point where the sight of her made him angry. However, he had no choice but to go to Victor's office right away.

"So I did that and do you know what that doctor did...he beat those men to a pulp"Alexis explained her dramatic story laughing in the midst of it but I didn't find anything funny. She was making fun of doctor Maverick. He was a sweetheart, I failed to understand why Alexis disliked the doctor when he was a nice man.

"Alex...you shouldn't do that...he's a kind man" I refused to think doctor Maverick started a fight like she said unless he was provoked to get violent. Men like Victor, Maverick, and Justin were calm like the serene waters of the sea. They never got angry that easily which made them cool around especially doctors Justin and Maverick. Victor did show his anger in the cruelest way that I found out when he beat up those things that kidnapped me in the past. And well our bedroom affairs, he was terrifying in those fields but Alex was wrong

"He got arrested for assault...he's a bad doctor...he should be fired,"exis said despite the countless times I told her the doctor was a good man. I didn't want to argue with her hence I stayed quiet and waited for the taxi to reach our destination. Soon the cab came to a halt right before the entrance of the Ellison building.

"Thanks," I said, handing the driver the money, and Alexis and I walked away. It was Monday and so far I was excited about this day. Not sure why but there was something in the air which made me feel so fresh, I was feeling a little fuzzy and warm inside like something good was going to happen hence I smiled and held my purse close and the bag I put my laptop and files in

The glass doors opened and we walked in chatting over random things when found reception full of employees

"Wow...I wonder who the secret admirer is...so pretty" I looked up at the people and found the place filled with flowers

"Woah" Alexis exclaimed smiling which had me thinking.

"So beautiful...I would love someone to send such romantic flowers... Vivienne is so lucky," one of the interns said and some other employees nodded. Hearing my name my eyes narrowed as I walked closer to the receptionist not sure what was happening. Alexis followed too

"Hey Vivie... someone sent these for you," the receptionist lady said with a smile showing me all the different flowers placed over the counter. There were so many exotic ones that the sight was beautifully nice. I was stunned as she handed me a bouquet of lilies mixed with some more flowers. Alexis was busy admiring the flowers and all eyes were on me. Even the male employees had stopped to watch and passed in some comments about disturbing the workplace

"Umm...who brought these?"I asked nervously, not sure if it was Victor who gave me such flowers.

"No idea but it's everywhere sweetie...the second floor is full of em...it's like they got you an entire garden of flowers" this time Lina, one of the supervisors we had joined in and said. Her expression was rather timid that I saw but who brought this.

"Oh...look there's a card"Alexis exclaimed in cheers making me even more embarrassed than I already was. Victor went too far this time. I thought we said no to doing this publicly but here he was surprising me with all sorts of flowers at the office

"Give it please, "I said trying to get the card from Alex unfortunately Brea snatched it from her first ad opened it before I could stop her

"I wonder what kind of man likes you, "Brea remarked sarcastically just as the entrance door opened, getting our attention, and Victor was accompanied by four men in suits. Like I was surprised, he too seemed surprised seeing the large crowd of employees gathered there all murmuring something about me and the secret admirer making his feelings for me known. I looked at him as he stood there with narrowed eyes and shifted his gaze around and to the lovely bouquet in my hands. I smiled faintly then averted my eyes from him knowing it was him who did this

"Thank you my lovely lady for the wonderful time we had together last night...you are indeed a beautiful girl with a pure heart… hoping to see you again...with love MM" like a fool Brea read what was written in the card just as Alexis snatched it from her

"How dare you disrespect her...don't you have manners"Alexis snarled but the damage was already done looking at Victor standing there with a dark expression and hearing the words Brea said had me sweating from fear. My eyes shifted to the flowers around and realized something, the flowers weren't from Victor that was clear.

"What's going on here" Priscilla came and said coldly and like the entire crowd just realized the boss had arrived they got scared and scattered away.

"Vivienne, what's this?"Priscilla asked, gesturing at the flowers around but I just shook my head not knowing a thing. I glanced towards the door but there was no Victor he already stormed away and I just saw him entering his private elevator and his expression was something to fear

"Please get rid of this... maybe it was sent by accident," I said, not sure what to do. Who was that double M that said I was with him last night because I didn't recall ever going out with anyone

"Vivienne...you weren't with anyone yesterday...so what is this?"Alexis asked running after me since I was so embarrassed about everything. Everyone we're looking at me like I did something wrong which was not the issue. But what Victor was thinking now. Last night I told him I wasn't answering his calls because I was busy shopping unfortunately now that he saw what happened especially the letter Brea read out loud, I knew he would think I lied to him

"Vivie wait up!"I heard Alexis from behind but I already entered the elevator heading to our office. This was bad...I needed to fix this but how and who sent the flowers to my place of work

"M... Mauricio" suddenly the name clicked in my head because I only talked to one man the previous day but how dare he sent something horrible like this
