Chapter 26: Chapter 26

"It's your fault!" I blamed him.
"You'll receive the whole hundred shares if you carry my heir," he reminded me of our previous agreement.
It's always contracts and agreements. It's becoming tiresome.
"You can keep your shares! I don't want them anymore!" I lashed out, "I hate you!" I said loudly while throwing pillows and blankets around.
"I hate you!" I raised my voice even louder.
Suddenly, tears started flowing.
Maybe he planned all of this.
He suddenly got angry.
"Why did you fucking hate me so much, huh?! What the fuck did I do for you to hate me?!" He angrily questioned me, and I felt scared of his intense cursing and clenched fists. His jaw was tight, and his eyes had a sharp gaze.
"We're always fighting because of you! I did everything for you, and you still hate me! What else do you want me to do, huh!" He shouted loudly at me, and I could see pain in his eyes.
I pressed myself against the headboard, scared of him.
His words made me cry even more.
"Fuck! Damn it!" He cursed sharply and stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut.
I couldn't help but sob. He was the cause of our fights, not me!
He let Camille flirt with him, and he flirts with one of his investors. I caught them in his office before we got married. Maybe he and his secretary are flirting too.

"How's the task that I gave you?" Lanvin asked his friend, Noah, in a cold tone.
"He's dead! We buried him six feet under. No one will ever find that person; the grave was dug deep," Noah replied seriously.
"There's one more problem," Noah added and handed Lanvin a stolen picture of someone.
"Keep an eye on him in case he gets close to your wife," Noah warned him.
Lanvin looked at the picture.
"Who's this man?" Lanvin asked in a cold tone.
"He's Russ's brother, the one you killed. If he gets close to your wife and finds out everything, you're as good as dead. He's stalking your wife, it seems like he's waiting for the right moment to approach Azaria," Noah explained.
They were the only two inside Noah's house.
Noah was Lanvin's confidante in all matters, and he knew everything Lanvin did. Lanvin trusted his friend implicitly.
"Kill him and bury his dead body," Lanvin ordered without emotion, "and also, take away the Engineer's license in my wife's shop."
"You're so jealous," Noah teased him with a smile.
"You know, you should have just assigned this to Kier. He has plenty of men and is an expert in killing. He's got so many illegal businesses, that idiot's getting even richer!" Noah remarked.
Lanvin rolled his eyes, "His service is fucking expensive, and guess what, he's a friend of Conrad," Lanvin shared the news.
"We're in trouble then! That guy is cunning," Noah shook his head while grabbing some alcohol. Conrad was the cunning person he was referring to.
"I'll be going to the twins' law firm later; I need to have some documents checked. I bought a lot. Do you want to come along?" Noah invited Lanvin.

