I was woken up by the chirping of various birds. The cold breeze caressing my exposed skin made me groan because I was being disturbed
"Ahh" I couldn't take it as I stretched my arms dragging a pillow beneath my head. I was aching everywhere, my body didn't feel like mine. I turned and laid on my back and I felt a little better even though every part of my body was in agonizing pain. I tried opening my eyes but they felt so heavy. However, even so, my eyes flickered open, adjusting a little to the bright room. The first rays of sunlight lit up my room. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in causing me to yawn as I rubbed my eyes which were heavy and blurry. It was a beautiful morning. I was utterly confused as I shifted my gaze around then to my bed. I was wearing a white robe. I was surprised how I found myself wearing such an unfortunate outfit when I saw some pillows scattered on the floor. I knew I did something terrible
"Oh god Vivie...now what"this was horrible. The images of the previous night hit me like an ocean wave. The pain between my legs explained what I allowed to happen and seeing the empty bed which was colder than anything, I guessed Victor already left. Slowly but surely and with all my strength, I pushed myself out of bed biting my lower, the pain that monster inflicted on me was too much that even stepping my feet on the tiled floor hurt badly
"Did he leave just like that or did he run away" I muttered frowning as I stood up adjusting the robe I was wearing? I guess the man ran me a bath because even my hair seemed like it was washed. I smiled shyly picturing Victor bathing me. Seeing the beautiful morning it would have been better if he was there but he ran away
"Wow the sun is out," I said, seeing how bright it looked outside. The sun poured through my window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. The light of dawn seeped into my room. I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky. I always loved mornings but this one was extra blissful and brought a smile to my face. I drew the curtains apart, smiling as the gentle breeze caressed my skin. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene.
I left my room and went to the living room. I failed to understand why Victor left without telling me first. I didn't show I fell asleep but I recalled perfectly well how we made love to the extreme.
"Huh?"I stopped in my tracks once I reached the living room only to find a tray of food on the table with a bouquet of red roses beside it. This was strange but I walked up close and hesitantly scanned what was on the plate and it was breakfast. From my favorite french toast to nicely made pancakes with syrup. It was mesmerizing to see how the man had made breakfast for me and when I spotted a small plastic beside the flowers I picked everything in my hands scanning the fresh roses which smelled delightful. A smile crept to my lips as butterflies swarmed my stomach. The feeling was unexplainable. Something I didn't expect from Victor but when I reached inside the little plastic bag. I took out a small bottle of medicine
"Take one once you wake up...and eat your breakfast sweetheart" I read the note attached to the bouquet then shifted my eyes to the bottle. I guess these would prevent pregnancy. Thinking up to here I felt shy, not sure why I had to ask Victor for contraceptives but I didn't want to be distracted that was why I had to be careful. My relationship with Victor was a little confusing but soon we would figure it out
"He's such a bully" I muttered as soon as I popped the pill in my mouth and gulped a glass of water to wash it down. I felt refreshed and ready to take a shower to head to the Ellison mansion. Hopefully, I didn't have to see Victor again. I was about to go back to my room when there was a doorbell..with the great speed I hurried to get it and I certainly the door opened..a smile crept on my face when I saw Alexis standing there looking fresh and gorgeous
"Hey sweetie," I said smiling,g and pulled her in a hug. She didn't know how happy I was but everything felt so great
"What's gotten into you?" she asked, frowning as she moved away from me. Of course, I was happy to see her
"Well, I missed you okay"I arched my brows at her and let her in.
"Oh please if you did then you would have called me...but you didn't" she spat out angrily but I just laughed knowing I forgot about her. Having Victor around was something else
"So what brought you here?"I asked and sat on the couch and took some pancakes and freshly made pineapple juice and Alexis narrowed her eyes at me
"To see you and because well I decided?"
"Decided on what?"I asked nonchalantly as I ate the delicious pancakes. Victor was a talented man. I wondered how he was almost too perfect
"Well...I'm going to see that rude doctor" Alexis said after some time and I instantly looked up at her with a shocked expression. I swallowed the food in my throat not sure why she was going back to doctor Maverick when she decided to hate him for life
"Don't look at me like that...I'm only going to ask him the name of the meds he gave me" she said rolling her eyes in annoyance and tried to take the toast from my plate but I slapped her hand away before she could
"Get your own food," I said, arching my brows at her. She frowned, scanning me carefully but I wasn't going to let another woman eat what my man prepared for me. She should find her own man, not my Victor
"Huh I see...so now this is happening...tell me something Ms. Payton, "Alexis remarked straightening a little and crossing her arms over her chest as if she found something wrong with me
"I'll give you a few bucks to buy breakfast...this is mine"
"You have hickeys all over you…" she said, getting my attention and I looked up at her with my mouthful. The food turned sour as sweat formed on my forehead
"W...what...I mean...no" I stuttered, reaching for my neck and adjusting the robe so it could hide my chest and neck. Of course recalling how I got those I felt so embarrassed so ashamed that if the ground could open up then I would have been thankful if I was swallowed whole because my night was fire
"Red...love... bite marks...did I miss something...you won't let me eat your food which looks like it's for ten people and you are acting strange, "the lady said, scanning me like some detective. Of course, I was nervous "oh look romantic flowers"she said with a mischievous smile shifting her attention to the bouquet of roses and took it from the table. Alexis was irritating hence I snatched the flowers from her and set them to my side. She was too much. I didn't know why she came here but I was so nervous that I cursed myself for letting Victor leave some shameful love marks on me. He liked biting too much not just that but even the flowers
"Well... actually...it's just that I'm hungry and I want to eat all this and these flowers...I bought myself "I didn't even know what to say to get out of the predicament I was in knowing Alexis caught something. She knew a lot about men more than I did so she could suspect me
"Do you have a bf...wow bestie what does he look like...did you guys do the hokie-pokie...oh my gosh!"Alexis clapped a few times exclaiming loudly like a kid and twirled like a child. She was embarrassing me to the extent where I slammed my plan on my forehead not sure what to do
"No...I must have scratched myself in my sleep okay" I said defensively shutting her up and I rose from the couch angrily
"Yeah but...did you do the deed... Vivie oh gosh are you dating" the lady kept saying smiling at me and I had enough that I grabbed her by the arm and dragged her towards the door as she kept on asking so many questions
"And stay out," I said throwing her out of my apartment and slamming the door shut with a loud bang
"Geez Vivie"I couldn't believe Alexis would be so sharp as to see through me but I had to relax because in a few minutes I was going to the Ellison mansion to babysit Skylar since it was the weekend. I was looking forward to this knowing after three years I would step on the Ellison grounds. I wondered how Monica would react to seeing me.
