Chapter 21: Chapter 21

<Azaria>

"Xyla, bring my laptop here," he coldly commanded the house helper over the phone while staring at me.

I couldn't read his expression.

"You're infuriating, Nikolai! Who are you to confine me here, huh?! We're only married on paper, and you have no right to stop me from having other men! I had plenty of flings before you came into my life! If you can't accept who I am, then just leave me! I won't adjust for you!" I angrily shouted, staring him down.

He clenched his fist.

"Shut up your filthy mouth while I'm still restraining myself," he said in a low voice. Was he threatening me?

I threw the lampshade at him again.

"Azaria!" he called my name with anger.

I'm annoyed with him.

He managed to dodge it this time, but my action caught him off guard.

The lampshade broke.

He closed his eyes and opened them immediately, trying to calm himself down.

He doesn't want me to leave the room? Fine! I won't give him any peace of mind.

I couldn't sleep, and Nick stayed in our room, but he eventually left. No matter how much I tried to provoke him earlier, he didn't pay attention to me.

Earlier, during his virtual meeting, I tried to get his attention from behind. I know that his meeting partners saw me.

Three hours have passed, and he still hasn't returned.

The windows are locked, and the number of guards has increased. Xyla is also outside, keeping an eye on me.

"Xyla! Open this door! I forgot my iPhone!" I banged on the door.

"I'll get it for you, ma'am," she politely replied.

"Just open the door because my iPhone is missing! I can't find it!" I shouted in frustration.

"Maybe sir took it," she suggested.

"Just open it, please. Xyla, I'll just look for my iPhone. I'm so damn bored here, and I have nothing to entertain myself with. I need my iPhone," I pleaded with her.

"I was holding it earlier," I added.

"I'll look for it then, ma'am," she suggested. I closed my eyes tightly due to my irritation.

"Xyla, please? I'm not going to escape. I'll just search for my iPhone!" I couldn't help but raise my voice. Damn it! My patience is running out because of this maid's stupidity.

"Ma'am, you can't go out. Let me look for your iPhone," she said, and then I heard the sound of her footsteps.

I hit the door in frustration.

"Ouchy!" I reacted as I hurt myself with what I did.

These household helpers are so irritating! Grr! They all get on my nerves.

I leaned against the door and stared sadly into space. Nick also brought his laptop. I'm going crazy inside here.

The door opened forcefully, and I fell to the floor.

"Fuck! Wife!" Nick called out in shock when he saw me with my face on the floor.

He helped me up, "Don't you know how to knock, huh-" I stopped screaming when I noticed a large bouquet and many paper bags on the floor. I was stunned.

"Happy 3rd monthsary, wife," Nick cheerfully greeted me and handed me a large bouquet of money. I couldn't pretend anymore and took it. I couldn't hide my big smile.

I counted the money, and there's so much of it! I haven't even counted it all yet.

"Do you like it?" he asked with a smile.

I glared at him, but I still couldn't hide my joy.

"Here, I bought you clothes. Let's have a dinner date later," he said, handing me the paper bags, "to celebrate our 3rd wedding monthsary," he added.

So, he went out earlier to buy these things?

"My baby Versace! Tom Ford! Fendi!" I said with excitement as I saw the paper bags he handed to me.

"We weren't able to celebrate our 1st wedding monthsary," he said.

"Now, I'll make it up to you," he said with a slight smile.

"Tsk! I'm still mad at you!" I retorted, turning my back on him, but my eyes widened when I saw a black card.

I looked at Nick, who was also smiling at me.

"Is this for me?" I asked.

He nodded.

"You can use my black card to buy everything you want. You'll also receive forty million pesos allowance every month. And a ticket every week if you want to travel, and of course, I'll be with you. And a new car every year."

Are these the benefits of being Nick's wife? Well, I deserve all of this anyway.

"Really? Is this for real?" I made sure to confirm with him.

"I'm true to my words," he said seriously.

I was so happy that I jumped and hugged him tightly.

He hugged me back tightly.

"I love you, wife," he whispered.

I stilled.

It seems Nick has feelings for me? How did he even fall in love with me? I'm not the type to easily fall for someone.

"Lanvin!"

I let go of Nick when I heard a girl's voice.

"Lanvin! Where are you?!" A young girl entered our room.

She was wearing a dress, carrying a Barbie bag, and had white boots on, with her hair in a ponytail.

Who is this little girl? She looks about Lucy's age, but she's taller than my sister.

"Lanvin, why didn't you come into the house yesterday?!" She scolded Lanvin with a pout on her face, speaking like an adult.

"Baby," Lanvin called her lovingly and carried her even though she was already quite big. She seemed to be around seven years old.

Does Lanvin have a child?!

She looks so much like him!

"Sir, she asked for a ride home," the woman accompanying the child explained. She had a nanny with her.

Nick dismissed the house helper who was with his child.

"I hate you! You didn't visit me yesterday!" the child said, pouting and pushing Nick on his chest.

She looks so much like him.

"I'm sorry, baby. I'll make it up to you today. What do you want, huh? Do you want to go to Santorini?" Nick tried to appease the child.

Damn it! He has a child with another woman! I clenched my fists.

I just stared, watching the father and daughter interact.

The child insisted on being put down.

"No! I'm mad at you! You broke your promise for the first time!" the child snapped at Nick and then pointed at me, "Is she the reason, huh?!"

Oh, I'll deal with this kid. She has no right to shout at me and point her finger.

"Quaintrelle Eleanor Maeve, I don't like your attitude," Nick threatened her.

Her name is so long.

"Who is she? Is she your wife?!" the child angrily asked him.

"Since you married her, you neglected me!" the child said, almost in tears.

"Dawn, we already talked about it, right? Don't be mad at brother," Nick tried to soothe her. He changes his mood so quickly; a moment ago, he was angry, and now he's trying to comfort the child.

"I don't like her!" the child shouted and gave me a disapproving look.

"I don't like you too!" I shouted back at her, and we glared at each other.

"Dawn, wife, stop it," Nick tried to restrain us.

"Let's go downstairs, Dawn."

He held the child's hand.

"Let's go downstairs, wife," Nick invited me, and they both left the room, with me following behind them.

They don't look like siblings at all.

"I'll sleep here," the child insisted.

"You can't sleep here, baby."

"Why can't I? I want to sleep here!"

She seems even more spoiled than me.

"I'll buy you a ticket to the country you want to visit."

At her age, she can already travel alone.

"I don't want to be with the my maid! She's annoying, and I don't like seeing her face!" she complained.

Ah, so she's accompanied by a nanny. Maybe I should apply as her nanny, just kidding! I'm lucky with my situation. I'm a trophy wife. Nick works hard and smart to provide for me.

When Nick looked at me, I gave him a fierce look.

"I heard from your maid that you're going to eat dinner outside. I'll go with you."

"Baby, it's night, and you should go home. Mom doesn't want you to go home late at night, and besides, you have school tomorrow. There's no reason for you to sleep here," Nick explained to the child.

That's right, Nick, don't let that child sleep here. I don't like her, and she might take all your attention.

"I want to go to Sweden with you," the child insisted.

We stopped in the living room, and they both sat down. Nick pulled me to sit beside him, and the child gave me a disapproving look. She saw that we were sitting so close together, so she hugged my husband tightly.

Nick gently pried her arms away, "Dawn, you can't go to Sweden with us. You have school, and it's not appropriate for you to travel alone."

Angering the child may not be the best idea. I should just focus on Nick and make sure he pays more attention to me than her. After all, I am his wife.
