Chapter 79: Chapter 79

“Divorce?” Mitch murmurs, not like she is surprised at all. Her reaction is confusing, though. Its something I can't wrap my finger around.

Liam’s parents walk to our side. We form a straight line in front of our foes. The already defeated foes

“Yes, Mitch! You lost, and that too, to this loser! I made you my slave, and that is something that you did not succeed in making me all your life. And now, you are losing your husband to me. I will save you the torture of asking how and tell you straight to your face that our love never died, and neither could that stupid agreement hinder us from loving each other.” I State.

“And you have the guts to admit to us that you and Liam have been fooling around all along?” Her mother speaks on her behalf when the bitch’s mouth runs dry.

She has nothing to say. Well, this is new. So new. Is this her new way of attacking and retaliating? So boring.

“Oh, yes. We even gave your daughter a chance to capture all the evidence of our romantic affair. But like the useless brat that she is, she just cannot do anything right. Nothing. She failed to capture the target when it was in clear sight. She is just useless.” I fire.

They both throw questioning glances at Mitch, whose eyes are drilling the floor. She knows that she is such a filthy person and is probably ashamed of herself.

“You people are so stupid! You think we didn’t enter this room so blindly? No Liam. The minute we terminate this deal, you all will be left with nothing. You will end up in the streets. We are wise people. We don’t make deals with just a single sense.” Mr. Edwards speaks, mocking himself. only that he does not know that he is mocking himself.

“But we happened to be wiser than you, Mr. Edwards! Believe me, we stand to gain more than you can imagine with the termination of this contract.” Liam explains.

Mr. Edwards smirks. I know what he is thinking. He is right, and we don’t know what we are doing. Brace yourself, old fool! I doubt you will be able to stand the stroke that is coming to hit you! “Let me refresh your stupid memory, boy, because I know love messed up your fucking brain when you signed that contract. You signed your soul into this deal. You and your family are nothing without the Edwards, because everything will go to us the minute we call this quit! Next time, learn not to sign deals out of desperation. You might sell yourselves to the devil without knowing.” He says.

Ooh, can I smirk at the stupidity and oblivion of this man? He is so confident in his delusions. Stupid old man.

“And next time, don’t make the mistake of underestimating people or trying to trick people with such cheap tricks, old man. I agree; I didn’t read that damn contract at that moment. I signed it blindly and with anger. But I was too wise to remain complacent, especially with the suspicious behavior your daughter was portraying. So I went back to the contract and re-read each and every single clause. You must be hanging your loose hopes on that stupid clause on page 17, right?” Liam speaks calmly, scanning their faces to capture every reaction as their jaws drop to the floor with shock. They look like they are beginning to sense some defeat.

“You…yes! And you know what it means.” Mr. Edward speaks with a forced calmness and bravery.

“Exactly. That is why I went the extra mile and got myself another woman. And because you are all not blind, I presume that you can see that my beautiful fiancee is very pregnant for me. So, I have an heir or heiress.” Liam states, caressing my belly as if to mock them.

They still have not recovered from the shock, but Mr. Edward is acting strong. The old man must be trying as much as possible not to entertain any thought of them getting screwed.

“A child from surrogacy I don’t even know why my daughter had to agree to the absurdity of having a child with you, even through this. All the same, the child still carries our daughter’s genes, and since it is an infant, it will stay with our daughter. So everything that was entitled to your wife according to the deal, and everything that great heir of the Adams’ empire was entitled to, plus your shares in your companies as its father, all will go to my daughter.” Mr. Edwards explains.

What a pathetic, well-calculated plan! Now this tears their hearts into a million tiny pieces. They will be torn in a way that they will never recover.

“What? But, Dad, I am not ready to be a father yet. I don’t want to deal with any kid and"

“Shut up, Mitchell! This will be the price for your stupidity. You could not pull off a simple deal. You failed, so face the consequences because I have invested so much in this to agree to lose. After this baby is born, you will be the one to take care of it, whether you are married to this man or not.” Her father orders What a father! Oh, what a father she has! She seems like just a deal to earn them more deals, not their precious daughter. Poor bitch!

