Alexis was pacing back and forth in the living room after she saw something she wasn't expecting to see. Especially from Vivienne..the girl she thought was innocent. She didn't think Vivienne would sleep with their boss. Which meant the last time she came and saw her with hickeys all over, it was Victor who did that to her. This was shocking on all levels that all she wanted was for her friend to explain why she hid this from her and how long has this been going on
The door to the bedroom opened and closed carefully and behind her came Vivienne wearing a robe this time.
"Alex I can…"
"Explain what?"Alexis cut me off when I just came to her to explain what was going on. Whatever impression she had about Victor and I wasn't what it seemed
"Vic and I...he's…."
"I didn't know that to get through this internship you would sleep with our boss!"Alexis made a low yell cutting me off as she pointed her index finger at me. I shook my head in denial because that wasn't it. The look she gave me was something I didn't want to see. She didn't understand this. I wasn't doing this for work or to get good results. She knew me better than that
"That's not it... please show some respect he's in there...I wouldn't do that... you know me" I was disappointed in her. Was this how much she thought of me. To sleep around with men just for work.
"Maybe I don't know you, Vivie...I know nothing about you...but what I just saw wouldn't be erased by a simple excuse...I looked up to you Vivie!"
"You are wrong okay...you shouldn't say that Alex...I would never…please go I'll explain later"
"Act so cheap by sleeping with a Billionaire...oh of course this is a new era…" she remarked rudely upon cutting me off in the middle of my sentence. She was hurting me by accusing me of being so cheap. She knew how much I cherished my body. If I was so cheap then I would have slept with half the rich men in the city when I was young and helpless with no place to sleep or call my own. At times I didn't even have a damn dime in my pocket. She knew nothing about me
"What...cat cut your tongue...I must say you are cunning...I should have known this is the real you Vivie...a disgusting girl who I trusted and called a sister!" she yelled so much that I couldn't take her insults anymore. Yes, she found me in a bad situation with Victor and I didn't feel ashamed at all. I didn't care what people said about me, especially if I gave myself and my body to a man I always dreamed about. The man I yearned for. I was about to say something when the door to the bedroom opened.
Getting our attention. My heart raced, not sure why Victor was coming out now. I saw as an angry Alexis shifted her eyes towards the man approaching and I melted completely. This wasn't the time for Victor to come out. He was supposed to stay in until I was done here because Alexis and I had some things to clear, however when I felt his presence so close to me. My head lowered even more
"G... morning sir m...my apologies"Alexis stammered the words out nervously like a soaked cat and I saw as she fought to keep still. She was probably scared of Victor especially seeing him here and when I lifted my head to see the man. He was already dressed in the clothes he came with
"Ms. Crawley...next time kindly knock before entering, "the man said lazily and I was stunned. I simply looked up at him and he was staring right at me with cold sharp eyes. My heart was restless, not sure why he would say that to poor Alex who knew nothing, and seeing Alexis sweating from fear I prepared to tell Victor something when he pulled me in his arms shocking me again
"Vic...please go" I mumbled when he slammed me to his chest and held the back of my neck firmly and he nestled in the crook of my neck
"Choose less nosy friends...she's fired...I'll see you later...have an emergency" he muttered parting his lips slightly and I felt him kiss me there. I didn't want this hence I nodded and moved away from him. He caressed my face before he planted a kiss on my forehead and turned to walk away
I stood there as butterflies formed in my stomach. Twisting and turning as I watched the man open the door and disappeared out. The door closed and only then did I return my attention to Alexis whose mouth was open. Her jaw had dropped and her eyes widened in awe. Of course, I knew she was going to say so many mean things to me
"Tell me the truth...what's going on Vivie?" she asked, regaining her wits and I exhaled in frustration running my hands in my hair and then down my face. I had nothing to say to her but seeing the questionable expression she had I had no choice but to explain myself to her hence I did what was necessary
"Come on," I said, gesturing for her to follow me to the sitting area. She was hesitant even when I sat down and waited for her to join me. is she was eager to know who Vivie then she had to listen to me hence I looked at her with arched brows
"So... explain because I don't understand why you are with that man...he's 11 years older than you and…"
"A rich man...so it's likely I would use my beauty and body to lure him in and have his money" I mockingly finished her sentence knowing this was what she wanted to say to me. That I trapped a rich man like Victor in my web
"It's not like that but...I didn't expect you with him" she said defensively avoiding my gaze but I didn't blame her. She didn't know about my Surrogate story