Several hours have passed, and Lanvin still hasn't come home; it's getting close to evening.
He has abandoned me. He doesn't care about me anymore.
He said he loves me, but it's not true. He's a liar!
He doesn't love me; he's just fooling me.
"Ma'am, you're not allowed to enter!" I hear Xyla saying from outside the door.
"I don't care! Move aside!" I snap back at her.
Heidi?
Suddenly, the door opens, and Heidi enters, her hair braided.
"Heidi!" I say her name happily. I feel a glimmer of hope.
"You're not allowed to come in here!" Heidi scowls at Xyla as she steps inside, trying to stop her.
If you're asking about Xyla's appearance, she's a teenager with a slim figure and curly hair. She has a sweet face, fair skin, and is on the short side. Our guard at the back of the house has a crush on her.
"Heidi, get me out of here," I plead to her.
"Get me out of here," I beg again.
"Huh? Wait, is Kuya Lanvin locking you up?" She asks in surprise.
I nod in response.
"Oh! You deserve that!" she says.
I slap her for what she said.
"Just kidding," she laughs.
"That's why they wouldn't let me in. Where's your handsome husband?"
"Get me out of here until he comes back. He's been gone for hours."
Because I'm eager to get out, I didn't ask her why she's here and how she found the house. She probably used a tracking device on me again.
Heidi helped me escape, and I don't know how she managed to get me out.
I went home to the mansion to confront my grandfather.
"Where is grandpa?!" I angrily ask the housekeeper I saw.
"He's resting, ma'am," she answers, bowing her head.
Everyone in this mansion knows my temperament, except Lanvin. I went to find him in the garden where he usually rests.
"Grandfather!" I call out angrily. I'm seething with anger.
"I don't want this marriage! I'm backing out! Take the shares, I don't want them anymore! I hate your adopted son!" I confront him head-on.
I feel like I'm going crazy.
"What are you talking about? Calm down," he calmly says.
"Ma'am, your grandfather shouldn't get stressed," his nurse tells me meekly. She bows her head in embarrassment after I snapped at her.
"You stay quiet!" I retort with a snarky remark. She just lowers her head further, feeling embarrassed.
"Did you have a fight with your husband, my child?" My grandfather asks with a smile.
"It's normal for couples to argue. You can't keep running here every time you fight. I'll talk to Lanvin."
"I don't want this anymore! I don't want this marriage! He doesn't treat me like a wife! He locks me up! He won't let me leave! He is a demon, and I fucking hate him!" I stomp my foot in frustration.
"Sign the papers and agree to marry him," he says calmly.
"You can't take back your decision!" He said with anger.
"For heaven's sake! He's your favorite grandchild, isn't he? You should have been the one to marry him!" I don't know what I'm saying.
They all irritate me.
"Ma'am -"
"Shut up!" I snap at the nurse.
"What are you saying, young lady?! Why do you want to separate? You have a good life! You don't want a stable life!" My grandfather angrily retorts.
Who wants to experience being locked up?!
"A good life?! Are you serious? You put me in a living hell! You could have helped me without any conditions! If you really wanted to help me, you wouldn't ask for anything in return!" I yell at him in anger.
"I don't want this anymore! I want to break free from this cursed marriage!" I added.
My grandfather clutches his chest.
He looks weak and pale. His nurse is anxious and gives him a nebulizer to help him breathe.
"Call for help!" The nurse orders me.
What's happening?
My grandfather is clutching his chest and seems to be having trouble breathing, unable to speak.
I'm frozen in my position while the nurse tends to him, checking his pulse and providing first aid.
"It's your fault!" Camille blames me and is about to attack me when Nik's angry voice intervenes.
"Try to lay your finger on my wife's hair, I'll fucking cut your arm," Nik threatens her, his eyes full of anger.
He's been protecting me all this time.
My grandfather is gone, he died because of the heart attack he had while I was arguing with him.
I'm crying uncontrollably, and Lanvin is holding me, trying to calm me down.
"It's really her fault! If she hadn't confronted and yelled at my grandfather, this wouldn't have happened! She acts like she's someone important!" Camille angrily insists.
"Stop blaming my wife! That's not her fucking fault!" Nik fiercely defends me, his chest heaving from shouting.
Nik is standing up for me, and everyone else is mad at me. Lola has locked herself in their room.
I regret what I did, but it's not my fault.
It's not my fault that my grandfather passed away, and he was already old.
"Why are you taking her side, huh?" Camille demands.
"I said, shut the fuck up!" Nik roared, and I was scared by his shouting, so I tightened my embrace around him.
"Blame it more on my wife, and I'll turn the agency you're working with upside down," Nik angrily threatened Camille.
Camille didn't respond anymore, and I could hear the sound of her heels fading away.
"Shh, stop crying. It's not your fault, okay?" He lifted my chin and made me face him. My face was soaked with tears.
He looked like he was hurting seeing me cry.
I was trembling from crying.
I shouldn't have done that; I should have just listened to my husband. Maybe it would have been better if I stayed inside the room and didn't make any mistakes.
"Please, stop crying," he pleaded with me while continuing to wipe away my tears.
"I-I wish I didn't shout at him," I sobbed and sniffed. I felt so regretful, and everyone was angry at me.
"N-No, it's not your fault. You did nothing wrong," he said calmly.
"H-He died because of me. He had a heart attack because of m-me," I struggled to speak through my tears.
"Shhh, don't blame yourself. Stop crying. It was his time; it's not your fault," he repeated.
I buried my face in his chest again and hugged him tightly.
"I'm s-sorry," I apologized to him.
It's just the two of us here in the mansion's living room because the household staff is busy with the sudden passing of my grandfather.
"I'm s-such a bad person, rebellious, and I never do anything right," I cried and continued to bury my face in his chest. He let me wet his long sleeve with my tears. He was dressed in corporate attire.
As soon as he learned what happened, he immediately came to the mansion and looked for me first. We had an argument earlier, and now I'm crying in his arms, and he's comforting me.
I feel that he's the only one by my side, and he's my only ally. Because of his small actions, I regret everything I said and did to him.
If only I had listened and not been stubborn, none of this would have happened. It's all my fault. Everything that's happening in my life is my fault.
I disappointed everyone.
