Chapter 48: Chapter 48
Tori nodded and patted my hair, “I’ll find you a man. Let’s make Harry and that bitch sister of yours regret that.”
And it didn’t take long for Tori to let me enter my so-called “hoe and bad bitch phase” as she would like to call it. The night came and she was busy preparing me for the party.
I felt not in the mood to talk to anyone at this moment but due to Tori’s effort of letting me out of my comfort zone, I was slowly being pulled to her plan.
“You know I prepared everything for you, I would be sad if you won’t feel happy tonight.”
That were Tori’s words as she had constantly made sure to make me feel guilty.
“Yeah yeah, let’s just get this over with.” I rolled my eyes at her as she grabbed a sexy red dress that hugged my curves.
“This...will be the death of the men. Tonight. I am sure you will capture anyone there, best friend…” she winked at me, “and if you lured the handsome men, make sure to give one for me, alright?”
I chuckled at her silliness and had our mini girl's day full of prepping. We had our nails done, our makeup is done, and even our hair.
“Cut it shorter, and make sure I won’t be recognizable.” I requested the salon worker and she looked at my hair hesitantly.
“But ma'am, this auburn hair is what every client of mine has wanted. It would be a waste to “
“Dye it,” I said without no hesitation, cutting her off before I could hear it. She sighed, wanting to talk me out of it but I had already
Tori was sipping on her caramel macchiato drink as she wiggled her eyebrows playfully, “Oh….you know what they say. Once you go blonde, you’ll never go back. You hurt a woman and once she changes her hair, she’ll never return to you.”
I shrugged, “I made up my mind, I am done being the timid Saphira they know.”
Tori clapped her hands at me, “Yes! That’s the spirit girlie! Make them regret messing with you.” I am thankful for how supportive Tori is but I feel embarrassed as some people were staring at us weirdly now, wondering what was going on with our noise.
We just apologized to them and continued giggling to ourselves, and I am happy that Tori is here to comfort me because if she hadn't, I might have considered running away, disappearing, and never coming back.
Tori is the only one pulling me back to my senses which I am thankful for.
We were there for five hours and as soon as the night turned dark, we ate dinner and went straight to a bar.
I had gone to these kinds of places once because of Harry…oh gosh, why am I thinking of that bastard again?
But bars and clubs are the last things I want to enter right now. But as soon as we had entered, Tori pulled me to the counter and ordered me a drink. She wanted to instantly go for some tequila and hard drinks but since it was still early in the night, I chose to have some mojito.
Everyone looks alive and refreshed and enjoying the night as they danced. I could feel that they are here to vibe and socialize as a strong upbeat dropped by the DJ by the corner of the booth.
The lights were off and only the neon lights were lightening up the room, which is not good for my astigmatism as I felt my head aching from the flashing neon lights. The air was not that fresh now even though its early and I could smell the stinky smell from some people.
“We should have gotten the VIP booth,” I yelled to Tori who couldn't hear me due to the music.
“What?” She asked and I yelled again. When she understood me, she shook her head.
“Awe, but it’s full of boring people there.” She responded to me.
The bar didn't take long to get full because by the time it reached 11 p.m., slowly, people were piling up. We were by the side as Tori was dancing crazily and pulling me to the center.
“Come on, let’s go there!! It would be fun!” She was forcing me, slurping up a bit. I was bumping into a few sweaty bodies and couldn't help but wince in disgust. Also, don’t forget to mention the smell of some people…
Just then, the music stopped and there were five men dressed in suits entering, surrounding a man. I couldn't see the face of the man due to people towering over me but I could tell that he was famous due to everyone stopping and staring at him.
“Yeah! Everyone, are you enjoying?” Asked the DJ, hyping up the crowd as another upbeat dropped.
“Let me present to you, our main character here!” The DJ yelled and the whole crowd yelled in excitement. I furrowed my eyebrows, grabbing Tori to ask,
“Who’s that?” I looked at the man with five bodyguards as he smirked at the whole crowd. Now that I could see him, he looks a bit…handsome.
I could tell that the girls were interested in him as they were ogling their eyes at him.
Tori looked so drunk now as she tripped, “Oh, you don’t know him?”
“No.”
“He’s famous….but I couldn’t remember his name, wait…” Tori was trying to remember it.
The handsome man raised his glass, “Bills on me. Order anything you want, let’s get wild.”
I scoffed, not liking his vibe. He’s handsome but something tells me he’s full of himself.
“I don’t like him.” I said to Tori, “Let’s leave.” I could tell that hypnotized the whole crowd as his whole charm oozes through the room. It’s like he controls the whole crowd, everyone stopping just to stare at him as he passes by.
I was about to walk away when Tori pulled me to the side, “Wait, that man has been eying up to you for a while now.”
I frowned, trailing to where Tori was looking, and glanced at the man from the nearby table.
The man smiled at us as soon as he saw me looking and I glanced back at Tori, not used to this.
I only have one boyfriend my whole life and this is a first for me. I am aware that I sometimes would get some men’s attention but Harry was there to drive them away.
“It’s your chance….want me to talk to him for you?”
I shook my head at Tori’s offer, “No, let him come if he wants to.”
The man sensed my message as he walked to me and smiled, “Hey, beautiful.”
I smiled politely, “Hey.” I took a second to judge him, he’s decent looking but I felt that this is just another playboy.
“So, what’s your name? I saw you from there and couldn't help but take my eyes off of you.”
“Oh, we notice it too,” Tori said and I pinched her.
I gave a signal to Tori for us to leave, but Tori was ignoring me, pretending she was not even there.
I breathed deeply, keeping it in. Oh, dear, she’s gonna regret this…
“So, I was wondering if we could get to know each other? Are you up for some drinks?”
“Oh, I’m just here for some good time…” I replied instead, wanting to reject, “My friend here needs…”
“Who?” The guy asked, “I think your friend just left.”
I suddenly stopped when Tori was immediately gone to my side. I looked around to check where she had vanished to.
I tried to laugh it off, pretending I was calm but deep inside I am panicking. I am not for crowds, I am not for bars, and I am not for meeting new people. Why did I even let Tori take me here again? I should have just said no! I knew things like this were going to happen!
I’m gonna kill that best friend of mine. Tori!
