"But wasn't it fair to you and your father...I mean why didn't she just give the baby to you and your dad to take care of her". It was hard to believe that a woman was capable of doing something so evil to her unborn child. Hearing Leo I was heartbroken. I thought I had a rough childhood but Leo had it worse, being rejected by his mother who was so evil as to try to harm her unborn baby all because she hated her husband. A woman like her was a disgrace to motherhood.

"When she left us...we thought she would give birth and bring back my sister but later dad and I found...she got married"Leo said smiling faintly. Even if he was smiling I could still see the pain in his eyes. I didn't want to say this but his mom was an evil woman. Other women were crying because they were not capable of having a child of their own and she wanted to terminate one. If I could say anything then she was exactly like the woman who gave birth to me. She abandoned me when I was just born. I had no identity whatsoever. It pained me every day whenever I saw families having fun together so perfectly but I was all alone. This was why I chose to chase my dreams and was willing to do anything to be someone

"My dad asked her what happened to my sister...she said the baby didn't make it...it was heartbreaking and my dad couldn't take it anymore...he ended his life just like that" by now I was hugging him in my arms tightly. He was hurting inside and I knew it wasn't easy for him to tell me about everything. His heart was so fragile and I guess this was why he was overprotective of me. He thought he couldn't protect his little sister in the past that was why he defended me no matter what

"Then you don't have to worry...I'll be your sister...I promise not to leave you" he didn't have to worry about anything. He wasn't alone and he didn't have to be disheartened after what happened in his childhood. Leo moved away from me and cupped my face and looked at me with a soft gaze.

"Do you mean it, sweetie...I don't need your sympathy okay...all this is nothing I'm just worried about you" he remarked with a half frown which made him look so cute that I couldn't help but pinch his cheeks lovingly. It wasn't pitied I felt but concern

"It's not pity okay...it's just that our stories seem familiar...I was abandoned to rot just like that...we can give each other courage to go on living" I said hoping he understood my point. In life, it was all about surviving and pushing through no matter what. I felt his pain however I promised to be his little sister no matter what

"Fine...I guess I could tolerate a redhead my entire life...you are so cute" he said creasing my hair as if I were a child and both of us ended up laughing. With all that talking I forgot about my food.

"It's getting late...I think I should go" he said getting up but I didn't want him to leave. It was best he stayed with me

"Maybe you should stay...I mean I'd love it...if you.."

"Are you sure that grumpy man will like the idea of me spending the night here?" he asked arching his brows and I knew where he was going with his words. But why should I worry about a man who didn't value me

"He's not important" I simply said and Leo chuckled. His eyes beamed in delight and I was happy he was loosening up a bit

"Then I'll take the couch," he said and we started clearing out the dishes. I guess I didn't have to be alone and if Alexis decided to join us then it would be great.

"There was no need for that"Victor said when Martha entered his bedroom after Skylar ran out immediately after he met Victor. Martha stood there fiddling with her hands

"Vic... Priscilla said Sky was refusing babysitters so I went to get her from school"  Martha said hoping Victor didn't get upset. She only did what she thought was right for Skylar and Victor.

"I didn't ask did I?" Victor remarked arching his brows at Martha

"Vic I…"

"You shouldn't get involved... Ms. Payton was there I asked her to get Sky...be mindful of what you do next time"

"Yes, Vic...I didn't know Vivienne was given permission" Martha said lowering her gaze. She saw Vivienne there but she didn't know Victor asked her to get Skylar. She didn't even know Vivienne was back in town. Victor seemed angry all because she took Skylar away but she didn't do anything but just took her for ice cream and a tour around the city.

Skylar had fun but Victor didn't like that idea

"Leave," the man said without even looking at her. It was heartbreaking but she obeyed the man and left his room. Whatever it was she preferred not to get Victor angry than he already was

"And why did you take my niece huh...do you know how worried I was"Monica said as soon as Martha came out of Victor's office. She had been waiting for the doctor to show her face and put her in her place

"Spare me your insults Moni...I only did it for Sky no one else" Martha said defensively and walked past Monica and went straight to the stairs. Monica didn't waste time as she left from there just as Sky left her room and ran to Victor's bedroom

"Just send via me the email...I'll check and see what they have to do, "Victor said over the phone as he walked around his room getting files and tossing them on the bed. He still had to choose the project the interns had to do for him to see who was capable. Of course, his eyes were on the redhead. He wanted to give her something challenging

"Great great...then if everything is ready to send it to all six of them...and it should be done in three days tor said sitting down in his bed and drag dragging the laptop close. It was interesting and he was eager to see the outcome. He asked the supervisor to handle the matter but she just called him to confirm if to go ahead. Victor finished up and disconnected the call

"Hope she doesn't fail me" he muttered hoping his redhead comes on top. If not then she would be in trouble

"Papa?" the door opened and his princess ran inside giggling not sure what made her so happy. Victor shoved his work off and smiled when Skylar jumped in his arms and he let her sit on his lap

"Sweetie...is Kyan chasing you?" he asked brushing a few strands of hair which had fallen over her cute face away but sky shook her head and snuggled in his chest

"Then I'm upset with you...I thought you wanted to see the first princess…" he muttered looking at her but Skylar just pouted cutely. Her little dimples showed and Victor melted. She was way too cute and getting upset with her was out of the question

"Tell me...do you like her?" he asked again. He thought she knew who the redhead was since Kyan went all out in showing her all Vivienne's pics since she was born

"She's pretty…".

"Then why did you refuse her" he frowned when she left his lap and ended up sitting on the bed instead. He looked at her and saw a mischievous smile dancing at the corners of her little lips. It seemed Skylar was pretending to dislike Vivienne

"Papa she's too pretty...does Papa like her?" the girl asked covering her eyes with her little hands and Victor's eyes widened in surprise. He didn't expect his little girl would know such a thing

"Sky...shh... Papa doesn't like her okay "he refused to smile at her but Skylar shook her head in denial. He didn't know how his daughter noticed that. Of course, he liked the redhead and he only said what was in his heart to his daughter which was a bad idea because it seemed Skylar remembered

"Come here, sweetheart...Papa will tell you all"Victor whispered and reached to the sky unfortunately she was too busy laughing at him like a grown-up. It wasn't funny because he had a job for her to do

"Papa doesn't want the first princess...but she's pretty...Kyan said you...like her...yes Kyan said that Papa likes pretty hair...do you Papa?" she asked blinking at him with a straight face and Victor was speechless. Leaving Sky in the hands of its turned out to be a terrible idea. What else did they discuss about him.. of course, Kyan was such a fool to actually tell Sky everything and now the little girl was looking at him with an innocent face as if she was a grown-up waiting for an answer. Victor ran his hands in his hair helplessly. Victor smiled faintly and moved closer to the sky and pulled her in his arms

"Do you like her sweetie?" he murmured as he creased her soft hair. He wanted to know if his little girl liked Vivienne or not. Skylar and vivienne needed to learn to get along and after a while, he noticed she was fast asleep

"I guess our discussion about redhead can wait" he mumbled smiling at his predicament. He couldn't believe he was discussing Vivienne with his daughter

"Okay...shh" he muttered carefully laying her on the left side of the bee. It seemed she was going to spend the night in his room

"I..like her"Sky mumbled in her sleep surprising Victor who turned around and found her sleeping soundly. He smiled helplessly guessing both girls would be fine as long as they learned to share him. Thinking up to here he felt helpless.
