"Her babysitter?"Victor repeated the words I just told him and I nodded. If they couldn't get anyone to watch Skylar then I was willing to do that. At least that way I would stay close to my daughter and finally spend some quality time with her and know exactly what she liked. Priscilla was called hence she left us alone

"Yes sir...I can watch her during my spare time I'm sure it won't be so much trouble" I said smiling at the girl and Victor looked at me for a good amount of time. I didn't know this but the way father and daughter were sitting looked kinda nice. Victor did look like Skylar more. I was lucky Skylar didn't resemble me one bit. Anyone could have suspected the blue eyes but mine was light blue and Skylar had a deep blue color. I was certain her eyes wanted to have a little Amber brown from Victor's side hence the perfect blend of colors

"Sweetie...do you want her as your babysitter?"Victor turned his attention to Skylar who was snuggling to him like a spoiled girl. I wanted to see how she was peeking out to look at me. I didn't know if she felt shy seeing me because every time she saw me. She didn't utter a word other than stare at me

"No...don't want her"surprisingly Skylar refused, shaking her little head slightly. Victor's brows knitted together as he glanced up at me and felt a sharp pain in my heart. I averted my eyes from him and turned to leave. I guess this was it, I thought I could get close to her but she didn't want that. Of course, why would she do that when she didn't know me. I was just a stranger to her. She knew only Alisa as her mother because I was certain Victor already introduced the mother of his child to her. I was a fool to overreact knowing I didn't have any rights over Skylar

"Ms. Payton" Victor called me when I was about to open the door and I was hesitant to turn around, afraid that he would see through me. I was her mother even if I had no rights over Skylar I still wanted to hold her in my arms to my heart's content but no. That wasn't likely to happen

"Sir don't worry...it seems she doesn't want anyone to babysit her...she seems like a sweet girl," I said with a warm smile, biting back the gush of pain rising in my chest. Victor lifted Skylar in his arms, adjusting her to a comfortable position, and got up from the chair. I saw how Skylar held on to Victor and hid her face against his chest and I knew she loved him more than anything.

"Sweetie, do you know who she is?"Victor said softly and tried to pry her off his chest. Sky didn't seem to want to look at me and I understood that perfectly well

"It's okay sir...I'm sure she doesn't do well with strangers...I'll take my leave" I said, still smiling at him. I didn't want him to force things especially when Sky didn't want to look at me. I left the conference room with a heavy heart but told myself to keep calm because this was what I had to endure if I wanted to keep this secret from victor

"Hey, what took you so long?"Alexis asked me Immediately I got back to my desk and o shook my head and sat down

"Nothing...are you going somewhere?"I asked seeing how busy she was arranging her desk and she nodded

"Well have to go to the hospital...my problem is getting out of hand," she said showing her tummy and I understood what she meant. Alexis suffered from stomach aches from time to time. The doctor said it was normal but I didn't think so. I always looked after her whenever episodes kicked in and now she looked rather pale

"Is it hurting that much...Alex why didn't you stay back and rest? "I said, getting up to feel her forehead and she was burning us. Even her body was so hot that I got worried. She was a sweet girl but this made her miserable and I felt sad. If I had the power then I would have taken care of her

"I'm fine as long as I get checked here, maybe they can give me some meds to help me," she said, sounding a little off and I decided to escort her. I didn't want her to go by herself what if she passed out along the way

"Then I'll go with you...I know two doctors who can help you" I said, gathering my things in a hurry so I could go with her. I was now in London and I was yet to meet the two doctors who ruined again so I thought it would be nice to ask for a favor from doctor Justin and Maverick. Maybe they could help her

"No no...you have to stay...I asked for leave from Priscilla and she wasn't too happy...if you leave as well she'll be super angry" Alexis said, shaking her head and holding my hand for me to stay. I looked at her and didn't know what to say. She was so silly

"I'll explain later this is important," I said ignoring her words and grabbing her hand and dragging her away from there. There still were other employees

While Vivienne and Alexis were away Victor was sitting in his office lost in thoughts. He was supposed to go to the hospital to check the new purchase of medicine they needed but he was still debating on whether to let Justin handle the matter then again he didn't want to afford to allow drugs he hadn't checked himself.

"Sir, the last meeting is two hours from now...should I reschedule it?"Jason said after a while not sure why his boss wasn't replying to him. He seemed too lost in thoughts to hear a word he said but this was important. It was either he told him to cancel or give a go-ahead

"Did you contact Justin?"Victor finally asked regaining his senses and Jason nodded

"He's waiting for you...he asked me if you could go as soon as possible"Jason said and Victor nodded helplessly

"Ms. Payton I gave her work an hour ago...is she done yet?" he asked, opening his laptop and fixing his eyes on the screen. Jason was hesitant, not sure what to say. On his way out he met the lady running out together with her friend. He didn't ask her but he asked Priscilla if she sent her and Priscilla denied sending them anywhere hence Jason

"S...sir...I saw her leaving a while ago…" Jason said nervously and Victor looked up at him. He gave her work to do and since she requested to be treated like the rest of the employees he was doing that

"And where did she go...these are still working hours...did anyone send her!"Victor lashed out and Jason was even more scared. His boss didn't look so pleased with all that he felt fear. He shook his head, not sure what to say. He didn't know where the lady went

"Fine...get the car ready, "Victor remarked and waved him off. Jason nodded and bowed before he turned to walk away. Victor slammed his fist on the table feeling irritated. He saw her earlier but he wasn't done. He wanted to see her every second. He didn't understand where the unquenchable thirst of yearning for his Surrogate came from but he had no control over his burning desires and he longed to do despicable things to her. He was the only man allowed to touch her and no one else

Yes, he felt bad that his daughter didn't want her as her babysitter which he understood because it took a little time for Skyla to get used to strangers although he did everything possible to make sure Skylar knew Vivienne even if she wasn't there. Aside from Skylar knowing her real mother Alisa. Victor made sure his daughter got a little familiar with Vivienne. She was important to him

But for now, he decided to go to the hospital and deal with pending work then later he promised to visit her and settle the score. She started a fire three years ago and left him to burn alone. She knew any better than to start something and back out when she destroyed everything.

"Vivie...are you sure the doctor won't mind?"Alexis asked when the taxi dropped us off at Victor's hospital. It was just like I left it although a bit different from the outside since they painted a different color. The flowers around were all nice and beautiful

"Yes I know doctor Justin and doctor Maverick", I said, dragging her towards the entrance and she looked paler than before. She was sweating even though it was slightly cold. If she didn't get treated then she would get sick and I didn't want that. Alexis was delicate and I was like her big sister to take care of her

"Come... you'll see he's very nice" I assured her knowing everything would be okay and we would get back to work before anyone noticed. I just hoped Victor was too busy to ask for me. I left the work he gave me in the middle but besides that, Alexis's health was more important.
