Chapter 517: Chapter 517

[Congratulations on receiving the super trait crystal (Life Link): This trait allows the user to link its life force with other familiars. While connected, their combined life force significantly increases their survival ability.]

[The next round will start in 5 minutes.]

Lu Ran was much happier with his latest victory, while the Stellar Moon audience felt not only crushed, but also indignant. Bai Lu really got their hopes up and made them believe that there was a real chance for them to finally be rid of Lu Ran. Bai Lu was also breathtakingly beautiful, so her fans were much more passionate than those of the previous contestants.

Unfortunately, she still ultimately suffered defeat at Lu Ran’s hands. Getting torn back down after just getting lifted up into the clouds was particularly devastating. Although most people didn’t blame Bai Lu since she obviously put in a good effort.

The crowd was starting to hate Lu Ran more and more. He started out on the side of righteousness by standing up for mankind against the God of War. The problem was that most people were unable to reach the Legendary rank even without being sanctioned. It was as if the average person was told that billionaires were getting a tax hike. It was a problem they would never have to deal with.

On the other hand, if Lu Ran carried the Blue Planet team to victory, it would cause tangible and direct damages to every beastmaster in Stellar Moon World. This made the spectators increasingly upset.

"Damn it, I refuse to accept this. Is there really no one who can knock him down a peg?"

"Can someone just beat him already? Can Mechanical Leader please go up and nuke him with the forbidden weapon?"

"Why is Ice Emperor so far in the back? He should be strong enough to instakill that guy."

"I can't hold it in anymore. I'm so pissed off right now. Being the defender sucks. If only Ice Emperor were up first. If he were, even all ten beastmasters from Blue Planet wouldn’t be enough to get past the first checkpoint."

The Stellar Moon audience was starting to get rambunctious. Despite their enthusiasm, there was nothing they could really do about Lu Ran.

—It looks like the public image you built up for yourself is starting to crumble.

Six-Path Flower’s voice sounded in Lu Ran’s mind.

Lu Ran also felt kind of helpless. He was hoping to create a great reputation for himself so that people would like him once he took over Stellar Moon World. In the end, it was all for nothing.

Unlike what most people expected, the Stellar Moon team’s spirit was crushed after the first four battles. Lu Ran knew that he was silently being cursed out by every beastmaster from Stellar Moon. Some probably even wished that he would drop dead.

—I told you that you were born to play the villain. Since we’re already here, you might as well farm some evil energy. I can feel evil energy radiating off of the Stellar Moon crowd, so you should double down and get as much evil energy as you can.

Six-Path Flower was like a little devil on Lu Ran’s shoulder, trying to tempt him onto the dark path. Its words made sense and made him stop to think it over. A smile slowly crept onto his face.

While the crowd was still buzzing with discussions, someone noticed Lu Ran’s change of expression.

A loud and arrogant laugh cast a silence over everyone who refocused their attention on Lu Ran. Lu Ran ran his fingers through his hair to pull it back, and a black coat fell over his shoulders.

Even Blue Planet’s audience was confused.

Lu Ran's laughter gradually subsided. He covered his face with one of his hands while turning his face to the Stellar Moon audience in contempt.

"I prepared so hard for this event over the last year, but I didn't expect that my opponents would be so weak. The Divine Deer’s messenger only amounted to this. If my next opponent is just as weak, then the entire Stellar Moon team should just give up. To the next Stellar Moon contestant, I hope you can help ease my boredom a little. Do your best to beat one of my familiars."

The Blue Planet audience sat in a stunned silence.

While the two worlds were on opposing sides at the moment, it was still too arrogant for Lu Ran to start mocking the other side.

Is he a real-life villain?

After a brief moment, the Stellar Moon audience reacted in outrage.

"What’s his problem? He only won four battles, but he’s already so full of himself."

"Next up is Death Gun, right? Death Gun, you better kick his ass!"

"Crush him, Death Gun!"

The Stellar Moon audience exploded into outrage and thought all kinds of wicked things about Lu Ran, causing evil energy to condense over their heads. Lu Ran was the only one able to see this energy cloud thanks to Six-Path Flower.

In response, Lu Ran cooked up a wicked idea of his own. Cutting off someone’s future was the same as killing them. If he won the World War for the Blue Planet team, then he would crush the hopes and dreams of countless Stellar Moon beastmasters. Wouldn’t that count as a huge evil deed?

Lu Ran hadn’t thought about it before, but now that he did, he didn’t mind making the most out of this opportunity. He was about to destroy the future of an entire world and downgrade their Limitless City for selfish reasons. Maybe he could gather enough energy to help Six-Path Flower reach Superior Legendary.

