Kiara POV

It's been a week since Nigel left and as he told me at the airport, he calls often, sometimes late because of his meetings one after another and I understand that. I do tell him that when he's tired, he should just rest and it's okay if he can't call right away, but what I say doesn't seem to have any effect on him.

During the days that I don't see him, I do what he says. I need to help myself to forget my complicated past. It's not easy, but it's necessary to do so that I can be completely fine.

My brother reopened the case about what happened to me before and he will talk to the police when we get home because that's what Nigel wants the person who did all this to me to pay.

They don't believe that all this is a coincidence, they think that someone may have ordered them to do that thing to me.

"You always seem to be in a good mood since Nigel left,' I looked at my brother who had just arrived.

"And you are always ruining my day, brother," I said to him.

"Because you have something else on your mind, what I mean is that I notice that you are getting better as Zam said,"

I smiled at him. "I needed this brother, for my family to be incomplete. I can't always be scared every time I think about what I've been through. I need to move forward, my family needs me." I said.

He sat next to me. "I'm so happy for you. I know that you still love Nigel, you're just upset and angry with him, but you haven't lost your love for him,"

"H-how could you forgive him just like that brother?" I asked him.

"If you think that I forgave him right away, you are wrong, it is not easy for me to give that thing, especially if you were hurt. It is painful for me that you have to go through that thing, it is painful to decide to let in and leave. you were in that place. I even questioned myself where did I go wrong and why did you have to be in that situation. It hurts for me as your brother to see you suffer and there is nothing I just can't do it. I hate Nigel so much, I blame him for everything that happened to you because if he hadn't left you you wouldn't be in the situation you're going through. But I'm also thinking about Chase, he needs a father and a complete family,"

"I will be forever grateful for all the things you've done for me. You have always been the biggest part of my life brother." I said as tears fell down from my eyes.

I felt him hug me tightly. "You're always my treasure Kiara, and I won't let you get in trouble. As I always say I got your back. I'll always be here for you even if you have a child, even if you have a family,"

"I don't have one yet," I said.

He loosened his grip on me. "What do you call Nigel and Chase, your neighbors? Of course, I know that once you and my friend settle down, you will get married,"

"Your thinking is advanced brother, you might be forgetting that he revoked our wedding,"

He grinned at me. "You're still thinking about that thing? Whereas both you had sex already for how many times,"

My eyes widened because of what he said. "H-how d---"

"Come on sister, Nigel is my best friend that's why I know him well, even with his smiles I know the meaning. You can't lie to me,"

"You're annoying, brother!" I shouted at him and hit him on the arm, but the fool just laughed. It's embarrassing that my brother found out about it.

"Don't be shy, I know that's natural in a relationship. It's not natural for you because you haven't gotten back together and you're still acting angry with him during those times but you know," he is still laughing while saying it.

"Pervert!" I snort at him.

"I'm not undressing in front of you, don't be shy Kiara, I'm your brother so it's fine with me if you and Nigel do that thing because you already have a child,"

And because I was annoyed with him, I stood up and marched upstairs, but I could still hear his teasing voice.

Storm POV

The meeting just ended and I'm happy because my project here is finally finished and we can finally go home to the Philippines. I'm so tired at the same time happy because my hard work has been worth it and our company has expanded here.

And now I'm in the car going home, as we were supposed to go home next week, it might be early because of what happened. I received a call from Uncle Dark earlier telling me what happened, until now I still don't know how to tell Kiara this bad news.

When I got home, I immediately looked for my sister and the maids told me that she was in the pool area with Chase. So I quickly went there and saw the two of them playing.

"Kiara," I called her.

"Brother,"

"Hi Papa, let's swim," Chase interjected.

"Yo buddy, later, I need to talk to your mom first," I said and gestured for Kiara to follow me.

She handed Chase to his Nanny before following me. "What's wrong brother? Don't say that the project here was not successful," she said as she got close to me.

I shook my head. "I already sealed the contract," I said.

"Wow! Congratulations! So what's wrong?" she asked.

"We need to go home," I said briefly.

"We're at home bro, what's going on with you?"

"What I mean is in the Philippines." I will clarify.

"Aren't we going home next week?"

"Yes, but we have to go home as soon as possible," I said.

"Why? Is there a problem brother?"

I took a deep breath before looking at her seriously. "It's about Nigel,"

"Why? What happened?

"He's in the hospital, Uncle Dark called me earlier and told me what happened. So I decided we'll go home tomorrow." I said.

"Hospital? Why? What happened to him? I thought he was just busy so he didn't call us these past few days,"

"He had an accident on his way home to his condo and until now he hasn't woken up," I said.

Kiara sat weakly on the sofa so I quickly attended to her. "That's why he's not calling me," she said softly.

"Don't worry, I know Nigel will be fine, "I comforted her.

"W-what if he suffered a bad accident? W-what if he never wakes up, brother,"

"Don't think that way Kiara, Nigel loves you so much to leave like that," I said.

"Will our problem never end? Nigel and I have been through a lot of trials but until now we have not been happy. We have not even been well and then this is it again,"

"Hush now, everything will be alright. This kind of test won't come if you can't overcome it. I know you will be happy too. Don't be discouraged." I said.

"W-when are we going home, brother? Nigel needs us now,"

"I already booked our flight and we will be home tomorrow. Just prepare your things so you won't be left behind. I'll also inform our maids and Chase's nanny so they can pack their things as well." I said and she nodded. Of course, when we go home, we have to be with our maid because we only brought her here to help us.

Kiara said goodbye to organize their things, while I called Bea first.

"Are you in the office?" I asked her.

"Yup, Uncle Cain left earlier. Why?" she asked me.

"We will go home tomorrow." I imprinted on her.

"Tomorrow? I thought you were coming home next week. Why is it so early? Does Uncle Cain already know?"

"Yes, I already called him earlier and informed him that we'll be back. We need to go home baby because Nigel is in the hospital." I said.

"What? What happens? That's why uncle Cain left early the other day and he was in a hurry saying he had to go to the hospital,"

"Uncle Dark also called me a while ago and told me what happened. I don't know the real reason, he just said that he had an accident and hasn't woken up until now." I said.

"How's Kiara?"

"She is not okay, she cried when I told her earlier," I answered.

"Does the test of their relationship have to end?"

"That's what I'm thinking, they just fixed it and now it's happening again." I just sighed.

"I just hope that after this they will be fine. Both of them deserve to be happy,"

After we talked, I also said goodbye because I was going to fix my stuff. When I hung up the phone I saw Chase running towards me.

"Papa!" he shouted.

"Don't run Chase!" I said to him,

"Papa, is it true that we are going home? Will I see Daddy again?" he asked me.

I smiled at him. "Yes, we will go home tomorrow, you need to behave or else we will leave you here." I threatened him.

"What? You will not do that Papa because you love me," he said with a sneer that made me laugh.

I also noticed his Nanny who had just come inside with Chase's toy.

"I'll take care of Chase. Pack your things first so you don't leave anything behind when we go home. Please tell our maid so she can pack and leave early tomorrow." I said and she followed immediately.

"Where's mommy, Papa?"

"She's in the room fixing your things," I answered.

"Who will bathe me today? Nanny?" he asked.

"I'll give you a bath first because I ordered something from your Nanny, is that okay buddy?" I said.

He nodded one after the other. "Yes, Papa."
