Chapter 16: Chapter 16
Kiara POV
I went to my brother's office when I heard his furious scream, so I quickly opened the door and saw that he was holding Beatrice by the arm and jaw. I immediately approached them and removed my brother's hands.
"Stop it, Storm! What are you doing? Why are you hurting her?" I ask.
"Get that girl out of here Kiara! I won't be able to control myself and forget she's a woman," Storm said emphatically so I quickly pulled Bea away.
we were outside, I let her go, it seems that she didn't expect what happened between her and my brother. "What happened Bea? Why was my brother angry?" I asked her.
"W-we were just talking about the paperwork, I didn't know he would be so angry." she weakly said.
"Storm wouldn't be so angry if it was just because of the papers Bea, tell me did you say anything to him?" I asked again.
"T-there is, I didn't mean it Kiara because I was just annoyed by what he was saying."
I frowned. "What did you say?" I ask.
"I said that maybe your parents didn't teach him good manners that's why he's like that and they won't be proud of him when they see his bad behavior, they might feel useless. I'm sorry Kia, I didn't mean to say that thing I just got carried away by my emotions," she told me.
I looked at her with disappointment. "You shouldn't have said that to him, Bea, especially when it's about our parents. You don't know how much it will affect my brother, you don't know us and you don't know anything about the life we have ." I promised weakly and walked back inside Storm's office.
I saw him sitting with his fists clenched, I know that he is mad now. I walked closer to him. "Brother," I called him.
"Not now Kiara, please." he almost hoarsely said.
I sat next to him and hugged him. I know he is in so much pain right now. I don't blame Bea because I know she doesn't know anything about this.
"Y-you don't need to suffer alone brother, I am here always for you," I started crying.
"I know I'm not a perfect person but they don't know what I've been through for the past years. T-they don't know what I feel,"
"I understand you Storm, I will always understand you," I said while rubbing his back. I hate seeing my brother cry.
"I can't accept what she said and I will never accept it!"
"I know, I know. She just didn't know about it, so please calm down," I said.
We stayed like this for almost an hour, maybe if someone saw us they wouldn't think that a Storm Kyzer Alcantara was crying. They see my brother as a brave person but they don't know what he is going through, If I could turn back those times I will beg God not to take our parents and if I will have a chance to have a wish I will ask him to take away the pain my brother is feeling right now, he deserves this pain.
Beatrice POV
I almost fell to my feet because of what Kiara said, I could see the pain and disappointment in her eyes when she heard what I said. I didn't mean to say that thing to Storm, I am not a bad person to disrespect or involve their parents and I still owe him a lot.
Since Kia went back inside, she didn't come out until lunch break. Even if I wanted to ask if I would buy a portion of food for them, I didn't because I was ashamed of what happened.
I just took my wallet and went downstairs to buy food because Nicole had been waiting for me. When I got to the food court, I saw my friend waving at me so I approached her, she already bought me food.
"Hey! You're pale. Are you not feeling well?" Nicole got my attention so I looked at her.
"I-I was just thinking about something, I'm sorry," I answered weakly.
"Did you fight with our boss again?" she asked.
"Even if we are always fighting I still respect the person who helped my mother live," I promise.
"Why are you thinking so deeply?"
"Because I said something to him earlier and I can see that he was very angry," I said.
She looked at me seriously. "What did you say?"
"We had a misunderstanding earlier about the meeting and documents and because I got irritated I involved their parents on the topic," I said.
I heard her fast breathing and when I looked up I saw the masculinity in her eyes. "A-are you serious Beatrice?" she almost couldn't believe it. I shyly nodded to her.
"You shouldn't have said that to him, Bea, no matter how much you hate him, it's not right to empathize with his parents. They are both successful in the field of business."
"I know and I'm ashamed of what I did. I didn't know that he would be angry and react that way," I said.
"Their parents, Mr. Thunder and Mrs. Jewel are not already here," Nicole said.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked.
"They're both gone, all I know is that Sir Storm was only 4 years old and Ms. Kiara was just a baby when they died. They died together in an accident. Their parents' best friends and their grandparents are the ones who support them and temporarily ran their properties. And when Sir Storm graduated, he immediately handled his father's company while Ms. Kiara handled her Mommy's boutique and cafe,"
I could hardly believe what I heard from my friend, I didn't know that their parents were gone.
"I-I don't know Nicole, I don't know anything," I exclaimed weakly.
"You should talk to Sir because you might lose your job,"
I nodded and continued to eat until I returned to my table, not forgetting what I had learned. Looks like I need to apologize to my boss.
