Chapter 11: Chapter 11

I got a job running, and I don't know what occurred while I was sleeping, but I know I missed my alarm. I was about to get angry at somebody but then realized that I'm alone and not with someone, and I'm the one to blame for oversleeping and missing multiple alarms.

It's acceptable if my shift is at night. But, I also accepted a morning shift because I hired a nanny for Steve and I don't care if I'm late. I was waiting for that lady to come and I was trying to put a CCTV on for me to monitor everything. It was not for being paranoid because she might do something to him. It's a motherly love, okay?

The reason why I also took the morning shift is to escape the insane crazy people in the VIP Ward or that one person I always see. I made myself some breakfast and heard a knock on the door. Good thing I made one extra breakfast, then I went by the door.

"Jenny, oh you bought your friend?" I asked her

"Not yet, friend," she chuckles softly. "Here is the nanny you asked for. I didn't know her here, but she was here at like 6 a.m. and was shy to knock on your door. Good thing I was here so that she will not have trouble getting along with Steve. " Jenny said

"Oh, I'm so sorry, and it's nice to meet you. What's your name? " I asked.

"Justine Miss."

"Nice to meet you. Come on in already. Make yourself at home. I made breakfast."

Our brunch was filled with gossip and girly stuff, but I excused myself and went on to attend to myself. I waved Steve good bye and then saw myself going to work.

I entered the restaurant beside the bar and went directly to the locker room, hoping that no one would notice except for my biometric timer that actually knew what time I entered.

While I was going to the kitchen, I quickly tied my long hair and straightened my apron, got a tray, and took out my pad. I was ready to serve, but I know there aren't many people on the early shift, but it's just the same salary, so what could I ask for?

I went out, and I was astonished to see Cath, Christian's ex girlfriend, and I changed the route of my walking, but it didn't stop her from noticing me.

"Ms. Lennox, may I have a word?" She spoke it in a loud voice and with so much air that I had to flash a false smile before I confronted her.

"Yes ma'am Cath, of course."

I just followed her as she aided and directed everyone around her, showing them who’s the boss with a fitted t-shirt and jeans that looked good on her. Her hair was fixed in a half bun and it matched her small body.

I don't know, but Christian's management is way different. So many people don't want to work the night shift, and the only thing I'm really wanting here is the money and the fact that not many people dine here, except for a family or older people, which is a huge advantage.

"I'm delighted you accepted the morning shift because no one really enjoys it." What's your reason? " She asked me

"To support my financial difficulty."

"How nice," she replied, before lecturing me on what I needed.

"Learn how to talk appropriately, especially when taking orders. From what I've heard, you're the most patient of all the employees here that we've had for a long time. Patience and how to deal with thuggish consumers." While walking, she remarked something along the lines of

"Don't take a tip from the customers, don't talk if they are searching for food that isn't on the menu, present a nice service and keep yourself courteous." I didn't have an issue with everything she said, except that I really don't like the rich people that dine here.

"Oh, and," she continued and looked at her wrist watch, "At 11:00 sharp, meet me at my office. It's already 10:30. So, see you there. " She said and waved at me using only 3 fingers in motion. She's not that immature but we don't see each other as friends, but I'll wait for it to happen. She's a confident girl and I like it.

I was looking at her while walking, then I was stunned and someone came towards me just to bump onto me and say

"It looks like there is a new favorite in the house," Roe said, as I chuckled and she put her arm around me. She's kind of bixesual, but I don't mind. She's been my friend when I was new here and I was wondering where she was, yet she took the day shift.

"You brought Steve here; it's a pity I wasn't here yesterday." She added, and I shook my head.

And I remember again what occurred then and how many days I've been through simply to get rid of the thought in my head that they look just like Steve and that guy.

"Did Mr. Liam actually play with him? On a floating pineapple" she questioned, although I wanted to deny who she was referring to.

"Some say you look like a family, but I assume he had a girlfriend he always had with him, so if I was with you, I might clear that understanding to protect you. They even said it was the first time that guy smiled. " She added, "See you later and take it easy. There aren't many people here just enjoying ourselves," she said, and she winked at me.

My heart was trembling hearing his name, and I can't be this smitten over him, but I don't want to continue because this is not appropriate, even those thoughts of mine that we are doing something inappropriate. Then I always face palm whenever I think about it.

I turned to bump myself into the rock-hard body and was thrown and sat down and held my butt because of the impact.

"I'm sorry." I just muttered something while closing my eyes and regulating the shaking in my vision.

"You have a bad habit of not looking in your direction, Lily," he said and offered a hand, but I didn't accept it and stood alone.

"I'm sorry, Sir." I bowed my head and didn't pay attention to him anymore. I didn't have the intention of bumping myself onto him, but my heart skipped a bit when I saw him smirk for not getting his offered hand to assist me stand up.

I don't know and I know it's rude, but I went into the kitchen and left that man standing alone.

"Oh, now your face is red." Roe said.

I know, so I went in and approached the faucet to rinse my face. It's making me nervous. It's good that I didn't stuff my face with any make-up, or else I could look like a disaster right now. I took a paper towel. Then I wiped my wet face and looked at the clock that was placed above the kitchen door. I still have a few minutes before going to Miss Cath's office. I can finally breath after a long break and waiting. They are right that you won't feel tired on the day shift. A waiter or waitress will only move to serve food to customers who dine here.

I decided to travel to Miss Cath's office, but she was not there, and I passed by the VIP Ward and noticed her through the circle glass placed on the door, and she seemed to be talking to someone, so I knocked, waited for a bit, and entered the door. I didn't fix my eyes on who was with her and focused my vision on her.

"Oh, you're finally here. Meet Mr. Liam Dawson. He wants your company today. " She murmured, and my heart burst into bits.

I was really avoiding him, yet destiny naturally drags him to me, and it's not even right. I despise everything that has happened in my life, except for Steve. Ugh!
