Chapter 101: Chapter 101

They were both silent, and Alessia didn't know how she would react to what her husband said. She didn't know where he was coming from, but Alessia sat down because her leg was so weak. In Alessia's eyes, she didn't know anymore what he would do and how she would fix everything.

They were at the condominium and Dred was standing holding the paper while Alessia was sitting down looking at the floor crying. Dred didn't do anything and just looked at her, but he was praying as well to have something that they could turn around. their attention because it was draining the two of them.

She was about to speak when her phone started to ring. She didn't have the courage to stand up, but the phone was presented by Dred.

"It's your Mom. I think it's urgent." Dred said

Alessia was just staring at it, puzzled as to why her mother would call at such an inconvenient time, but she decided to answer it when she saw Dred waiting for his parents to say something.

"Hello Mom?"

Alessia was confused because she could only hear sobs and felt terrified.

"Y-your father"

Alessia was feeling distressed because her mom couldn't tell what really happened.

"Mom, what happened to Dad?"

Dred kneeled down to assist his wife because Alessia was also hysterical.

"Your father was sent to the hospital, and..."

Alessia was biting her nails, but Dred prevented her from doing that by intertwining their hands.

"He's in critical condition," Emelda said.

Alessia didn't do anything, and she was just staring at the floor, lost and feeling numb, but she was being filled up.

"What are you doing?" Alessia asked Dred.

"Come on, I'll drive. Just tell me where it is." Dred said to her

Dred didn't have the time to put on shoes even though the weather was very cold. He just took Alessia's coat and headed towards the car. Dred did nothing but just drive until they got to the hospital, keeping it calm.

The atmosphere inside the car was so gloomy, Alessia was just looking at the window silently crying, and Dred had nothing to do, wishing he knew he wouldn't go along and ignore her again and again until he got tired.

When they reached their destination, Alessia didn't think twice and opened the door, looking for the room while shuttering, "Dad!" Dred just went directly to the information desk to ask for Alessia's father's name, but the nurse said he was still in the emergency room, and then he rushed and met Alessia half way and held her shoulder to support her, to walk her towards where her dad was.

"I want you to calm down as much as you can, Alessia." Dred said to her.

But she was just looking at the doors, hoping for a familiar name she could read. Dred went straight to the emergency room, and the frail Alessia ran towards her mother, while Dred calmly walked and sat on the edge of the chair.

"Mom, what happened?" Alessia asked, crying.

"I don't know, your father just collapsed," her mom said.

And Alessia hugged her and eventually told her to rest and assisted her first in the VIP room that Dred had already reserved.

"Thank you," Alessia said to Dred.

And after she had taken her mother to the VIP room, Dred was left on a chair near the emergency room, and Alessia noticed him with his eyes closed. As she looked at Dred, it felt like summer and someone was simply relaxing after a long day at work, and she began to feel sorry for him.

Alessia decided to take a seat beside him, and she was just appreciating how gorgeous this man was, but her gaze suddenly shifted to Dred's feet, and she was heartbroken. He kept on telling her to stay away from him, but his actions were contrary to what he was saying. She saw that Dred wasn't wearing shoes but was wearing his slippers that he used inside their condo.

"How long have you been staring at me? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take a nap. " Dred said to her

And Alessia was just looking at him, figuring him out, asking herself over and over again what happened that their current situation was draining.

"It's okay, I think you should go home and take some rest." Alessia said

But Dred just held her hand while closing his eyes, and Alessia felt a sting in her chest for some inexplicable reason.

Alessia took her hand back, making Dred open his eyes out of confusion just to look at his wife seated beside him.

"You're making me confused. Please stop."

Alessia just kept her hands to herself, and she knew that they were already in the middle of breaking up, and she believed that she was just fooling herself. Even though in every situation they got a chance to speak to each other, she realized that they were nowhere near fixing what was still there.

"I was just trying to comfort you, and I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable."

"I'll just head home."

Dred said as he scratched his nape and was feeling embarrassed, but he understood why she was acting like that because it's all his fault too.

Alessia just saw Dred stand up and did nothing, but she decided to take a risk on what she wanted to do. Alesia stopped him as she decided to hold his hand and lean her head towards it as if she was praying.

"You can stay if you forget what happened."

"And be back to what we were then."

Alessia said, almost crying.

"H-happy and through the problem, we're still happy."

Dred was about to answer her, but Dred acted as if he didn't care but was caught off guard when the door of the emergency room suddenly opened, and Alessia broke down again, as if her energy vanished and didn't noticed.

"How's Raener Williams?"

"I'm sorry to say this, but Mr. Raener is currently in the state of..."

Emelda heard everything, and Alessia was shocked to see her mother crying for no apparent reason. Alessia tried to stand up, but everything in her vision was blurry and in slow motion.

"W-what's the current situation of my Dad's doc?" She asked, though she could barely stand, and Dred supported her.

"Stroke." The doctor said loud and clear
