Chapter 59: Chapter 59
“Yeah? More than you, I am waiting for that time to come because I know there will never be such a day. Maybe in the afterlife! Your baseless accusations are driving you wildly insane! You are losing your mind, hoping for things that will never happen, Mitchell Edwards." I snap back.
“Well, well, well! Guess what, b.I.t.c.h? I am not all talk. When I said I would in one way or another unearth your dirty little secret, when I said I would finally find proof that you both have been fooling around behind my back, I meant it, and I walked my talk!” She squeals, darting her eyes between Liam and me.
A cold chill cuts through my bones, but I still manage to stay erect and bold.
Proof?
She has proof of our affair.
No, hell, way! God of heaven, I know I don’t often pray, but this time I am beseeching you. Let this bitch just be blubbering! Let it be that she is just messing with us.
“What now, bitch? Scared to your bones? Are you wetting your pants with the fear that I am about to expose you?” She asks.
I emit a small smirk, refusing to be threatened. This is not the time to be shaken. It does not matter what she has against us or whether she has nothing at all. We will fight her to the end. She should not capture anything close to fear. “Not at all, Mitch! But I am growing impatient. What are you ranting about? I am so sick and tired of your empty words." I state.
“Ranting, huh! Not really this time around. The cat has caught us with the snoopy rats.” She pulls out a small envelope from her pulse. She slams it in my face. “There! That is enough proof of your sickening infidelity, you fools!” She howls.
Damn! She looks like she really found some dirt on us!
I catch the envelope before it falls to the floor. After murmuring a short prayer to the heavens, I open it and deepen my hand inside. I pull out the first thing that my hand finds. It feels like a photo.
Damn! Did this witch install some cameras in this house? That is the only thing that can give her such proof.
I pull them out, and the very first thing that greets my eyes is our lips—Liam's lips and mine sealed in a permanent kiss. We look so lost in it, like everything had stood still while we relished the moment. His arms are cupping my face so perfectly, while mine are draping around his back. I love how we look.
The background is crystal clear—it is the spot that our feet are rooted in at the moment. Countless hands snatch the photos from my hands, but I don’t even jerk my face up to see who they are. But there are many. It is like everyone wants to have proof to judge and crucify us.
I should be sick and worried and trembling like a leaf in a hurricane with this new freaking proof. But I am not! I am actually smirking at this witch mentally. Seriously? This was all that freaking game was all about? This was her brilliant idea? This was the best idea she and those stupid friends of hers could come up with. Is this the best she could come up with? And here she calls herself wise. She is worse than an idiot and so irrational!
Now I get it. It all makes sense now that they had to force Liam to participate in that stupid game. And all her actions were just a show to fool us. I should have known! We should have known. We should have thought of something like this. Screw them!
Then again, this is still zero work. Wasted efforts! If she thinks she will have us crucified because of these mere pictures, she is so damn wrong!
“What now, Liam and Lynda? I warned you both that I would finally catch you in the act. Come on! Defend yourselves now. You have been making a complete fool out of me, but that ends right now!” Mitch screeches, as if she has won. Poor, pathetic, and delusional soul! She can only sniff victory, but she will never have it.
“To think that you had the guts to lie so boldly to my face, you..."
I had not heard that move from Liam’s mother, but Liam was on high alert, I guess. He caught his mother’s hand before she could make the mistake of slapping me. He forces it down. “How dare you?” She fumes at Liam, who is bleeding wrath on her.
“If you dare try to hurt Lynn again, you can forget that I am your son, Mrs. Adams!” Liam states, sounding dead serious.
“How dare you try to hurt your mother after your infidelity has been exposed, Liam? What is this?” His father scolds.
“And how dare she try to hurt the woman who is carrying the great heir of the Adams Empire all because of these stupid photos that mean nothing?” Liam howls, slamming the copy of the photo he was holding to the floor.
“Stupid photos? I think this proves that my daughter was right all along! How dare you, Liam? How could you cheat on my daughter? I hope you are ready for the consequences.” Mitch’s father speaks while his daughter shrugs her shoulders, having succeeded in her plan.
“Oooh, no! There will be nothing like consequences here, Mr. Edwards. Why don’t you ask your daughter to explain where and how she got this so-called fucking proof? After that, you all can judge us!"
Thank you, Liam!
Yeah, I cannot wait to see the look on their faces when they learn that this was all just the result of a stupid game in which we were forced to participate. And I can’t wait to see the look on this bitch’s face. Brace yourself for the embarrassment and loss, witch!