“Please, Dad. Don’t do this to me, I beg you.” Mitch pleads, tears welling in her eyes. I told you she has become a crying baby of late.

Her father was about to give her a piece of his mind again, but I stopped him as I brought in the intro of their most unforeseen shock. “Ooh, I wouldn’t have wished to make anything easy for you in this world, Mitch, but I did on this one. You don’t need to beg this man because there is no baby for you to take care of here. There was no way on earth I could have allowed my child to carry the genes from such a wicked family.” I slapped them.

“Meaning?” They all chorused together in utter dismay. Even Mitch seemed completely shocked for the very first time today.

“That is because Lynn and I conceived in the natural way.” Liam does me the honor of bearing down their downfall.

“You had sex behind my back?” Mitch asks. Her face is an authentic criterion of shock. It is full of deep furrows.

“Yes. A week before I came into this house. You remember that week Liam disappeared and then he returned with me? Well, we had a full week of sex and pleasure. Even before I agreed to help him bring you all down, we had already rekindled our love. And it didn’t just end there, Mitch. Our love has been alive since that encounter, and we have enjoyed every single benefit of it. This child only has mine and Liam’s genes. That is a relief, right?” I challenge, and she slams to the couch with defeat, while her parents sample shock and disbelief. They must be seeing darkness, and their voices must have abandoned them for a long moment that fills this house with screaming lulls.

“No. You must be making all this up just to save your ass. I am not so stupid to believe this.” Mr. Edward speaks after recovering from the shock a little.

“Doc? Please help me in clearing this old man’s doubts.” Liam says.

The doctor hands the man the results, which show that the surrogate was just a fake to cover up our secret. Mr. Edwards's face is growing bigger and gloomy as his eyes rummage through the documents. “As it is clearly shown right there, sir, we did not conduct any procedure on Miss Lynda, which means that the pregnancy was as a result of intimacy.” The doctor explains.

The papers drop from the man’s hands as he charges Mr. Adams. “How dare you, Mr. Adams? How dare you pull a fast one on me? We saved your company when you...

“Mr. Edwards!” Liam howls, cutting the man off. “It is not time for reminiscing or blaming my parents for anything. I plotted your downfall without even their knowledge, so don’t point fingers at them. If you want to blame anyone, if you want to let out your frustrations about your defeat on someone, then do it on me, but be very careful. My plan is to ruin you and stop you from scamming anybody else, but I won't hesitate to send you to hell, where you belong, if you provoke me.” Lima says.

What a loving and caring son! His parents are the reason why his life has been hell for two good years. They had brought this upon themselves. But aside from coming to their rescue when they did not even know they were in danger, he is defending them from the same people they sold him to. What a man! For my unborn sons, please take note wherever you are. I want you to take care of this great man.

“When a lion is roaring, it means something is about to get hurt. Run as soon as you can and as fast as you can, boy, for when I catch you, you will curse that day you thought of messing with me.” Mr. Edward warns, sounding like a real monster.

“The difference between a wise man and a stupid one is that a wise man never gives second chances to evil, while a stupid one thinks that even evil deserves a second chance. I am not giving it any chance. I have a lot more important things to do than play cat and dog with an old fool like you. Say goodbye to your freedom, Mr. Edward!” Liam fumes and starts clapping his hands while the old man and his family stand in awe.

In a flash, four armed police officers stride in with their guns in the air. “Mr. Edwards, you are under arrest for fraud against Mr. Adams and his family, Mr. Desmond, and others that you have scammed. Everything you say here will be used against you in a court of law.” The entire Edwards family gets surrounded, guns pointed at their heads. “Whom did you say we should not arrest, sir?” One officer asked.

Oh, one is not going to jail? I did not know that. Who is the lucky soul, and why?