Once he was strong enough, he could help Stellar Moon defeat the Chaos Dragon God and bring about an era of peace and prosperity.

I will be their nemesis and salvation!

This plan was bound to help Lu Ran farm a huge amount of both evil and virtuous energy!

Although Lu Ran defeated four of his teammates in a row, Ice Emperor had a good impression of Lu Ran at first. But now that Lu Ran started acting so obnoxious, the expressions of the remaining Stellar Moon contestants darkened. If they didn’t put Lu Ran in his place quickly, then it would be a major embarrassment for the entire Stellar Moon World.

There were a few people who knew him too well, like Death Gun. He was aware of Six-Path Flower’s existence, whom he heard rumors about having powers related to virtuous and evil energy. Lu Ran was acting like a villain to incite Stellar Moon citizens to think evil thoughts about him.

Even though he knew the reason, Death Gun was still upset. The audience had been whipped into a frenzy. He was afraid that something untoward would happen to him if he lost.

Mechanical Leader had a solid idea of Death Gun’s true identity. Death Gun might only be the second strongest mechanic, but he was the strongest necromancer in Stellar Moon. He had to be the messenger of some Legendary creature that was proficient in the Undead attribute.

"It’s ok. You don’t need to say anything." New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on novel-fire.ɴet

Death Gun's eyes filled with determination. He would defeat Lu Ran even if he had to put his life on the line. He stepped onto the stage and locked eyes with Lu Ran. Lu Ran surprised him when he continued his act.

"Death Gun, I heard that you are the number one necromancer in Stellar Moon. What a coincidence. I pioneered the Undead attribute on Blue Planet. My strongest suit isn’t any elemental attribute or the Mechanical attribute. No, it’s the Undead attribute. Let me show you the true power of a necromancer."

You are just a messenger of the Divine Deer. What do you know about the Undead attribute?

Death Gun didn’t want to reveal the fact that he already knew Lu Ran for fear of getting outed as the one to give Lu Ran his mechanical angel. Unfortunately, the more one feared something, the more it was likely to bite them in the butt.

[Defender #5: Death Gun]

[Challenger #1: Pedestrian A]

[Countdown: 10... 9...]

When the countdown ended, Lu Ran once again sent out a single familiar. From the summoning diagram, a mechanical angel with blood-red wings and a white lab coat descended. Its delicate face was adorned with a pair of crimson eyes and framed by fiery red hair. Death Gun really wanted to say a few bad words.

The audience was even more concerned about Lu Ran’s familiar than Death Gun, however.

[Species: Mechanical Blood Angel]

[Attribute: Mechanical]

[Species Rank: Quasi-Legendary]

"Shit, another Quasi-Legendary? Where did he find the energy, resources, and opportunities to raise so many Quasi-Legendaries?"

"Isn’t that the familiar rumored to have summoned the spirit of Bai Ze to defeat a Quasi-Legendary when it was a Superior Overlord?"

"This is his Undead familiar? So his plan is to use the Bai Ze spirit again. Wait a minute—if that’s the case, then both sides are using familiars of the Mechanical and Undead attributes."

The audience didn’t expect such a development. Somewhere on the Stellar Moon side, a group of mechanics from the Flame Source Company frowned at the sight of the mechanical angel. They didn’t notice anything when they read through the intel, but now that they saw it in person, they realized that it looked just like the mechanical angels they produced.

Besides the species rank and some of the details, everything else looked like it was cast out of the same mold.

"Seventeen out of our eighteen mechanical angels were given to designated factions, and the last one was given to Death Gun, so that shouldn’t be one of ours."

The other beastmasters from the Fire Source Company nodded in agreement.

"So Pedestrian A wants to use this Mechanical Blood Angel to solo Death Gun? I hope Death Gun doesn’t let him get his way."

Everyone waited in anticipation to see Death Gun’s lineup. His first familiar was obviously going to be his signature pistol. Unlike any other firearm, this pistol specialized in support rather than offense. The fusion of the Undead and Mechanical attributes created bullets with a wide range of effects.

Everyone knew the power of those bullets. They could strengthen the soul and supposedly even bring back the dead. One of the bullets was called the Death Energy Bullet that could infuse people with great power. As expected, his Necromancer Pistol reached the Quasi-Legendary rank and was already level 77.

Death Gun’s other two familiars were equally shocking. They were less well-known; amongst them, there was a Quasi-Legendary ancient bronze coffin. The Eye of Detection revealed it as the Underworld Coffin.

Before Death Gun’s last familiar appeared, he pointed the Necromance Pistol at his temple.

The gunshot scared the Blue Planet audience. A black bullet shot straight through his head, and his face rapidly aged while his hair turned white. Soon enough, he turned into a wrinkled old man.
