Kiara POV

This is the day! It's my wedding day. I feel mixed emotions right now, nervous, happy, and scared. The make-up artist that my brother hired has finished doing their things for me and I'm wearing my wedding gown.

"You look tense." I looked at my brother sitting next to me.

"I'm just nervous brother," I said.

"To what? That you won't see Nigel at the altar? Don't worry because that thing won't happen, if he does that he won't see you and Chase anymore." he said.

"Shut up brother, what you're saying isn't helping,"

He laughed and then came to me. "Calm down Ki, it's your special day. I still can't believe that my sister is getting married to my best friend now. It feels so unreal, I still can't believe that this is happening now, I remember when you were just a baby  to take care of, then I always accompany you to buy your favorite books and foods, and later I'll take you to the altar, I'll leave you to the person who will love and take care of you for the rest of your life,"

"Oh shut up brother! You'll make me cry, this is my wedding I should be beautiful and not a crybaby," I grumbled.

He laughed. "I'm just happy Ki, I'm so happy because I know that I took care of you and raised you well. You deserve the world, you deserve happiness, you deserve the light after the darkness. You will always be my princess, my little one,"

I quickly hugged him tightly. I think it's even more painful than a breakup when you have to separate. The person you used to be with and see every time you woke up and go to sleep is no longer with you now.

"And you deserve all the happiness in life also brother, I'm still wishing that the day comes you will get married and I'm also the one who will be with you at the altar waiting for your bride that will be one of the best gifts I will receive in my life. Seeing you happy and having your own family." I said crying.

"Come on, don't cry. You'll be married in a few minutes.

Later, the door opened and Uncle Cain and Uncle Dark entered. "Hello Alcantara siblings," he promised, so we hugged him together.

"How are you uncle? I thought you couldn't attend my wedding." I said.

"Is that possible?" he said.

"You've been gone for a while uncle, where did you go?" my brother asked.

He smiled at us. "You know I'm taking care of a lot, especially since I've built a new resort," he said.

"I am very proud of you both, for being strong people, you have overcome all the trials that have come in your life. If only your parents were here, I know how proud they would be of you," Uncle Dark said.

"We owe this to both of you and also to Aunt Calli and Aunt Mnnique, we don't know what our lives would be like if it wasn't for the four of you. You become our parents," my brother said.

"My brother is right, we are so lucky because even though our parents died early, you did not abandon us as you promised to them. We are longing for their presence but even so, you made us feel that we are not alone," I seconded.

"You both had a great fight and I am very proud of you. No matter what happens, We will be here for both of you. We will always guide and support you in everything. Your parents are important to us. " Uncle Cain said.

Later, they left us to go to the venue and prepare. Until now I still can't imagine getting married because I thought there was no hope for me and Nigel to be okay again. Even though I don't know if I can forgive him after what happened to me, it's different when you love someone because you're ready to forgive him especially if you see that he's regretting it. My brother is right, Nigel is also just a victim, we are just victims of people who can do bad things to others just to get what they want. You can't find true happiness if you don't learn to forgive.

And now I will get the happiness I have longed for with the person I love and my child. I know if this is just the beginning of a new life if they are a wife and mother, I know if many more problems and trials will come to us but I know if I am with someone and share.

I looked at the person beside me who was busy talking on the phone, my only brother Storm, no words can say how much I love him, he is one of the reasons why I became strong. He raised me so well and I will always be thankful to him. The only thing I can ask for my brother is his true happiness, now that I'm going to get married and have my own family every day I will pray that the time will come for him to build his own because I know that's what is his dream.

"Are you ready? It's time now," I was startled by his holding my shoulder.

I nodded to him. "Thank you, brother, for everything. I may soon be Mrs. Monteverde after this day but I will always be your little Alcantara, who's a crybaby," I said softly and he smiled. He took my hand and we left the room together.

As we walked to the venue where the wedding will be held, my nervousness still hadn't disappeared, but because of my brother, it was lessening. Nigel and I chose a beach wedding for our wedding and only invited important people.

Nigel and I's favorite song started playing so I smiled. Until my brother and I slowly walked towards the front, clearly seeing the man I love waiting for me in front, I feel like I'm still dreaming even though I know that everything that is happening now is real.

When we got to Nigel, my brother let go of my hand and gave it to his best friend. "Take care and love my sister more than I did. P-please, don't ever hurt her Nigel. If you have a problem, talk about it carefully, if she wants to leave your house and think first, let him come home to me. You know my sister is stubborn sometimes so please be patient with her. A-and if the day comes when you get tired or you don't want her anymore, please, please take her back to me," when I heard what he said to Nigel I can't stop myself from crying, he is indeed that best brother, he wants the best for me, I am always his priority more than anything else.

Nigel smiled at him. "I can't promise that we won't have problems and misunderstandings because that's part of marriage life, but ... I promise you that I will take care of and love her more than my life. Storm, thank you for being the best brother to Kiara, thank you for trusting her to me. I'm so lucky to have you as my best friend and I will forever treasure it, " he said to my brother.

My brother turned his gaze to me. "Be mature enough Kia, you are not a child anymore. Take care of your family. I am always here for you and my nephew and the house is always open if you want to go home. Even if you are getting married now, you are still my only sister and nothing will change for that matter. You can have always my shoulder to lean and cry on and I'll always listen to you. Be a good wife and a mother. I love you, my sister," he said and I could see the tears in his eyes.

"I love you so much brother," I said and hug him tight then he left and went to his place.

"You're so beautiful, babe," Nigel said so I smiled at him.

"You are handsome," I said and then the ceremony began.

Sometimes we have to go through trials to make us stronger in life. The problems that come our way are not easy, but we have to believe that we can overcome all of them.

If we want to see or feel true happiness, we must learn to forgive those who have done us wrong, we don't need to hold grudges or anger because we can't do anything to our beauty. Being selfish and greedy is one of the things that will destroy us.