"To everyone, he's your boss...but to me…"I started saying and she looked at me with arched brows "he's the man I've always loved...the same man I told you about three years ago" I added because I recalled her asking me why I left London and I told her I ran away from the man I lived. Like before her eyes widened in awe. She was perplexed about every as her expression turned blank like she didn't hear a word I said to her but I was serious. Victor was their boss, not mine
"Y...you mean...the jerk who made you sad...is that man?" she exclaimed disdainfully and I nodded lightly and fiddled with my fingers
"Yes, Alex...the man I love and the man who owns me completely is that same jerk who just left."I didn't have to hide this from her, especially when we treated each other like sisters. She has the right to know everything hence I started from scratch. I told her everything that happened in the past and what led me to be Victor's Surrogate. I didn't leave any detail about my life except for the fact that Skylar was my biological daughter
"Are you a fool Vivie...how can you leave just because you didn't find anyone by your side?"Alexis said with gasps slapping me on the shoulder playfully which had me rolling my eyes. She didn't know what I went through. How much Victor meant to me
"I'm still scared Alex...what if he finds a woman better than me"I didn't have to lie or act strongly about Victor. The fear of him getting tired of a helpless girl like me. I was nothing compared to other girls. Which made me fear losing him to a woman better than me
"Actually...I think he does have everything for you...I always wondered why he looked at you like that...at first, I thought he was one of those perverted rich men who took interest in their employees," she said, throwing her hands in the air. A minute ago she was calling me a shameless girl but now she was happy so suddenly.
"It's nothing okay...he's not a god" she didn't have to be so thrilled hearing that Victor and I were dating. But Alexis was Alexis. She never missed a chance to praise someone to the fullest and Victor was too on her list
"What? Bitch are you crazy...he's the biggest fish in the sea...so handsome...the way he hugged you earlier...damn so romantic so hot"Alexis went on and one exaggerating about Victor and me..it was too much that I had to do something about her wild fantasies. She went too far really
"No no...should we make it ViViC...it's cute right...your name and his combined" she squealed jumping off her chair for a second I thought she would fall unfortunately that didn't happen.
"No...that doesn't make sense and please quit it okay...I have to shower now because I have somewhere to go"I said getting up from the sofa not sure why she was like this. I already had somewhere to go and with Victor gone I had to shower and then see Beverly
"Yeah yeah...but you two make a good couple...oh man can't wait for you to be Mrs. Vivienne Victor Ellison" she rushed to me when I was about to go to my room and hugged me unexpectedly. This was too much she was a grown woman but acting like a child
"Alex come on"I shrugged her off and she ended up holding my hand and twirled me like some kid
"Yeah you need a wardrobe change buddy...you are going out with The Victor Ellison...did you buy any cute lingerie to set him on fire," he remarked blinking mischievously at me and giggling shyly and I was about to burst from embarrassment.
"No that's bad...stop it"I scolded her and changed direction towards the kitchen and she followed me still giggling like a child
"This is serious Vivie...you need to make him go wild for you...just one glance...in fact, you need to tell the employees you are their boss's woman," she remarked slamming her hand on the counter startling me
"No one should know okay...it's best that way"I didn't want anyone in the office finding out Victor and I were a couple much less Monica or anyone. At the end of the day, they wouldn't believe that I was in love with the man, not his money or status
"Vivie... friendly advice...you said it yourself...you love him and he's the one who wants you...forget people and enjoy life"Alexis was a good friend and someone I trusted more than anyone. After Leo, she was like a sister to me. I told her everything so she knew I wasn't a gold digger

"Don't give me excuses...I hope you told him that some insane woman is trying to harm you" she cut me off and said with a cold glare. Another thing I didn't hide from her. She was aware of this
"He won't believe me, trust me...I need solid proof...Alex I don't even know the woman doing this and why"I tried to tell Victor on multiple occasions but I just couldn't, especially the issue concerning his late wife. If I told him Alisa was murdered. He would want proof that I didn't have
"Both of us will catch that psycho bitch...she should know we are stronger together" saying that she pulled me in a hug leaving me no choice but to entertain her. She was crazy and was probably of Victor's most hated people for barging in without knocking but Vic had to get used to her. She was my best friend
"So now...we should bathe, eat and start our project... Priscilla said your handsome Daddy gave us a week"Alexis moved back and said as a smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. I wasn't happy, especially referring to Victor as my Daddy. It was way too naughty
"I'll kick you out"I warned her coldly but she continued laughing like it was so funny
