Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Sierra pov.
"Run!" his loud voice kept saying, as I just ran out of the basement without looking back. My heart was pounding so fast, and I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins. The sight of him turning into a wild beast was enough to make me want to flee for my life.
I ran towards my room and shut the door, feeling scared as I could hear his loud growls coming from the basement. The smell of his beastly scent filled my nostrils, and I could hear the sound of his heavy breathing. The touch of the cold doorknob was a stark reminder of my vulnerability.
"What have I done?" I whispered to myself, regretful of not going home when he had asked me to. I closed my eyes, trying to see if I could transform into my wolf, but I could not. It was the Red Full Moon, and no omega could use their power until it was over.
I felt tears streaming down my face as I imagined how my life could end in just one night. The metaphorical darkness that surrounded me was suffocating.
Suddenly, I felt so cold all of a sudden, and I heard his heavy footsteps walking closer to my room. I wanted to scream for help, but I thought it was pointless, that it would only make it worse. I could see his silhouette through the crack in the door as he approached.
Soon, a heavy hit came knocking the door down, and I saw him standing there, his eyes staring at me as if I was prey waiting to be killed by him. "Beast," I called out his name, but he only walked slowly over to me with his claws ready to strike.
"Beast!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face and my heart pounding in my chest. I moved back against the wall, never taking my eyes off the creature.
Just as he lifted his claws to attack, something hit him from behind, and he turned to see what it was.
I watched in amazement as another creature, similar to him but in the form of a fox, appeared. I stared at the creature for what felt like minutes, almost forgetting about the beast in front of me.
After growling at the creature and watching it run away, the beast left me to chase after it. I stood up and followed them, fear pulsing through my veins. What if he killed that creature? I desperately tried to think of a way to bring him back to his senses.
His loud growls echoed through the air, getting louder by the second, as if they were about to reach the next village over.
Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me and turned to see the docile creature looking at me.
"Follow me," he said, running in the direction the other two had gone. I quickly followed, unsure of what was to come.
I stood there, looking confused and unjust, not knowing what to do or say. Just then, I heard the beast's loud, angry growl. The sound reverberated through the air, and I felt as if the ground was shaking beneath my feet.
Slowly, I turned around, and my eyes met the sight of the beast. He was just a bit too close to me, as if he was about to strike me to death. My heart raced as fear coursed through my veins.
"Run now!" I yelled to myself.
I turned around only to see the fox again. He ran back in the same direction from which we came. Without wasting a moment, I ran behind him.
The beast kept on pursuing us, destroying everything that blocked his way. I could not stop running, and tears streamed down my face. Just then, we came across a big open door, and the fox and I ran inside.
Before the beast could catch up to us, the door slammed shut. I breathed out heavily, relieved that we were safe. As I turned around, I realized that we were in the same place where the beast had brought me before - where all those creatures were.
I looked at the fox and thanked him for his help. We could still hear the loud banging of the beast trying to break through the door, but it wouldn't give up.
As I looked around at the other creatures, they all stared at me, as if waiting for a miracle to happen.
"Will he break through?" I asked the fox, hoping for a reassuring answer.
He looked at me with nothing but his eyes, a silent answer to my question.
"Don't worry, the door is built to keep him out. He cannot break it, so you don't need to worry," said the fox reassuringly. As he spoke, I felt a sense of relief wash over me and my racing heart slowly calmed down.
I turned to look at the door, taking in its sturdy build and feeling pity for the creature on the other side. I wondered how he must be feeling and why he had to go through so much. "Beast," I whispered, slowly walking over to the locked door and staring at it.
Suddenly, I noticed a crack forming on the door, and my gaze turned to one of horror as I moved back. "The door is going to break down!" I yelled, causing the other creatures to look scared. The fox ran over to me, seeing the fear in my eyes.
"He warned you this would happen. He asked you to go home, but instead, you decided to stay," the fox said, keeping his eyes fixed on me. "You have to run and escape through the window. If you stay, he might hurt you."
Seeing the crack on the door growing larger, I didn't waste any more time and ran over to the window. I turned around to face the fox, asking him if they were safe too. The fox smiled at me and replied, "Don't worry, he cannot harm us. We are all cursed."
Just as the door broke down, I saw the creature staring at me with a deadly look in his eyes, growling loudly. "Jump now," the fox said, looking at my scared face. Without hesitation, I leapt out of the wide window and landed on the ground, causing my leg to shift in a different position.
As I looked up, I saw the beast looking down on me, and without a second thought, I ran, despite the pain of my broken leg. "I think I just made the worst mistake of my life," I whispered, feeling a wave of regret wash over me.
