Chapter 68: Chapter 68
Alex pov.
I opened my eyes, a smile spreading across my face, taking in the sight of the room. My gaze shifted towards William, who was still peacefully sleeping, and I couldn't help but keep my eyes fixed on him.
After about a minute, he began to stir, prompting me to place my hands gently on his chest, waiting for him to open his eyes. "Morning," I greeted cheerfully.
I watched as his eyes fluttered open, and he turned to meet my gaze, quickly sitting up. "What are you doing here?" he asked, confusion evident on his face as he glanced between me and his shirtless body. "What happened?"
Approaching him, I rested my hands on his chest, maintaining a smile. "Don't you like what you saw? Last night was perfect. I cherished the wonderful moment we shared."
He pushed me away abruptly, rising to his feet in a rush, his expression turning to disgust as he hastily retrieved his clothes. "You're sick," he spat at me, walking out of the room. I lay back, gazing up at the ceiling, a smile still gracing my lips.
"You think you're clever, Alpha. Well, I'll show you. I'll become pregnant, and this time, no one will be able to take away my rightful place as the Luna of this pack."
Unable to contain my laughter, I relished in the victory. This was it, my plan in motion, and nothing could stand in my way.
I left the bed and made my way to the bathroom, catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror. The smile on my face grew wider. They believed they could deceive me, but this time, I would be the one controlling their every move. I would ensure they all fell into my trap, and as for that man, Henry, or whatever his name may be, I would make sure his life turned into a living hell.
After taking my bath, I stepped out of the bathroom, noticing that William had yet to enter the room. That realization only brought a bigger smile to my face, knowing he must be puzzled by everything that had transpired the previous night.
After changing into my attire, I opened the door, ready to leave. However, I found him standing there, a look of anger etched on his face. He grabbed my arm forcefully and slammed the door shut, pushing me down onto the bed, his eyes burning with fury.
"Start talking. What happened last night?"
I slowly stood up, my body trembling with every step as I made my way over to him. But every time I tried to touch him, he forcefully pushed my hands away, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and confusion.
"Why were you in my room last night, and how did I leave my office?" he demanded, his voice laced with frustration and suspicion.
A chuckle escaped my lips, as I met his gaze, contemplating how to respond. With a deliberate stride, I walked back over to the bed, crossing my legs as I fixed my unwavering stare upon him.
"Why do you worry so much? It's not a crime to be intimate with your Luna. Besides, I could give you another child since the first one is already gone," I stated calmly, the words rolling off my tongue with a hint of bitterness.
As soon as the words left my mouth, I noticed his fists clenching and his eyes narrowing, as if he were on the brink of unleashing his wrath upon me.
"Did you drug my food?" he questioned, his voice filled with accusation and disbelief.
A smile played at the corners of my lips, aware that he had uncovered the truth. However, that didn't mean I wouldn't continue to play my role to perfection.
"What are you talking about, Alpha? How could I possibly drug your food? You know very well that I'm incapable of such an act. You were the one who initiated everything last night, despite my pleas for you to stop. I warned you that you would regret it later, but you forced yourself upon me," I explained, my smile never faltering as I maintained eye contact with him. "Though, in a twisted way, I must admit, I enjoyed it."
Guilt washed over him, evident in his eyes as he crumbled to the floor, burying his face in his hands.
"What have I done?" he whispered, his voice filled with remorse and self-loathing.
I rose from my seat, walking towards him, and gently placed my hands on his shoulders, crouching down to his level.
"Why must you regret it, Alpha? You should be happy. I will bear your child, and we can both find happiness," I reassured him, my touch attempting to provide solace.
He gripped my hands tightly, his hold almost painful, but I resisted the urge to flinch.
"No matter what, you can never replace Sierra," he uttered, his voice filled with anguish.
He pushed me away, and I landed on the floor, watching him rise to his feet, his gaze fixed upon me.
"No matter what you do, Alex, I can never develop feelings for you. So, you better cease this charade and consider what's truly best for you before you come to regret it," he warned, his words cutting through the air like a sharp blade.
He walked out, and as I sat on the floor, looking at him with anger, I wondered if he really believed Sierra would still enter his life. Well, I suppose he might still be dreaming, but let's see if they can even locate her before they entertain the thought of bringing her back. And as for the child in her womb, I will ensure it faces the same fate as my deceased child.
With a smile on my face, I stood up and walked out of the room. I made my way back to my own chamber, donned my red robe, and stepped out into the castle grounds, venturing into the surrounding forest.
My face still bore a smile that discouraged any thoughts other than my intention to pay a visit.
This time, either William loves me or he loves no one else.
As I approached an abandoned house, a smile played upon my lips as I entered. Though the interior was eerie, I felt no fear, for I was intimately familiar with every color and space within.
Climbing the rickety, aged stairs, I continued my leisurely stroll, my mind fixated on a singular idea.
As I turned to face a door, a chuckle escaped my lips, for I could hear the faint hum emanating from within.
Opening the door, I switched on the ancient light, still flickering, and walked toward the source of the humming. I knelt down and gazed.
Gently, I removed the blindfold that covered her eyes, watching intently as she stared back at me.
"Hello, Sierra. Are you having a wonderful time?"
