Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Beatrice POV
It's been three days since the last conversation I had with my boss and he is not going to the office. I thought he was sick but Kiara said that his brother needs to fix something important. That's why she's the one who is here in the Alcantara Company.
"Hi Bea," Kiara greeted me with a smile.
"Hello, Kiara. Do you need something?" I asked her.
"Nothing, I just came to visit you because you might miss my brother," she exclaimed laughing.
"And why would I miss your brother?" I said that makes her laugh even more, she often teases me like this about his brother.
"Easy, you're too hot-headed, you haven't even seen Storm for three days. Anyway, he's coming in now,"
"Of course, he will, he is the owner of this company," I said, stating the obvious.
"I'm just informing you," There is still a trace of teasing in her voice.
"You don't need to do that because I know he will, your brother loves your company too much," I said.
I saw her laugh. "Oh, I'm going to leave, Okay? I need to go to the accounting department first because I need something,"
I nodded and she left. I just continued to arrange my boss's schedule so that when he asked, I could show him something.
An hour passed when he arrived but just like the last time I saw him he just went straight inside his office. I waited a few more minutes before getting up to go to him and remind him of his schedule.
As soon as I entered, I saw him sitting while drinking wine. My brow furrowed. Why is he drinking this early?
I approached him and placed the folder I was holding on the table. "Sir, your meeting schedules for the next few days are here and you have a meeting this afternoon with an investor," I informed him.
"Cancel it," he ordered me, and my eyes widened.
"W-what?" I ask again.
"Didn't you hear what I said? I've only been gone for three days and you're already deaf, I said you cancel that meeting,"
"I clearly heard what you were saying. I'm just asking why? These are the files you're asking me to fix as soon as possible because you need them today, right?" I wondered.
"I don't need to explain to you my reason, I'm your boss so you have to follow what I will command you."
Suddenly my head got hot because of what he said. "I will never forget that you're boss! The only thing about me is that you rushed me to finish the necessary papers because you will use them in the meeting with that client. I stayed up late at night just to finish this, then now you will command me to cancel the meeting? I think I deserve an explanation, Sir." I said.
He looked at me seriously. "You're my secretary and that is your job, you have no right to question my decision and ask for an explanation."
"Damn it! Are really rich people like this? Don't you even appreciate your employees?" I'm so annoyed.
"Are you complaining? I am paying you right, so it's natural for you to do the work you have. Don't question my decisions! I own this company and I can do whatever I want,"
"Don't you get my point Storm? Why do you need to rush me doing this paper work that you need for the meeting if you didn't plan on using it yet." I said.
"Did you forget already that I am your boss and we are in the office so you don't have any right to call me by my name only? And I will repeat to you that you are paid for your work so whether I use it or not it's still my decision. If you don't want to follow what I am saying then resign. Easy as that."
"You know your behavior is really bad, so I won't be surprised why no one takes long to be your secretary. You don't have that kind heart! Didn't your parents teach you good manners? Because I'm sure that if they see what you are doing now will make them ashamed of you as their child!" I shouted at him.
I was just surprised when he quickly stood up and held my arm tightly. "What did you say? Did you mention my parents?" he asked me angrily.
"You're not deaf enough to not hear what I said, right? But I'll repeat it for you. What I'm saying is that maybe your parents didn't teach you good manners or maybe your parents are like that and you inherited it from them!" I boldly promise even though the truth is that I am nervous now.
I felt that he gripped my arm even tighter and I was sure it would bruise. "You have no right to involve my parents in this because you know nothing about them! Don't disrespect my parents in front of me!" He screamed in anger which startled me.
Even though I felt nervous, I still didn't shake. "Are you hurt because of what I said? Who's parents would be happy when their child has a behavior like yours? They will surely feel useless!" I strongly said.
He quickly grabbed me by the jaw. "I said stop talking about my parents!" he shouted furiously.
We were in that position when the door opened and Kiara was spit out who was obviously in a hurry. She seemed to hear his brother's voice.
"What is happening here? Storm, let her go," she said and quickly came to us and removed his brother's hand from holding me.
"Talk to that girl Kiara because I might lose my temper," Storm spoke emphatically to his sister. Kiara quickly pulled me out of the office.
