Chapter 76: Chapter 76
Sierra pov.
He was a kind and unique man. I lay down on the bed, consumed by thoughts of his captivating eyes. Although he was undeniably attractive, I questioned why I found myself thinking of him. After all, I am already pregnant with William's child, and he is still my husband.
Restlessly, I toyed with my fingers, my mind preoccupied with thoughts of William and Henry. I couldn't help but wonder what they might be doing at this very moment, and if anyone was searching for me.
My hunger intensified to the point where I couldn't decide whether to leave the room and seek out the Alpha to express my dire need for sustenance.
He had assured me that I could stay here as long as necessary, but I was apprehensive. What if the truth about my identity reached him?
Just as I lay there contemplating how to appease my hunger, the sound of the door opening shattered my concentration. I immediately stood up and glanced upwards, only to find him approaching with a tray of food in his hands, moving towards my vicinity.
"I thought you might be hungry, so I decided to bring you some food myself. I am unsure of your preferences, but I hope this selection will suffice," he said.
I watched as he gently placed the tray closer to me. The sight brought immense joy, and without hesitation, I began to eat. The meal was delicious, and I felt a profound sense of happiness, knowing that I wouldn't starve.
"I presume you must have been famished, just as I anticipated," he commented.
I looked up at him and realized that he had been watching me all along.
Overwhelmed with embarrassment, I ceased eating and lowered my gaze, consumed by guilt.
"Sorry," I whispered softly.
His chuckle resonated through the room, and when I dared to glance back up, I noticed his unwavering gaze fixed upon me.
"I felt saddened when I accidentally hit you with my car and upon discovering your current situation, I felt genuine sorrow for you," he confessed.
His words struck a chord within me. I could sense his deep concern, but why? He hardly knew me, yet he dedicated his time and care to my well-being.
Observing him, I witnessed as he picked up the spoon from the tray and scooped a small portion of food, bringing it towards my mouth.
Fearful, I hesitated to open my mouth, but his smile reassured me.
"It's alright, just let me help," he assured.
I obediently parted my lips, and he began to feed me. However, my nervousness and apprehension hindered my ability to eat quickly.
After a few minutes, I finished eating, and as he reached for the tray, I gently grasped his hands, causing him to look down at me.
"Is there a problem?" he asked, and I simply continued to gaze at him.
"Could you stay with me for a little while longer?" I inquired, hoping he would say yes and not reject my request.
He sat down and moved closer to me, lifting his hands and placing them on my face.
"Do you need anything?"
I couldn't express to him how safe I felt in his presence, despite being a stranger in this pack.
"I would like to bathe and change; my clothes don't look too good," I whispered, shifting the topic from what I was originally going to say.
He stood up, and I looked at him, trying to discern if I had angered him in any way.
"Are you able to walk properly now?" he asked, and I simply nodded, refraining from speaking.
"Come on," he said with a smile, and I reciprocated the smile, rising to my feet and following behind him.
As we walked out of the room and passed through the hallway, I was amazed by the sheer size of the place.
Just then, a man approached him, and he handed the tray to him before turning to face me.
"How would you like to come with me to my castle? I'll arrange everything for you there, and you can do whatever you want and bathe as much as you like."
I nodded but kept my gaze lowered, remaining silent. He then took hold of my hands and drew me closer to him.
"Come, let me take you to my castle."
He led me along slowly, guiding me toward a waiting car. A man standing near the vehicle opened the door just as he reached it.
As we entered the car, he continued to hold my hands, causing a sense of discomfort to surge within me. Uncertain of whether I should withdraw my hands from his grasp, I found myself at a loss.
Soon after, the car's engine roared to life, and I directed my gaze out of the window, watching as the hospital gradually receded from my sight. The sight of its fading presence stirred a peculiar mix of emotions within me.
Curiosity piqued, he broke the silence with a question, "So, what are your plans once you give birth to your child?" Intrigued by his sudden inquiry, I turned to face him, my thoughts muddled.
"I don't know," I whispered, placing my hands protectively over my stomach. "I have always yearned to raise my child in an environment of peace. I simply do not want anything untoward to befall my baby."
His hands remained gently intertwined with mine, attempting to assuage my anxieties. As I raised my tear-filled eyes to meet his, his compassionate gaze seemed to convey understanding and empathy.
With his free hand, he tenderly wiped away my tears and brushed aside the errant strands of hair obstructing my vision. A gentle smile graced his lips, offering solace amidst the turmoil.
"Why don't I assist you in raising your child?" he proposed, his words leaving me astounded. "I would be delighted if you chose to reside with me in my castle."
His unexpected offer left me stunned. Could he genuinely lend a hand in nurturing my child? Overwhelmed with joy, I struggled to find the right words. The idea that he would willingly participate in raising my child seemed too good to be true. Without a second thought, I enveloped him in a heartfelt embrace and whispered, "Thank you."
In that moment, I remained tightly nestled in his embrace, cherishing the warmth of his presence and the profound impact of his selflessness.
